@Megalith Very late but on online, you get ths song in the co-op mission 19/20; where half the squad fights the giant aircraft disabling its defense systems, and the other goes to the dessert to take control of a base to launch an attack on said aircraft to take it down (this 2nd squad is the one that gets this song as it is assisting squad A). Its pretty cool honestly, makes you feel like you are ACTUALLY helping in this coordinate operation.
It's strange to to think that this is a niche game. A PSP exclusive at that. This means that the public never did experienced this exact scene and explaining to anyone who wasn't invested in this particular mission is futile. But the developers and composers pulled out a thing no movie, novel, series or game could even match with this particular segment. Mind you, there's no vocals whatsoever in the whole game. This song pops up in a middle mission not important at all. But the enemy comes at you with full force and when this started playing... My man, was i in the zone...
@Megalith don't say that. I remember an ace squadron and an ace pilot comes after you and the stakes are way up high. It knocks you out of your feet because you're not expecting anything out of it. I can't praise this moment enough. Metal gear, red dead, last of us, none of the games after this one pulled such a great surprise upon the player.

Streaking across the sky at 2,000 MPH, you perform a barrel-roll loop and multi-lock with the Argus system and wipe out those who oppose you. Too bad this song was used for a basic anti-ground mission, not a boss match.
If I remember well this songs comes up when you finish an objective and a badass squadron comes after you. I've played this a long time ago but I'm pretty sure this song only comes up when you have to face ace pilots.
In all honesty, the soundtrack isn't terrible at all, even for an Ace Combat game; it's just implemented terribly. I haven't played the game, but I know for example that there's a mission (Nightwatch) where you're trying to save London from the Spiridus, and there's this really depressing music playing in the background, which is odd cause nothing tragic has really happened at all in the mission. It would make more sense to use it after a character death (like how "Into the Dusk" plays after Chopper's death in AC5) or if the Spiridus had already caused the Great London Fire 2.0 and the only objective left was to destroy it over the ruins of its last victims before it could continue to roam the skies.
This music should be used in a tight fast mission where missiles are barraging at your HUD like a multiple head on suicide close call flight or a swift low altitude flight with multiple targets coz its awesome to use XAGMs
Don't know why but this song brings to mind the image of a suicide Mission (I mean a literal one, not the metaphorical one) where you are to injured to come back but stole something to even the playing field against a overwhelming force (imagining getting to pilot a prototype jet). Basically going out fighting in a blaze of glory knowing you aren't coming back. Imagine a campaign leading up to you getting captured, to injured when you escape only to have the mission be destroying as many targets of a enemy force with you racing against a clock with no refuels, no repairs, and no rearming, but piloting a plane that is above all others in class. The mission only ending when you crash, time runs out, or you run out of targets.
@@maurosederic2514 honestly expanding on the concept it is basically taking the common end formula of ace combat of facing off against a prototype super plane and flipping the script, in this hypothetical mission you took the super plane, you are the final boss as it were. Armed with a powerful arsenal but that is all you get (with said arsenal being enough to wipe out everything if used smartly but will be tight, can't afford to miss often.) And I can imagine as the timer gets closer to zero the more your control of the plane gets hampered (double vision from time to time, darkening, shaky controls, etc) as blood loss sets in. The mission not having a happy ending as your journey does reach an end and not all stories have a happy ending (considering you never make it back home) but still allowing the player to have a degree of accomplishment in the fact you went down swinging and you might even have wiped out the enemy utterly and proven yourself a true ace.

Ace Combat X is better, but Joint Assault its good once you play it online. But still, Ace Combat X is way better on story line, missions and the enemy squadron.

And the final... it's... an unforgettable experience... The things I hated about Joint Assault was, aside from the story and IRL instead of Strangereal, it was the enemy planes being easier and moving more "blocky" instead of the smooth and smart enemy AI from X And the camera movement. I like the target camera but the external camera just sucks because it moves too much, and finally the soundtrack I like this song, but it doesn't fit with the normal soundtrack of Joint Assault, and the re-use of old songs Like yeah, I too like old songs playing in multi-player like AC7 and Infinity did But 3D cross ruble also did the same with only a song from 2 and 4, as it makes sense since 3d is a remake of 2 but 4 also is a spiritual remake I think Joint Assault just uses the old songs as a last minute decision
I don't liked a little bit the fact you have to complete the story alone too after some mission , without an organizzated squadron by your side.. but this could be a thing part of the story too.. So! i enjoyed It anyway. However , as ' storyline ' and phisycs , X is better.

except you cant do a barrel roll in this ace combat the only way to get upside down is fly straint and pull a 180 upwards.
Quick reminder antares has allmost the same amount of superweapons kills than Mobius 1, trigger and cipher combined.
32 XMAA in F-22 is very crazily necessary, especially in mission Aces of Aces

The things I hated about Joint Assault was, aside from the story and IRL instead of Strangereal, it was the enemy planes being easier and moving more "blocky" instead of the smooth and smart enemy AI from X
And the camera movement. I like the target camera but the external camera just sucks because it moves too much, and finally the soundtrack
I like this song, but it doesn't fit with the normal soundtrack of Joint Assault, and the re-use of old songs
Like yeah, I too like old songs playing in multi-player like AC7 and Infinity did
But 3D cross ruble also did the same with only a song from 2 and 4, as it makes sense since 3d is a remake of 2 but 4 also is a spiritual remake
I think Joint Assault just uses the old songs as a last minute decision
I don't liked a little bit the fact you have to complete the story alone too after some mission , without an organizzated squadron by your side.. but this could be a thing part of the story too.. So! i enjoyed It anyway. However , as ' storyline ' and phisycs , X is better.
