No matter how honest the test - real-world mileage may vary. We have seen an improvement in efficiency over the original DSR and those who have actually played with, or even shot it, have had nothing but great things to say.
I've recommend it to Rory before, but I'd sure like to see a tank setup with a high resolution, high accuracy gauge (available from McMaster Carr for $25), full 4500 *cool* fill, and shot counter used instead of the "pod unit of measure." The more accurate these tests are, the better.
@@axledog7297 I don't think he's trying to conduct a scientific test, yet some people try to interpret the results like it is. We certainly aren't backed into a corner with respect to efficiency, but increasing efficiency isn't what people wanted to see -- I think we listened to customers and delivered the DSR+ people wanted. People need to get their hands on it and give us feedback. It's obvious we listen.
@@ironyusa3885 it's all you can do. People will make with the information as they will. At this point it should be common place that efficiency tests have a large number of variables. That are incredibly difficult to repeat.
To add what Connor said, we need the same batch of reball, barrel, and bore.
@@axledog7297 shot counter makes the most sense. How often do you have a cool 4500 fill in a tournament setting?
@@rybobuno that's not the point. The point is showing everyone where the ceiling is so that they can extrapolate from there.
So happy o got this over the Amp or the 170r. This gun shoots amazing
Rory is a class act kind of guy. Always enjoy his videos.
Ever consider doing voice overs?
Do a new test with the Iron man pro upgrade kit!!!
we plan on doing one as soon as we get these back in stock
I like the sound of the dsr
never seen a tank needle bounce like that before😯
I just purchased one of these guns and absolutely love it after playing with it day 1. This is basically an M3 for 1000 dollars. There's ZERO kick and has the sfr to adjust shot quality. In my opinion this is better than a 170r or the shocker amp. And to all the people saying its a gas hog who tf is shooting more than 9 pods out on the field in one game. seriously.
Not impressed personally. Efficiency on par with 2005, HORRIBLE 9v battery tray (who the hell uses wire pigtails anymore) and the tool less features are laughable compared to PE
Glad you like it!
@@frantzracing0 the 170r used the same style battery system. And it’s just as efficient as a 170r
still take the amp all day
I'll stick to my M2 mosair+, Last dye gun with a adjustable LPR.
mine shot great out the box shot even better after 20k shots very very good marker
Bottle size?
If you complain that this gun can only do 7-8 pods + a hopper on whatever tank size/fill he used.....you're shooting way too much LOL
I'd still lean towards a 170r at that price. Just my 2 cents.
What’s up Chad, small world!
10 pods with og dsr ? No different
My 07 cyborg gets like 400 shots per fill. LOL
ehhh... i bet this could be improved a lot. stock barrel is .688 and most paint nowadays rolls thru a .680 and i'm wondering about the SFR.
The sfr would be the main improvement on the dsr+, only the pe geo platform has it so I’m sure a bunch of pe fans are going to erupt about this
@@paula9170 the SFR performs a different role in the DSR vs the IV - fill to fire system vs vent to fire system.
The original DSR Flex can performed essentially the same job, just further downstream, with the additional oring over the first stage port.
There's nothing to "erupt" over here unless someone is ignorant and looking for an argument.
@@axledog7297 I know I’m just saying everyone says everyone steals ideas for markers from each other. This is definitely an improvement to the dsr which I was considering for a while, had this been out a few months ago i might have gotten it
@@axledog7297
I can't believe what I'm seeing. An intelligent person in the UA-cam comments? I feel like I just saw bigfoot riding a unicorn.
@@paula9170 who cares what "everyone" thinks? I'd venture to estimate that well under 10% of players understand or even bother to try to understand how these concepts *truly* work.
Therefore, you can usually bet that the majority ("everyone") are wrong, ignorant to the true facts or just regurgitating what they hear from others. That describes the mass amount of misinformation in paintball.
It's like PlayStation and Xbox fans complaining
Shocker amp does way better …
That is really bad for now a days.
Hopper and 8 tubes.
On a 68/4500.
I would rather 170/r or emek it.
How is that bad?
Don't forget the DSR+ was all stock when it was tested!
Would be beneficial to see when the DSR+ is setup with different settings and the tank with different output pressure, sized barrel and high grade paint.
@@Struggle.Snuggles tank output pressure does nothing for efficiency
@@butacgabe clearly you lack any knowledge regarding marker setup.
@@Struggle.Snuggles sure buddy.
@@Struggle.Snuggles no, he's right output pressure has no meaningful impact on efficiency. The regulator is located at the ASA. The gun sees the same operating pressure downstream from the reg. Makes no difference if the tank is outputting 450 psi or 850 psi.
A closer paint to bore match is far more effective. In a test like this we have no idea the quality of the paint or the match.
I'd get an amp instead
Since you can convert it to mech I think it's a better value as well
@@BB-pg5kl Theres a mech frame coming but idk when, for something that's almost $1k i just think it needed to come with more than a couple updates and some milling.
I know to some people it's more than that but idk, it just feels like a half step instead of a whole step and that's lazy engineers to me or them focusing on the wrong thing ie wasting time to get a small incremental increase. Not that they're bad at all but just not the way I'd have done things. Tends to be what most companies do though because it's a good way to make money and stay in business lol
@@ConTheDon187 thanks for the info about the mech frame. Mech is easily the fastest growing part of paintball right now. The TM40 not having an actual DLX mech frame available at launch was a huge failure IMO. Especially when taking into consideration who the TM40 is named after. Out if curiosity what updates did you want them to do with the DSR?
Buying an AMP over this is a failed IQ test.
So the gun isn’t good or is it I got a gs and I’m getting a Etha 2 Sunday for free for all at lone wolf
great
This gun is amazing.
@@GodOfWar109 so should I get a dsr + or the m3+ used for $600
There’s no way you are getting a m3 plus for 600 maybe a m2 or dm15 or m3 maybe but m3plus no way have a good one
@@killerdro42069 maybe he knows someone selling for that cheap🤷🏽♂️
another terrible gun from dye $1000 for a gun that cant even get 10 pods and this one is supposed to be more efficient lol garbage
The 68/45 tank was filled to maybe 4100 psi.
Stock settings, without a bore match… and still got a hopper and 8 pods (plus a few extra shots). That’s not bad, bro.
It’s a gas hog for what you get, different story if it was $700. For $900 you can get an amp or 170r and get close to double the shots out of a 68/4500. The adjustable solenoid thing is cool but not worth dealing with dye markers when you can get a geo 4 for a bit more for a far superior marker
terrible ur not happy with 8 pods and a hopper on a 4100 fill? geo 4 did 10 pods 170r did 12 so does that mean geo 4 is trash. no. shoot one before u piss all over a gun. played 6 years at nxl and psp and nppl never shot over 10 pods i rock a 77/4500
Another ignorant comment.
@@paula9170 there's more that goes into value proposition than efficiency. And I'm an efficiency nut.
Given your valuation metrics, how do you value the Force? After all, it's one of the top markers in tournament paintball.
