Your getting ready for go time Scott. !!! look forward to hearing more with your new tapper. Our woods will be ready for tapping after this week. A few more weeks before we tap To cold in the VT. Mountain
my woods are in good shape now. I found all of the big leaks but need to wait until the sap runs for the small ones. The tapper works good. Now that I have it right side up I like it a little more.
Still have a few weeks to go in central VT. Weather would be good this week, but still too early , especially with below zero in the forecast. Looking towards the 4th week of February into march for tapping. Hopefully it will be good!
I don't have equipment on my website. I can invoice you and you can pay from that but I need a shipping address to figure shipping. I have talked about them a few times in the videos. I have 3 or 4 guys that have them and they all like them.
The cost of the Exactap or Precision tapper is to high particularly for small operations. The money could be better used upgrading your processing equipment.
Yes they are high, it is all what the producer wants though. Who are we to tell them what they need? All I can do is give them my opinion on the product.
I start in January usually as we get warm being so close to the coast. Vacuuming is on when it warms up. I turned it on Monday and will shut it off if we get a cold stretch.
@@bobbelanger6426 in early but I have made syrup in January before. I have most of the big leaks fixed already and will hold off on the small woods for a few more weeks

I'm early and will hold off on the other three woods. Hope fully I can get the leaks taken care of before it really kicks off.
We have started in North Carolina also.

You have the tapper upside down on the drill.
I figured that out the other day when I was setting up a Milwaukee drill. It worked but I’m interested to see if it makes a difference
Also if you want to maintain an inch and a 1/2 put the spikes back to were you had them and move the outer ones out

When do you typically tap? Are you turning vacuum on?
