I'm South African so am feeling good about the Boks, especially after the AB game. My concern for the Boks, AB's, Ireland and France is that by the time the teams reach the semi's, they could be absolutely spent. As rubbish as Aus, England and Wales have been they could fancy their chances as they should be fresher. Argentina could be a serious dark horse on this reasoning
Got to say I'm sure the Boks brains trust recognise this. Hence why we've seen the considerable changes to the team in all the lead up games. The team with the deepest squad will go the furthest especially on the tough side of the draw. Going to be interesting to see how the squad are used through the pool stages to keep players fresh for quaters and onwards.
I love the fact that you're writing South Africa off. Thank you! Sincerely. That is just what we need.
We are never great favourites and always become over-confident when we're expected to win. We do much better when rugby people write us off and we feel we have something to prove.
99.9% of the media think you and Ireland will beat Scotland. Don't worry Scotland are the ones with something to prove and our pundits are always gonna talk us up
100% happy with the underdog tag.
Agreed 🍻 I reckon our boks go undefeated in the pool stages. I think NZ tops their pool and we play France in the quarters. Maybe Scotland learn from the hiding we give them and go on to beat Ireland. Would be hilarious after all the hype if Ireland fail to get out the pool stages.
@@kristian762I like your view
Couldnt have said it better @budyza180. I think SA is going to remind the world why we are the champions.
As a Scot, Ireland winning the RWC would always be my first choice if Scotland were not in the running. May be something to do with heritage, but it would never be a hard pill to swallow
Ireland and Scotland to get of the group !

Nah, I think England had a few at one point. Aus had 1/2 even. & as for mist of same main nowhere near, Samoan/Pacific islanders going to northern hemisphere teams, whether ot be Wales or Romania says thereve been a few. @kurtsudheim825 if they came up through the nations rugby programme, then they're from that country. If they moved over as established professionals then they're imports.
I love it as a south african when people dont even consider us and we are written off just to come and still win everything
When getting out of the pool, it's France or NZ for SA. The Sprinboks have a fantastic winning mentality & are a big time team but they are not beating France at home of the Kiwi's. The smart money is on Ire & SA to get out the pool, but SA are not going past the QF's even if they do make it through. If IRE get NZ, I too think they'll head out but can & will beat France.

Group B is brutal. As an Irish man, Like you said hard to see any of these teams get out of the group stage in good nick. Then a quarter with New Zealand or France. I still remember in 2019 Ireland V France Irish lost pretty much every starting player in the win over France due to the hits in that game. Then they could only field pretty much a B side team in the quarters that Argentina wipe the floor with. I really hope that is not the case this time around. No easy task for Ireland, Scotland or South Africa to get passed the quarters. EDIT: 2015 RWC my bad.
Back in 2015? I was at both the France and Argentina games.
The loss to Argentina was rough. No doubt. They bested us, so no argument.
But the game against France... Jesus wept...that was physically goddamn painful to watch unfold 😣
We won, sure, but we knew before the final whistle that we'd progress no further.
7 of our starters ruled out, one by one. You could FEEL the hope die for the Irish, and see the despair set in. And seeing PoC's career end like that was brutal.
We get called chokers, but that wasn't choking. We'd have to be good enough to win, but lose because we lost our nerve, to rightly call it choking.
But with such a gulf in quality between first and second choice in almost every position across the field, there was basically zero depth, and losing half our bloody team by the end of that game meant any team we could field after that just *wasn't* going to be good enough.
Stuff of nightmares. Still haunts me 😞
Praying to the rugby gods that attrition doesn't curse us so badly ever again 🙏🤞😅
@@elainec6687Ireland this time round have a much better level of depth, in the six nations whenever Jonny went off I think his name is Byrne there was much less significant drop in quality, and its similar all over the pitch, Ireland have the best 15 itw atm and the bench is better than it's ever been, this is the best chance the Irish have ever had IMO
If there are massive injuries then, of the three teams, South Africa has the most depth.
Ireland to beat All Blacks in quarters
I know the World Cup is the main focus right now, understandably, but as a Scottish fan, that discussion about the U20s is something our union desperately needs to have once the World Cup is over. Hell, they've had years to talk about our youth system but seem quite content playing second-tier age group World Cups and losing to Uruguay...
