Tenerife Travel Guide: Top 10 Things To Do (4K)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 лют 2025
- I have put together this Tenerife Travel Guide to share my experience of the island and hopefully give an insight into the many different excursions and day trips you can do, as well as some of the less touristy spots too.
This video covers flights to Tenerife, Tenerife hire car, and Tenerife accommodation.
More Car Hire Info: bit.ly/tenerife...
This Tenerife top 10 travel guide includes: Teide National Park, Siam Park, whale and dolphin watching, Tenerife beaches, Icod, Masca, Santa Cruz, Spanish fiestas and more.
In my experience, people come to Tenerife for the sunshine and sometimes don't leave their all inclusive resort which is a huge shame as Tenerife has so much to offer. Hopefully my Tenerife Top 10 may persuade you to explore further if you're planning a trip to Tenerife.
Tenerife is part of the Canary Islands and my family have been taking their holiday here for over 30 years. Tenerife and the Canary Islands hold a special place in my heart and I want to share with you why.

Did 3 weeks work experience there as (part of my college course in Ireland ) I worked there on the very boat you showed 3min ...stayed in los christianos ...I absolutely loved it there ....pure bliss
I would add one more point, watching the Sunset and wehen it gets dark the stars fromm Teide ist Just amazing! We habe never seen so many stars before! Just mesmerizing!
I was there in 2016 .. I visited Los Cristianos, El Medano, Las Americas, Costa del Silencio, Siam Park and of course Teide. Tenerife is beautiful and I will definitely go there again in a few years.
'The sea goes all the way round the island'
I don't think my "tongue-in-cheek" comment came through as it should have done! :)
Plus it's not a sea mate. It's called North Atlantic Ocean ;)
Nice video however- If you mention culture, how could you forget La Laguna ( UNESCO World Heritage Site )?? The former capital of Tenerife after Garachico and before Sta. Cruz, with some of the oldest buildings / churches on the island, university city with an amazing nightlife plus, right behind you on Las Vistas Beach you have San Telmo, full of restaurants, pubs / open-air clubs which are definitely safer than Las Verónicas.
For another culture visit i recomend La Laguna
(I’m from Santa Cruz, but i think it’s worth visiting, the houses are really pretty there, the only problem is, it’s always cloudy XD)
what ever next, wet water.
I lived in Los Gigantes, Tenerife for 6 years and I got to agree this island is unique and is a must visit.
AlrightyDave I love Los Gigantes... I need to make a follow up video and include it!
Los Cristianos alllll the way.... am in Tenerife watching this.... we did Siam Park.... Icod....Masca..... Mount Tiède...... karting..... will definitely be back......for Siam Park And the submarine trip
The sea goes all around the island. Extraordinary.
Two memorable items you missed Capt. A star gazing tour and meal on Mt. Teide. The knowledgeable guide showed us how to recognise and read the stars.
It was breathtaking and a World Heritage site. Be warned it is VERY VERY cold up there at night, even in summer.
2nd was a visit to the Pyramids of Guimar. A site found and developed by the Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl. Just wonderful.
Drove through Masca a few days ago with a rental Camaro... I don't think I was in so much stress in quite some time. Once you start going there, forget about turning back as roads are seriously narrow! and yes, the view is simply breathtaking. When going to Teide, use the strongest sunscreen as the sun is quite ruthless in there and use it liberally. Had the worst sunburn of my life and it was followed by a sun poisoning! Now I'm staying inside until it all calms down and off to scuba dive and to Siam's park!
This is like them 90's 00s holiday programmes wish you were here etc. Well done.
Travel on tuesday. Watching this to get myself hyped
I was hanging in the balance about whether to go to Portugal or Tenerife and your video has really helped sell Tenerife to me!
I felt in love with the Island last month. Going back as soon as possible to Costa Adeje
Home is where the heart is and i left mine there many years ago. Ive been to quite a few different countrys but nothing compares to Tenerife, the only place on this planet that i want to live. One day, hopefully
I've been to Tenerife 11 times and golf del sur is one of the best places to stay you actually can't hear the planes in most hotels obviously check on trip advisor first and has some of my favourite restaurants on the island the square is lovely at night very lively in fact and entertainment all round not too busy but enough people to give the place a bit of an atmosphere
Brilliant video. Ive been here 7 times now, 8 in a few weeks. I love the place and hopefully one day will live here, its the only place on this planet that ive been to and felt at home, i hate having to leave. Thanks for this video, it showed me a couple of places i havent been to, will hopefully get to see them this time.
