I never realized that this ladder game they do is a permutation, so no matter how you draw the horizontal lines, it will shuffle people into separate categories at the bottom. It would also be fairly difficult for anyone including the "judge" to cheat, as long as the judge doesn't tip off any of the "contestants". Japanese grade schoolers are more hardcore than I thought.
@@jyuviolegrace8212 idk how to explain it but I think if you rewatch it you would know the system. And towa ask them where they want to be place on the top of that ladder. And if you follow towa's lining you would know that in every diagonal line, She follows it until it reach the bottom.
@@jyuviolegrace8212 You either start from the top or the bottom (it gives the same result). Then you start drawing the vertical line, and when you reach a connection with an horizontal line, you follow it until the next vertical line, and you continue from there, until you reach the top or bottom. If you check the video, the letters below are already in place (the groups), and Towa is asking where they want to be placed on the top, without them seeing the paths. Towa prepared beforehand all the diagrams, with the only variable being how they are placed on the top. Obviously, when she is selecting for a group of 5 (like HoloEN Myth), she used a diagram with 5 choices, similarly for the others. Plus, the total number of letters A, B, C and D are made according to how many people will participate. Since Towa is not giving any hints, I'd say is a perfectly fair.

Group B promises to be completely crazy ! It’s already going to be a mad fight between Aqua and Suisei. But Towa is particularly powerful. She still managed to be at the foot of the podium with a joycon disconnect, several monitor failures and an unscheduled race. So without all these malus, she clearly has to compete with the tops without any problem. I am looking forward to this championship and I renew my support to Miko and Luna, my two favorites of 2021 !
Short explanation on how these teams were chosen: You start at a player then you go down until you reach a horizontal line. You MUST then turn and follow that horizontal line (no going down past a horizontal line) until you reach the end
Towa acting like she ain't one of the reasons why that group is so tough. If she didn't have technical issues last time, Marine wouldn't have her bronze trophy.

Aqutan will definitely take her revenge on Suichan in this tournament, they meet in the same team, this will be very interesting, considering that Suichan once carried fbk and akirose with a perfect score in her Bushimachi mode. And Aqua, who won the tournament once With almost perfect drive in every corner. Really really worth the wait🔥🔥
Well that is a protagonist route, but is 99% impossible. Aqua and Suisei and even Peko and Tow had those techniques in every map that Aki will surely have a hard time to catch up with. At this point, the only things that would make those top players lose are technical difficulties.
Group B then: no holds bar rally racing that was shutdown due to high death toll.. Group B now: probably the most bloodiest Mario Kart in hololive history lol
I get that Towa, Suisei, Aqua is in B but we are forgetting Pekora is also there, she might not be as good as these three but damn, we all knew how competitive she gets when in these kinds of events, so yep, B block is gonna be a tough one even to watch..
If RNG sides with Pekora, she's a capable top finisher but I still considering her as a dark horse contender because she may screw up comedically There's also Choco who's actually good in Mario Kart a dark horse contender. There Ollie who has Olivia on her side a dark horse contender as well.
Suisei, Aqua, Towa are very pro to my eyes, Pekora also a solid player. This group is the one I'm looking forward. Team D also had Luna and Marine too. damn.
Group B also has Ollie, who did well on the EN and ID tournament, and Gura, who practiced a lot for the past few weeks and judging from her last Mario Kart stream where she raced Ina, she's the best EN + ID member at the moment, and probably the only threat to the 3 favorites in Group B. Group D is probably the most interesting to watch, since so many of the members are considered to be very good (Aside from Marine and Luna, there's also Ina, Fubuki, Shion, Reine, Bae, Kiara, Subaru and possibly even Lui). Group A and Group C will also be pretty interesting even not having as many favorites as groups B and D
I've been watching the members' most recent Mario Kart streams, and I'd say B group is basically full of aces, with underdogs like Gura and Ollie is not that bad either. D group is also considerably scary, with Marine and Luna being there. But this is Mario Kart. A lot of them are good, but there's always some red shells and a blue shell looming from behind.
@@NotSomeJustinWithoutAMoustache I might have mistaken her with Bae's recent practice collab, my memory keep on mistaking them because of their color scheme. At this point, i wouldn't underestimate anyone in group B. Towa is pretty formidable and there are several underdogs who have been working hard offline. I know a certain shark who has been studying Aqua like crazy.
It might be too early to predict what happens in this tournament since a lot of member will still practice a bunch before it happens, and with practice, depending on how much it is, it could boost someone's abilities a ton. Obviously group B has all the favorites in Aqua, Suisei and Towa, and it's very likely one of those 3 ends up winning the tournament. After them we have other member who are big favorites as well, and always do well in Mario Kart collabs, like Fubuki, Marine, Luna and Okayu. On the EN and ID side, obviously during their tournament Ina was by far the best, but now, Gura has managed to surpass Ina and is the more likely candidate from the branch to win. Bae has done well against Reine in their collab as well, and has mentioned (in a pretty serious tone) that she wants to get better and qualify to the finals. Watame and Kanata have practiced a lot too, and have gotten a lot better, especially Kanata who did better than Luna in the 4th gen collab last time. As for the HoloX members, Lui and Iroha have done a bunch of Mario Kart streams, so they're accustomed to the mechanichs, and Chloe showed yesterday that she's not bad at the game, and has potential to qualify in group A. We also have 3 Wildcards in council who we have never seen race before (Kronii, Sana and Mumei), although Sana mentioned Bae is the best in their gen in Mario Kart, so unless one of those 3 practises a bunch, it will be difficult. And there's also a bunch of other members like IRyS, Kiara, Ollie, Shion, Pekora, Subaru, Lamy, Miko, Roboco, Matsuri... that I didn't even had a chance to mention that could surprise everyone! So happy with this tournament and very excited for it to happen!