Youth game needs major improvements. Many positives but still 10x more kids playing football than Rugby. Schools should do much more sport not just Rugby.
John , why would it be hard to swallow if ireland won the WC . As a Scot, I hope they do . One interesting fact , scotland have less registered rugby player than most countries, which are certainly lower than all the home nations , lower than kenya, Sri Lanka ,Japan ,Italy and Fiji has almost 3 times as many .For Scotland to put a team together at this level is quite amazing . I'm well aware of the foreign imports , without them, I'd hate to think where we would be . I hope we have a great world cup and all the very best to all the nations competing 👍
NZ beat countries all the time in sports with far less players take softball it doesn't even register in NZ and they would be lucky to have a 1000 players yet they dominated softball for a long time against powerhouses like the US and Japan
Same with cricket NZ have less players than any of the major nations yet have been the most consistent side in world cups since 2011 India have more cricket players than the whole population of NZ
❤
If Ireland don't win (or even get past QF), I'd love Scotland to win. Tough for both of us, I think. This group will be so close between Ireland, Scotland and the Boks. Should make for some great rugby though.
please half of the Scottish team are not even Scottish, thats why there are doing ok for a change
The Boks have a dynamite backline in Libbok, Kolbe, Arendse, Kriel and Moodie. And the forwards are rock solid. Scotland will have their work cut out to beat the Boks. Next week All Blacks vs Boks at Twickenham will be absolutely telling.
No, it will be shadow-boxing - the two teams will treat it like an exhibition match.
@@commentwell3870 came here to say exactly the same thing lol
Libbok couldn't kick snow off a rope. I hope they plan on scoring lots of tries because they sure aren't going to win many games with their place-kicking.
The rivalry between SA and NZ is too strong for this game to be anything other than a full on international test match. Boks have something to prove and winning this game, for either team, is going to build momentum going into the start of the world cup. There's no way the boks treat this as an exhibition game, and therefore the ABs can't afford to.
@@creekyknee Well at least that gives you some hope to cling to

I am with you on this one - with a bit of more pressure - WC pressure and opposition pressure, they will once again, sadly, choke!
I think many are underestimating how much effort the Boks are putting into and preparing for this Scotland opening match. More than the Ireland game. Way more.
@@duPlus3 I so, so much agree - they dont want another "Japan" debacle which, in my humble opinion, is going to mean a Bok Backlash for the Scots!
Ireland are starting their season, first run out for test side against England, low on injury's they are less match fit than SA and NZ but by the time I watch them run out against SA they will be peaking
@@davidroseitg they played Italy on 5 August and a secret game against Portugal????....Coming game against Samoa will not provide much of a test, I dont think.
I don't think FIji beating Wales is any sort of upset at the moment. Wales is woeful and Fiji are playing like a real tier 1 nation.
Wales are massively experimental. They have changed 10, 12, 13 players every match. There is no stability and yea, they are crap. Now they side is chosen and they will be stable. A stable work horse team will get passed Australia who are variable, and good then bad and will make mistakes. I think that they will get passed Fiji who while playing well, won't play much better.A good Cymru team, should get out of the pool.
There was massive upheval with Pivac and the entire script was ripped up. This is the Wales that beat SA in SA. Could Fiji do that? I think not. If you can't beat Australia, you shouldn't beat Cymru. Still they really have been bad, haven't they? And you never know.

So I would like to pose the question: who is beating who in the rub of the clover leaf green and the proof of the eating of the Scottish haggis pudding. Makes one think doesnt it?
i think the suprise of this world cup will be a pacific island team in the semis in either fiji or samoa, and possibly scotland to cause the biggest stir in pool b, them and south africa to get qualify.
The problem with New Zealand is that they've just been through a diabolical two years (for them), so not only are they climbing out of a hole but they are also still hurting badly while they're doing it. They seem to be playing with such a level of intent that you wonder if they're properly sane once they get out there. They are looking to not only better their opponent but literally brutalise them, and they're in this mindset at the exact time when their game is coming together, and there's a world cup about to start.
