When I played Silent Hill 2 back in 2020. it really opened my eyes to single player games and the art of story telling. Since then I have played many franchises and have now revolved my channel around analysing single player games. Don't get me wrong, I love multiplayer games, but having a channel revolved around one shooter was exhausting and made me hate competitive games. Hunt Showdown was one of the best games I have ever played but I grew to hate it simply because of my UA-cam channel. I always had to perform for content, it sucks. Now I share my love of story telling in video games and haven't looked back. It's requires a lot more work to produce it, but it's worth it. Red Dead Redemption 2 was terribly slow at the beginning and actually took me months to get into it. but that pacing was completely intentional, the game is a slow fuse burning towards an explosive ending. Arthur's redemption story is something that will never be topped and he's in my opinion the greatest video game protagonist. Silent hill 2 is a must play if you're really into deep narratives.
I only really play multiplayer games now if it’s with other people, I find my self having a lot more fun in single player games where I don’t have to play in a specific way or whatever the meta is. Also I had the same feeling when making 2042 content, having to constantly make content for 1 game ended up having a negative effect and having more variety on the channel has made it more enjoyable for me
@@M1zzyMaz When you have variety, you get a lot of creative freedom. You can talk about anything and someone will find it interesting. Survival Horror is a genre that im deep in right now since it's my favourite. And there's so many to talk about. Just need to stay motivated. It can take me weeks to make a video which can be exhausting in its' self. But worth it.
Great video! Single player games are awesome! I used to be a MP guy back in my teen years on ps3 but only play Single player games now. Skyrim and RDR2 are my favourites, looking forward to this Oblivion remake rumoured to come out this year!
Recently replayed Rdr2 over Christmas and it’s still one of the best games ever IMO, will have to replay Skyrim at some point too before this oblivion remake is out😅
I mostly play single player games. I like a sense of completion with games and to then move on to the next one. I've been compiling a list of every game I've finished and it's looking like about 350 in my life. Multiplayer games would have drastically reduced this number but I never got into them apart from brief spells with Gears of War and COD many years ago.
350 is a solid number dude! Gears of war multiplayer was a lot of fun back in the day shame that the franchise has sort of been forgotten by Xbox but I’m hoping the newest one will be good
@@M1zzyMaz I actually thought it would be over 500 or 600 so I was a bit disappointed with my total! Yeah Gears was really fun back in the day. But I get bored quickly with the multiplayer game loop of most games. Single player just immerses me so much more.
Single player games do tend to have more of a lasting impact, the majority of my favorite games of all time are single player, from games like Final Fantasy VI, to Freelancer, Morrowind, GTA Vice City, Sleeping Dogs, etc etc. Though some mulitplayer games, mostly couch co-op, but some competitive were a blast too. Games like Left 4 Dead, or Conflict Desert Storm I played to death with my brother or friends. Games like C&C Red Alert, Mario Kart/Party, Street Fighter, Killer Instinct, and more were great little party games. Tho to be fair, a number of those multiplayer games could be enjoyed solo. Really, it's when jumping into the MMO side of gaming where things start to go downhill for me. Was a time when I played a bunch of MMO's, but after awhile it just became a repetitive grind. As a result, it's very rare I bother with an MMO. I've also grown tired of the PvP scene. I'll still play games with PvP, but not if it's the primary focus, unless it's simply with friends or family. I'd rather be in a relaxed state while gaming. I'm too old to care if I'm the best anymore, I've dominated in enough games, lol.
I’m sort of the same. It’s rare I’ll play multiplayer games on my own, most of the time I play multiplayer games it’s with friends and it’s more about the interaction and funny moments rather than the game it self. On my own I often tend to drift to single player games and always have. Both formats are enjoyable in their own regards, I strongly believe most of it depends the persons personality
@@M1zzyMaz I def prefer the single player games, lately it's just a matter of time to get into some cause of the initial learning curve because I work so much. Currently I have some of my backlog installed to play once I can manage tho, RDR2, The Last Of Us, Baldur's Gate 3, Resident Evil 2 and 3 Remakes, and X4 Foundations. Have some others like Stranded Dawn, House Flipper, Symphony of War The Nephilim Saga, The Tenants, Parkitect and Patron installed as well. I just haven't gotten around to playing them, it's easier to just hop onto games I'm already familiar with for short bursts, like The Long Dark and Mount & Blade II Bannerlord. Next weekend tho I think I am gonna try and force myself to get started on RDR2, binging it over the weekend.
Excellent video 🙏
Cheers appreciate that🤝🏻

That’s a big and solid backlog, wish I could experience RDR2 for the first time again. Hopefully you’ll enjoy it🤞🏻
