Purity Ring is one of those bands with no 'skips' for me. There are songs I like more than others, sure, but none that I don't like. And that's impressive enough when it comes to their own core sound, but the fact that I still feel that way whenever they explore in different directions with other artists really cements it for me that this is just plain good art made by talented and skillful people. this is SUCH a song oh my gosh :3 i get why the screaming can be jarring to some people, but i love it because it's peak emotion... it's like desperation and hope are both represented in this song, two sides of the same coin type beat, and it's SPLENDID ✨

I'm always down for artists experimenting and going in the direction they need to. But for me, I think the major thrust of the lyrics is sophomoric for a Purity Ring production, and so it doesn't really interest me. The production seems experimental, and I can see what it's trying to do as a chimaera - I even enjoy it (it's actually great in some places, e.g. 1:44) - but it's really brought down by a banality I wouldn't have otherwise expected as it's usually a strength of PR's above all other musical acts. I can see what the track was overall going for though, even if the screamo doesn't work for me. I hope PR keep doing what they're doing and working with artists they admire. I just have to tap out on this one. I really wish people could distinguish the difference between where our taste lies and where the artists have to go!
Outside of Purity Ring, I listen mainly to metal. Specifically sludge metal, black metal, and groove. These soundcloud rapper metalcore screams just don't sound good ever, but especially not with your guys stuff. Really disappointing. The guy's voice isn't good in general and sounds like he records soundcloud music in his room with a webcam as a microphone. It's a stark contrast to your guys quality. This has to be the only song I've really disliked from you guys.
Love purity ring, but surely I am not alone is my complete disdain for this new track. The two aspects of the song do not fit each other whatsoever. The sort of dub step/ harsh vocals are not a good addition.
Purity Ring has been devolving with each release. Less and less range, little to no distinct melody or sound change from verse to chorus. No hooks where there should be plenty. Pretty music to have playing low in the background. Its LA teenage house party ambiance. This is the direction they need to go for a little bit.