I love this island , Siam parc is so cool ,and los christianos is so beautiful 😻😻❤
Good video. I have met Brits who after visiting said exactly that. "But it's just bars and hotels" and even "What volcano? I didn't see any volcano"
Probably the best presenter ive seen on these vids! Planning on going to tenerife next month December 2019🙌🙌
Thank you! I hope you have a great trip!
Haha. "The sea goes all the way around the island". I don't know why this made me laugh so hard.
I know why!!!!
Because its a ridiculous statement. What a moron.
Some people may need informing 🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
It's very interesting to actually see the tourists' (at least form my point of view lol) takes on Tenerife.
The island being "clubs, bars and all-inclusive resorts" part was very much expected (also, funny to hear), and it summarizes pretty well what the southern part of Tenerife actually is. But if you find yourselves adventurous enough and/or are curious about life in the northern parts, then your should definetly stop by places from Santa Cruz/La Laguna onwards.
There's where you'll find the less touristy villages and you'll get a grasp of how most of us actually live.
Anyways, I know the video it's from years ago, but I just wanted to give my thumbs up to such a well made summary overall.
Cheers from Tacoronte!
We just arrived on Tenerife for our next For91days ... staying for 3 month .. thank you for this awesome video.
WOW....here I am sitting in El Sauzal, Tenerife....in the beautiful north.....sunsets every night!
Great video, been 4 times to Tenerife and totally agree with your experience. You can go to the very top of Teide but need an authorisation, which is free but need to be asked long in advance. Or you can hike early, maybe stay overnight in the refuge and then before 9am you don't need one. Have fun !
A lot of good suggestions here! Our guests especially enjoy Garachico, Masca and the whale watching which you mention here.
Excellent video, thank you! Short, concise and informative. We are really looking forward to Tenerife to break the winter.
I'm living in Tenerife and i think that the north of the Island is a good place to visit too!! There are so many little towns where you can go for a walk and discover new places. In Puerto de la Cruz (a town in the north of the island) you can enjoy the sun 90% of the time in a year. There are so many beaches like Punta Brava, Martiánez... And also you can go to Lago Martiánez, a place with so many swimming pools created by a famous artist of Canary Island!!! In Puerto de la Cruz you can also find one of the best zoo's in the world: Loro Park. Here you can enjoy seeing the animals and the shows that they offers you.
I love it
"the sea goes all the way around the island"
Garachicos have amazing natural swimming pools, can't miss those
Garachico, es casi lo ultimo del norte, después queda la punta de teno. Es muy bonita. Gracias!!
Water park and Teide are a must, make sure cable car is running before driving up the mountain. Absolutely no worries about bars if you are 16+!
I just got back from Tenerife 2 days ago
Stayed at Los cristianos at the Torres DEL sol apartments
Love it their as it’s quite central and literally 2 min from the beach and pasao
Definitely my fav place for a holiday !!!!
cant stop replaying this video! going back to tenerife in 2 weeks. got a one way ticket, dont plan on returning any time soon.
it was like waking up from a dream coming back to Ireland 😂.
I'm from Tenerife, and I approve this video. And if you allow me to add a suggestion, Los Gigantes, Bajamar and La Laguna are worth the visit.
Katia González Ledesma I'm from El Hierro. And you are so right. Beautiful!
Agree... y Puerto De la Cruz.... :-)
Katia, I envy. I love Tenerife.
What are the local transports to visit those? And how much it cost?
I would also recommend going to puerto de la cruz, its an hour away from the south of the island but it has great beaches and Loro Parque which if you are into it, its one of the best zoos in the world. The owner of Loro Parque and Siam Park is the same so sometimes there are discounts if you go to one of them.
Athena1939 don’t go to Loro parque it’s the worst place on the island !!
Los Gigantes should be on this list, absolutely breathtaking! Great vid! Love Tenerife
Great video. I burst out laughing when you said "The sea goes right around the island" 3:00 though 😂
really great video. the best I've come across so far, telling me what I need to know.
We just got back last week, stayed in the south, and in Santa Cruz, both great. Park Teide is stunning, visited a banana plantation which was interesting. Life is not expensive, and the climate is quite different from the Mediterranean. La Laguna is a nice town too. We'll surely be back. Your video brings back a lot of good memories.