aqua, suisei, and towa all seem to be far above peko from what I've seen. Any of them can legitimately drive fairly optimally and break away from the pack and take a solid first while I don't think I've ever seen pekora manage that. It will take a very chaotic and messy race for one of them to not take first on any single track and the point dropoff from the top is really fast that honestly even with mario kart's huge variance I'd be shocked if any of aqua / towa / suisei didn't advance. I guess the next tier is probably pekora / ollie / gura (based on yesteerday) and it just seems unlikely any of them cracks in.

Group B has a loaded stack of the obvious picks to win the cup (Towa, Suisei, Aqua, and Ollie), but no one should sleep on the other groups, especially Group D. Five of the racers in _that_ group could be classified as the sentimental favorites. All in all, this is going to be a thrilling tournament.
Towa is so modest... Everybody knows she is also high tier. Im saying this not because I stan Pekora, but genuinely believe this... The amount pekora plays a game could be considered the highest, she is considered a streaming machine after all, plus she is really competitive so who knows. Plus the newcomers could be crazy good. For all we know Suisei might be on the losing end. This could be a sports anime where the strongest start to decline and the losers last time become the champion after pouring everything they got into training.

Looking back at this and yeah team B is really scary. The fact that okayu and suisei are both b and placed 1st and 2nd respectively and also gura which is 4th overall is also from B.
I really like the idea of having each pool be randomly selected, but when elimination is all but top 3 some seeding might make sense to use. Nothing crazy, maybe just making sure 1st-4th from the last tourney are all in different groups and going random from there. I just feel kinda bad for everyone in Group B since Aqua/Suisei/Towa could literally be the top 3 for the ENTIRE tournament. EDIT: Grammar
I mean if the goal is to be champions better you gotta face them at some point anyways, so better to face them early when the average level of competition is lower. That being said if the goal was to just make it to winner’s (which was the goal for most of the girls last year since Aqua was such a heavy favorite)… oof
Of course everyone is trying to win here, and its true that in terms of determining who ultimately ends up winning, the seeding wouldnt matter. It just seems a bit off that, for example, without any form of seeding, the entire top 4 from the previous year could end up in one pool guaranteeing that one of them doesnt even advance to finals. Im just worried that genuinely competent members that I could easily see getting as high as top 6 in finals like Ollie and Pekora might end up feeling really demoralized from not even making it to finals at all (since we've seen just how seriously some of the talents take this competition in the past). Even in the best case scenerio where one of them manages to knock out Towa, this doesnt really help the problem since now we have a potential top 3 member being eliminated entirely just because they happened to get 4th after losing to just ONE member that was not projected to beat them. In a perfect world where time wasnt an issue, we'd got 3 rounds instead of 2 so each round could take top 6, but from a logistics and organization perspective, i totally get that it just doesnt make sense to make this whole ordeal even more of a time commitment. After all, the only stakes are bragging rights lol.

