I came here just to bring this up. Can't believe this band is related to that lol. Though seeing as this is their big hit, I shouldn't be that surprised lol.
It's weird because this was the first version I heard way back when the via satellite Oldies Coast to Coast and later Good Time Oldies were still around. Everywhere else has the radio edit, even now.
It makes me crazy that there ended up being a connection between Sweeney Todd and the EKT search, because I've loved this album/Nick Gilder for ages. Blew my mind when Whang mentioned Sweeney Todd
l was 10 when this came out. l was living in a Vancouver suburb. Thought he was a chick even then! A little later l got into Yes, Genesis, Crimson, n ELP. Still Love them today!!!

Happy Birthday Nick Gilder born on December 21, 1951. He is a British-Canadian musician who first came to prominence as the frontman for the glam rock band Sweeney Todd. Sweeney Todd had a number one hit, "Roxy Roller", that held on to the top spot in the Canadian music charts for three weeks in 1976. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Gilder
When this song crossed in2 the U.S.A.; we heard the "Bryan Adams" version. Regardless; this song MFin' ROCKS (Nick Gilder's version #1). I was 9 Y.O. when this particular song hit the airwaves in the U.S.A.!!!!!
Nick Gilder @ his best. I grew up on this song (thanks 2 AM 800-CKLW when they were known as the "Big 8"). Though Bryan Adams departed Sweeney Todd prior 2 this song, I do acknowledge his work w/them.
Can someone tell a CD that has the Nick Gilder single and a CD that has the Bryan Adams single ? There is a 4-CD box set called OH WHAT A FEELING: A Vital Collection of Canadian Music that includes it on disc one, but I don’t know which version it is.
@@stephengoldspink191 U betcha, Steve. Though I'm American-born (from Detroit, MI), I pledge my allegiance 2 CANADIAN ROCK & ROLL!!!!!! In my eyes, U R THE MAN!!!!! Thanks, Steve.
The more that I listen 2 this song, it's DEFINITELY Nick Gilder on lead vocals & Bryan Adams on lead guitar. Bryan Adams has a very distinctive sound. It's DEFINITELY Bryan's guitar.
the EKT fans are coming.. no pun intended lol

Is. Nick. Gilder. Still. Alive
Nick had more talent than my little finger.
I'm certain. Plenty of girls would like Gilder to use his little finger to play with girls.