This is amazing because I'm going Tenerife on Friday its amazing
What a fab video!😄It's great to see the north of the island getting a shout out...Places like Garachico and Icod are just so beautiful - while in the north, it is definitely worth stopping off in smaller villages like La Victoria, Santa Ursula and Tegueste as well as La Laguna where some of the best food on the island is and great wine! And I agree, jump on a boat and explore the other islands if you can. La Gomera and La Palma will not disappoint💕
Finally a very good video, normally they just talk about clubbing and Loro Park. Very welldone mate! Thanks for show that my place is not just for partying
Travelling from Lincoln to Tenerife is an awful long time journey.
It was worth the time.
This is a great travel guide. It helped me a lot with my travel plans for our trip to Tenerife. Therefore, thank you! We had a fun trip to Tenerife.
Katie Thank you! Really nice of you to say :)
Siam park definitely worth its price of a ticket, best water park I've been too
Jammyplays13 same it's so epic did you go on the tower of power? I did!
Jammyplays13 ikr
Yeah definitely really recommended
I live tenerife
We went there for free it came with our hotel and Loro parque
The most professional presenter I’ve ever seen anywhere on you tube!
Wow - Thanks!
It's been years since I went to Tenerife! I had such a great time. I was 8 at the time but I LOVED IT! I'm going again next year YAS! So it's been 7 years as of now that I went. I'm either going to be Los Cristianos or Las Americas but it's probably going to be Las Americas. Which I am happy with cause that place is awesome! Anyway, thanks for this guide!
6:19 Yes it is protected, but you can go to the top of El Teide you just have to get a permit ahead of time.
They only allow about 200 people a day to go to the peak.
You have to request a permit via their website in order to get to the top, do this at least 60 days ahead of time, otherwise you will not get a chance.
I’m Travelling to Tenerife for the 1st time tomorrow. This helps me understand where to go and what to do, a very well made and informative video 😉👍
adriano raffaele Thank you! Have a lovely trip.
@@CaptainGlobal can't wait to visit. I've got a ticket for Siam park too which looks amazing.thanks 😀
Ps have you any recomendations about how to get to Siam park as I hear it gets very busy. Someone mentioned a free bus?? I'm staying in Los Cristiano's so not sure what's best. Any help would be much appreciated.
You're going at a good time of year which should be a little quieter. There is a free bus from Los Cristianos. I believe it goes from the bus station, but I may be wrong. You should be able to ask any person selling excursions when you arrive (You'll see a few of them!) and they will tell you.
Love it been going there since 1999 got a timeshare at Hollywood mirage los cristanos brought in England had no problems at all
Great video, thanks for posting.
Oh, and 'The sea goes all the way round the island'. Classic!!!!
I went to Playa Las Americas this June and didn't have the drunk youngsters doing crazy things experience. It was actually quite nice. But maybe it gets crazier in the high season. I had cheap lodgings, a cheap flight and good food and drink for cheap prices with good entertainment (live artists everywhere and you could try your hand at karaoke as well). And did some tours (El Teide/La Gomera) and a boat trip for reduced prices. There was this nice Spanish lady on the Av. Santiago Piug who sold them cheaper than other booking offices.
Coach trip to Masca is an experience on its own... Not for faint hearted! :) it's amazing though
You are a life saviour! Wouldn't go there but I changed my mind thanks to your video.
Fantastic job on my island. It is shown than Tenerife is more than sun and beaches. You forgot to mention San Cristóbal de La Laguna (World Heritage) and La Orotava which are two amazing towns. Also, I would add to visit Los Gigantes (cliffs) among other superb places the tourist can find in the island. Anyway great video!! thank you very much!!
You would include La Orotava and La Laguna. These cities are really beautifull where you could see traditional architecture and local gastronomy.
La mejor isla la del mundo.
The best island of the wolrd.
Top.🗻❤
Beautiful island, amazing people....thank you for your hospitality 💪👍
Awesome video. Now this is what i call a very good review. ♡♡♡ better than expedia even
Excellent delivery and production.
Thank you very much for promoting our island!!!
I am going tenerife in July 2021
Tenerife 4K?
Chacho! Chiquito homenaje! Jajaja
My grandparents live in tenerife and I've been to nearly all the places on your top 10 list
I just came back from Tenerife last week and I lived it was there for about 2-3 weeks I stayed at Los Cristianas.
La Laguna is also worth a visit if you're looking for something different trom Santa Cruz and are on the north side of the island :)
Emanuel Engström Great tip! I love La Laguna too.
Keep in mind the weather there is not always sunny. Just in case someone is expecting good weather in the whole island 🏝I live here btw
@@sersimovi todo Tenerife es bonito. Es relax y muy entretenido. De todo monte y playa!!