@@drako-ss She got too frustrated after losing hard in the first tournament, she said she practised for about 5 hours everyday and kept aiming for first place even thought her fans doubted her and told her she can't beat Aqua, and it paid off.
This time Around Suisei said she won't be tryharding and will just enjoy the tournament.
@@ousmaailayoub5727 I see
I never realized that this ladder game they do is a permutation, so no matter how you draw the horizontal lines, it will shuffle people into separate categories at the bottom. It would also be fairly difficult for anyone including the "judge" to cheat, as long as the judge doesn't tip off any of the "contestants".
Japanese grade schoolers are more hardcore than I thought.
can you explain how they sort it? from my perspective doesn't Towa basically get to decide who goes where? She just needs to see the line path right?
@@THEGRAYGRIFFIN I was actually confused because i thought she could just followed her own path.

I think it's a fair way to do it. Towa's method for selection was extremely non-biased, yet Kami-sama has determined that the preliminary rounds will be the most exciting.
Having the 1st and 2nd place finisher from the last tournament in the same group isn't that balanced.
@@anari234 if it was using a seed system to put top 4 fininshers or known strong players into A B C D it would be more balanced, but the nature of pure random is to make it exciting rather than balanced. Interestingly 3rd was Marine the hidden Obaa Killer lol..

This tournament will be crazy good! I'm with Luna Hime, she can do it.

Surprise! The ero cat won, and with 69 points to add on it
Imagine if Akirose Awakened Mode from the most recent tournament is still active and she ends up winning out of everyone in B group
Well that is a protagonist route, but is 99% impossible. Aqua and Suisei and even Peko and Tow had those techniques in every map that Aki will surely have a hard time to catch up with. At this point, the only things that would make those top players lose are technical difficulties.
I do want to live the dreams, Pool Boy.
If RNG sides with Pekora, she's a capable top finisher but I still considering her as a dark horse contender because she may screw up comedically
There's also Choco who's actually good in Mario Kart a dark horse contender. There Ollie who has Olivia on her side a dark horse contender as well.
@@ravenralph123 Choco was last place during the last tournament...
@@Nachtflut That's due to her being disconnected. It's was discussed during Towa and A-chan:s interview with Choco post tournament.

" Gura is in B! "
Gura: And then it became personal with me.
Just hours ago we witnessed Sakamata domination in HoloX Mario Kart, she could potentially be a threat herself over on Group A
I've been watching the members' most recent Mario Kart streams, and I'd say B group is basically full of aces, with underdogs like Gura and Ollie is not that bad either. D group is also considerably scary, with Marine and Luna being there.
But this is Mario Kart. A lot of them are good, but there's always some red shells and a blue shell looming from behind.
IDK Ollie being an underdog... I remember in the EN vs ID relay Olivia and IRyS were giving Ina some trouble in the last round or something.
I wonder if Fauna will be a group B darkhorse? She's pretty good at games like this.
@@NotSomeJustinWithoutAMoustache I might have mistaken her with Bae's recent practice collab, my memory keep on mistaking them because of their color scheme. But then again if Ollie can trigger her focus with Olivia mode, she can be pretty good. If she got distracted too much, she lose her pacing which could cause late drifts and stuff.

Group B has Aqua, Suisei and Towa, but Group D is also interesting.
At this point, i wouldn't underestimate anyone in group B. Towa is pretty formidable and there are several underdogs who have been working hard offline. I know a certain shark who has been studying Aqua like crazy.

Group B will be having so many shonen anime moment. Two champions in the same group + the organizer herself? Holy macaroni.
This is going to be great to watch, with all the gens participating. Mega clippers will have their work cut out for them this year.

Group B has 4 good Mario kart racers (peko, towa, aqua and suisei) that I think will dominate the race.
@@asocatrat09 while anything can happen in the race, the chance that anyone else other than that top 4 can get in is quite small, because the other 7 aren't that good with Mario Kart, the level differences is too large
aqua, suisei, and towa all seem to be far above peko from what I've seen.

Damn, Towa united all of hololive. That's impressive if nothing
This could also be a chance to eliminate some of the tops since mistakes are incredibly costly intheir bracket.
Is better than stomping the decent player holomember. Even top player must hardworking and struggle to win
i think its okay they just want to have fun playing🤷♀️