What absolute nonsense. What hole would that be exactly? While i don't think they are playing well, i do believe that selection choices have made them look worse than they are. As for brutalizing the opponents that has always been the style of forward play we have had that has not changed at all. My only worry is that this may have been the wrong coach.
bros tripping
NZ & SA have been preparing for the past 2 years, while the Northern Hemisphere have won against them and sticking with their same teams. Now you see what happens every 4 years after preparation in the 2 years before the World Cup. Both NZ and South Africa come on very strong.. Everyone calls it peaking, while the North just laughs and says, "Come on."" Now they will realise what the South have been saying for the past 2 years. Because the North will find themselves at the same level they were at when they beat the South in preparation, while the South now have prepared and peeked with their fixed teams in place just like always, at the right time. Good luck to the Northern Hemisphere. You are going to need it. NZ v SA final coming up.
@@bigbendegen2174 I have absolutely very much enjoyed your comment, because not only do 100 percent agreed with it! That has been my observation aswell. As a kiwi/rugby fan, great channel lads. Scotland rugby is impressive ATM. I agree with you the pool B Bok, Irish and Scot games will be brutal. Then they can't risk a banana skin against Tonga either. With Māori and Scottish ancestors, I'm an AB fan, but I'll be hoping Scotland prevails in pool B. @@ashBB2407 how do you figure that given recent records, win percentages, rankings etc??
@DP-cd5wr Well Because Ireland & France squeezed past the Boks on home soil. Both matches were touch & go & could of gone either way. Boks lost a whole year of rugby cause of Covid in 2020, thereby not being in a position to bloody new talent until 2022. 2021 sole focus was Lions. Anyway, 2022 was used to blood & experiment & only just lost to Ireland & France away. So, I don't believe we are Definitely behind France, Ireland & NZ. I believe they at least on par & on recent showings ( not recent results played v each other in 2022) probably just ahead of France & Ireland. I can't say the same v NZ. Goodluck with beating the Bokke, who will be wanting to win the pool B to ensure a favourable semi against France or the Kiwis if they stumbled.
Be interesting to hear this segment repeated after this past weekend.
It’s all speculative at this point in time. All the teams will be up for the game, and to just write off the Springboks is the best incentive for them to show what happens when their backs are against the wall.
As a South African I'm shitting myself for the Scotland game...
Box to be targeting the Scotland game (in case they lose to Ireland). So they need to ensure a win over Scot’s to get through to next round. Think it will be too tough for the Scot’s in that game, so Scotland to decide what game they target as an essential game to win.
The weather will be the one to level the playing field, which means all bets are off and I think this is the year of the Pacific Islands, just look at how Fiji has progressed and Tonga have alot of stars this year, never discount the running game of Samoa. Biggist disappointments on current form, would be England, Wales and maybe Australia if the pressure gets to them, but never count out the Eddie Jones factor. As a South African, I see Scotland as the dark horse. If they can play on the front foot, which may be tough against the Boks, then they have a good chance of winning that game. If Finn doesn’t fire or is injured, then it may be a long day at the office. I can guarantee that the Boks are taking that game very seriously, as if it were a knockout game.
The Scottish pack will go backwards agaisnt us.
The draw is so ridiculous that I'd see Scotland getting out of the group as a bigger achievement than England getting to a semi final.
Ireland vs New Zealand in The FINAL
And Ireland won by 3 points
love Jim and love how the Boks beat all odds Not hardly mentioned as a potential winner
New Zealand! No question!
Scotland needs to blitz the Boks in the first 30 - build a lead and hang on, then play the running coast-to-coast game(which they do pretty well already). They showed vs Fra away that they can cause an upset. The Boks do not have a 10 that can kick, so any lead a Pollard or Steyn gave then going into the last 30 minutes won't be there this time. If the Boks play small wingers(Kolbe/ Arendse) - gotta target them with the high ball - run the fwds ragged and target gaps around the "slow" front 3. Mind you Boks will still have to have an off-game and Scotland their best game to come through. If the Boks can finally show some lineout(variation and tricks[they probably been hiding so far]) and capitalise on the pens and territory gainz their pack can get - then they will probably win. Summary: Boks bring their A game - Boks win easy, Scot bring their A game and Boks not quite on theirs -> Scotland win. Neither bring their A game, down to quality players/moments -> Boks to sneak it. Too add - Scotland can play a full 80(like they have shown recently), All Black gen kill the Boks off in the last 10 -15min due to superior fitness and conditioning(+broken play) -If Scotland can hang in there with 5 to 10min to play -they will have a great chance to pull of an upset.
