Russia won't negotiate with them. It wants to try divide Europe and take advantage but they are making a MASSIVE strategic mistake.

I believe that neither is the preferred way. Russia as a member/or associated member (Like Switzerland, Norway etc) state of EU will be better. US at this juncture would rather focus on China rather than deal with Russia, who is in a demographic and economic death spiral with no real future under the oligarchs. However, Russia is still extremely militarily dangerous.

I was totally against this strange invasion, but the toxic Western media convinced me that I was wrong.

I will rather worry about Palestinians who are blocked from getting arms and Indian Kashmir which is already under military siege since more than 2 years than worry about Ukraine which hasn't happened yet.
Russia will not retreat from the position which they consider appropriate. America and NATO has nothing but to intimidate Russia but Russia is not Afghanistan. From the recent development on the both sides of Ukraine and Russia borders , it is evidenced that Russia will certainly occupy Ukraine. Mere sanctions can not prevent Russia from occupying Ukraine.
Depends on what the sanctions are. If the US/West were to cut Russia out of the Swift system, that would effectively shut the entire Russian population (rich and poor) out from the international monetary system. That would probably start a hot war which is why it would be last resort. This is what they did to Iran and it crippled that country to the point where Iran had to give in. What Russia needs to do is create an alterative system but the issue they have is that nobody trusts the Russian currency. It's not stable like how the USD is hence the USD is used as the worlds trading/reserve currency