I'm off to Costa adeje in 10 DAYS!!!!!!!! So glad I saw this video
VIVA MI TIERRA ....gracias por hablar bien de ella 👍👍👍👍
You can go up all the way to Mount Teide, you just have to book a permit in advance, well worth doing! The island "next door" is La Gomera which you can see from the south side of Tenerife also well worth a day trip! Awesome video! 👍
Dude this is so professionally done, you have a great presentation voice too!
siyes Thank You! Love your Lisbon vid too... I'm off there in June :)
iamsiyes ,
I stayed at hotel la siesta last year and I love las americas
que excelente vídeo después de verlo no me quedó otra opción que suscribirme a tu canal.
thanks so much for this! were off to Tenerife in may which isn't my first time but first time with my children so this video was really helpful x
Very nice! I booked my summer holidays for Tenerife last Sunday, can't wait to be there! Your video is really great, nice shots, not too short, not too long, really pleasant to watch. Super-nice editing job. Just subscribed :-). Cheers!
Jérémie Chevalier thanks for the compliment! Really appreciate it :)
Oratava, Humboldt Gardens, Loro Parque, Jungle Park, Cactus Mini Golf, Las Lajas Picnic BBQ area.10kms promenade. Sailboat hire. (Give the ancient tree a miss).
Awesome video! All my favourite spots on my favourite island 💪🏼🌵🌴
A great guide, we're off in 3 weeks thanks
Professional and very well done, thanks I loved watching and it is informative.
I would add some other advices:
- La Laguna: I wonder how is missing in the list as it's a Unesco world heritage city. Walking around the old town would take a couple of hours. It's a good idea stopping by before going to Anaga mountains.
- La Orotava: Other city with a beautiful old town.
- Puerto de la Cruz. Touristic city with a very nice old town.
- To find good restaurants, the north of the island in the north of the island, almost wherever you go it's going to be a good place as locals are very demanding with quality and price. In Los Cristianos or Las Américas I would be starving. Ah! I recommend you to try to avoid franchises, I know it's easier but local food it's going to be better.
- This island is perfect for hiking and many of the most amazing places can be only found by walk.
There are many more places and getting to know the island can take a month or more easily. The best advise, rent a car.
Also I keep for myself other amazing places I don't want them full of people when I go :D
Lovely video, I spent entire winter in tenerife
Yeah!❤️ Tenerife is incredible island❤️ Cool video!
Great video, we’re off to Tenerife at the end of August
In Masca, there’s a very small restaurant where a nice old man served me and my family. Beautiful view, and very nature connected. There’s nothing like it.
Liam Wangnick thanks Liam. I’m actually heading back in a few weeks and was planning to head to Masca so I’ll have a look! :)
and it's just come off the UK quarantine list. Win win!!
I'm going to Tenerife in 4 days can't wait 😀
I love Tenerife.
You CAN go to the top of Teide volcano. You can either obtain a free permit (months before the travel), sleep in the Altavista refuge and go to see the sunrise on the peak. Normally there is nobody to guard the gate before 9 am. You can leave the Altavista refuge about 6 am. Or walk from the car park at 3am :)
Gracias por video.
Nice round up of Tenerife, I love it there two. If you do want to go to the very top of Teide, you can, apply for a permit (limited number, book early) on the national park website.
Im going there next week, cant wait.
Very well presented and professional looking vlog! Taking the family to costa adeje next July and will definitely take your advice and hire a car :)
Thank you! I love Adele too - have a great holiday!
You had me sold at '1 euro British pubs'
You can go to the top of Tiede, you just need a permit, which Spanish people can get or with a tour guide. They only do it in certain languages in certain days though
Love the place, great guide, Siam park for me 😀 I'm a big kid
this is a great video and has really helped me plan out my family holiday cant wait to go
I'm so pleased! It's great to hear comments like this!
Intro music very nice! Thank you for vdo! We are going there next years.
Beautiful island ! We love San blas and El Medano regions. Looking forward to experiencing more of the northern areas....
El Medano has become a favourite of mine. I need to include it in the next video :)
I go here every year it's so amazing and I'm not getting bored XD I'm going in 46 days! And I'm staying in los americas! And I'm staying right next to the beach!
Loooove the video. Really can't wait now to go back for the 4th time in August!
Simplemente.TENERIFE ❤️❤️❤️
Am going tommorrow cant wait