As Bokke Supporter, I am just going to wait and see as the RWC come back to SH. Bokke or ABs. Scotland has no Squad depth, I just dont know how are you going to win RWC with just Finn Russell, Two rugby Legends dreaming not considering all the facts of the game. Good luck NH
😆
This World Cup is an open one! There are four favourites and some dark horses so don't be surprised if Scotland pull up some suprises for their foes. It is not only about Finn Russell but the whole Scotland side!
nobody is talking about the Scotland vs Boks game - for my money, it will be THE game of the 1st round
Group B mince machine. I'll support the teams that escape it. If one of them did take the title, they would truly deserve it & would have to enter the hall of fame as the best rugby team of all time, coz that's how crap the draw is. An A'er could claim it too, but not as difficult. COYBIG all the same!
I totally agree that Scotland can beat SA, given the style of play. It will be like carrying a wardrobe upstairs on you own but it’s doable. I want Scotland to meet Ireland, both having won all their games but Ireland to win, both progressing to the QF.☘️☘️
Lol.... Not gonna happen.
You are daydreaming
Go back and check Nothern hemispheres against Bokkes tours nhe😅
@MsMihlali this is the World Cup not a end of the year tour. Very big difference
Scott's 11 would be playing at curry cup in SA. He made a great decision moving to Scotland.
The big Jim show is the best on the internet 🎉🎉🎉from a saffa❤
Hi Guys, Im a Kiwi with a Scotish mother. obviously we kiwi';s want our team to win but Scotland still have a big following and respect hear.
Do love the way you guys are so layed back and interact so well together, Go the Scots And NZ,
PS Scolland still has the best national anthem.
Don't be silly, that flower wilted long ago. La Marseillaise is still the best anthem. Allez les Bleues !
so where do you live?

Two experts. I could handle the first fiew minutes and opted for a lebotomy.
NZ to win 4 world cups and break the unbeaten record of 18 a double whammy boom 💪 btw France are only missing Ntamack NZ are missing Retallick and Frizell in the first game
Irish fan here, Irelands and Scotlands world cup is to get out of the group. Anything else is just a bonus. Pity really, because the 3 in our group had a right chance.
As a South African I am more scared of the Scots now then the Irish. Scotland is playing amazing rugby now
Good good
If Scotland beat SA we (Ireland) have a big task. A hurt south africa and a confident Scotland, who will then want to top the group as they'll fancy themselves against France in the QFs
padawan9127 if. 🌸
“Scotland beating South Africa” 😂😂😂hilarious
Shame how the draw has gone as will have 3 of the worlds best teams out by the SF with three of the top 5 in the same pool. I think that side might take too much out of each other as Tonga will be big hitters SA big hitters can’t see anyone from that group winning it. The only way would be to possibly put out as weak a team as possible for Ireland vs Romania and tonga( good as sexton get match time) and then be fresh for SA and scotland. Or give the main team the mission of getting the game out of site in the first half and make huge changes
South Africa always come good in the world cup
2003, 2011 and 2015 don't ring as good world cups that South Africa endured
More luck than anything else
@TheRock90909 ooof 4th RWC in the bag...we've got so much leprechaun luck it ain't funny😂😂😂😂
Writing off South Africa. Beautiful 😂 But do agree, its now or never for Scotland. Have to step up. I feel their forwards will struggle against SA though.
Hey guys, don't put the hex on us:)) I don't think we ( NZ) will win it,it will still be one of France/Ireland.And I wouldn't completely discount SA either.
