Evinrude 15hp Outboard motor test run.

This Is a 1992 Evinrude 15 or short shaft. The work performed this engine includes Cylinder head gasket, Magneto crankshaft seal, carburetor rebuild ultrasonic cleaning and rebuild, and Water pump housing an impeller. Before I put the new head gasket on, I was only getting 18 miles an hour and had compression leakage into the opposing cylinder when doing a leak down test. After a new head gasket, I was able to achieve 23 mph out of this outboard. I was running this engine on a Crestliner X -140 boat. The boat itself is set up for a short shaft motor and is 60 inches wide at the widest point. Thank you for taking the time to watch this video. If you have any questions, feel free to comment below.

Dang the 15 Evinrude pushed that boat like a CHAMP! I've got a 91 Evinrude 10 HP Salt Water version I bought new in 92. I've never had top do much to it at all, just change the lower unit lube and the plugs. It's one of those black and silver models

If it’s a true 10hp and not a 9.9 you can take a restriction plate out behind the carb and make it a full 15hp

i am keeping it