Gulp gulp jeez mate you must have a sore throat from all the meat you guzzle 😂
ooh,what a comedian.yuk,yuk@@YallNotWhite_YourPINK
Who won the last World Cup hosted in France. South Africa 🇿🇦 ♥️
Any Scott answer me this, do you truly believe your forwards can match the Boks forwards and can you win without the ball? The Scottish have a very good team but the have not played SA's forwards yet.
Scots beating South Africa....you joking right!!!
I started watching your vid and literally stopped because you were discussing Scotland ahead of the Springboks to win. Are you joking?
I personally think now that Ntamack is out of world Cup new Zealand will top the pool. As an Irish fan my only concern is when we play new Zealand and if New Zealand play like they did in 1st 20 minutes against South Africa a few weeks ago, it will be such a tight game and new Zealand may just beat us ( Ireland ) even if Ireland have their best players fit and injury free and even if we play our best . If New Zealand slip up or get a yellow at all we ( irish ) might just beat them by slight chance. I'm sorry to say for South Africans but without De Jager, Pollard, Am and only Libbok as flyhalf I think you might have a hard match against Scotland if they play their best .
I actually think Ireland are the team to beat...would like to say NZ are ,but that's not the case
@@lockk132Ireland were lucky to beat a weaker SA and Australian side at home a few months ago overrated
Scotland no doubt are in good shape right now, but ... I think there's little chance they'll beat SA ... cos SA have noted SCO's upwards trajectory & have said as much - therein lies Scotlands challenge
Would be fantastic for Ireland & Scotland to come out of group , it is possible!
Please continue to write off the Springboks, that's just how we like it. South Africa🇿🇦 is winning this world cup AGAIN, key word AGAIN
I'm for the SH but can't see SA doing the double
If you can beat nz Saturday by say 25 or more then I believe you if nz thrash you then bye bye
Actually beat nz by 17 or more cause that's the biggest loss they have had
So you be;ieve us now?@@randymarsh6679
@randymarsh6679 I guess that world record 28 point win over the ABs was our ticket to winning a 4th RWC😬👌
Why would ireland winning be hard to swallow?
I know you guys didn't give us world cup unforgivable 😅
Ireland will beat Scotland lose to South Africa and Scotland will beat South Africa it will come down points I'd love both ireland and Scotland get out of group.
The proof of the eating will be in the eating of the haggis pudding.
Biased but Ireland top the pool clean sweep and then destroy France or New Zealand in a quarter final.
@eamonlyons8318 I agree except the quarter will be a brutal game
Whichever Tier 1 team with the fewest injuries and suspensions will win.. Hope Ireland can do it but suspect France / AB final.
Sorry Guys, Scotland are not beating South Africa in the RWC, just don't even see it being a close game. 27 - 12. South Africa will beat Ireland too to set up a game with France who will lose to NZ in the group. SA would like NZ in the Final but I without a solid kicker I think NZ may get the win. Scotland is not getting out the pool unless they beat Ireland.
SA and France have something special this world cup.
The problem I see is Scotland’s preparation. In 2023 they’ve only played 2 teams of any consequence; France 3 times and Ireland. It’s a pity because they have the players but…, depth and match ready??? Not so sure. I can see them getting into a 1/4 but that will depend on whether SA and Ireland have a good day out or not; not on Scotland
Who you have beaten on the way to the world cup means nothing. Not a single team has looked like outright winners. Overall i would say that this is the first time any one of the top tier teams could win, which will make this world cup an exciting one to watch. Every top tier team has shown they can win but have also lost when they shouldn't have in their build up leading into the world cup. This is the most balanced world cup to date. All Blacks all the way, but not putting the house on it.
I'm not sure if Scotland beat RSA, but i know I'll be supporting Scotland, i fear the front row will be demolished. Its also fortunate the Bakkes is retired otherwise I fear he'd kill DVW, but boy DVW and DG have looked fantastic.
I just hope that England choose Agdgwongo as lock and Augustus Kwimbe on the wing. These changes will greatly increase England's potential.
Huw Jones is very very good..!
Wales and Oz will fight for second place, I actually expect Fiji to win the group
France vs South Africa final!
No team "on our side of the pool gets past the quarters"! Well, the Boks did!
Watching this after south africa demolished NZ. Thanks for the laugh lads
