- Опубліковано 7 вер 2024
- Jacob's brother, 2-time Olympic Slopestyle skier Oscar Wester takes a weekend off his busy freestyle schedule to visit Jacob in Chamonix. Among 50° north faces, chaotic glaciers and serious no-fall zones, Oscar gets a whole new perspective on skiing in the mountains! After getting his feet wet on an deep first day on top of the 3842 meter (12 600 ft) Aiguille du Midi, Oscar comes back the day after ready for some big mountain charging, and it turns out he's a natural!

Dude my ski's are in the corner laughing at me. You fellas are truly amazing!
they are not laughing their saying you now what we must do now!
I like it when you show the Red dot 🔴 on the mountain. Good perspective
Holy Shit, thats like playing STEEP but in real life
Crazy. In control. They make it look easy. I like skiing steeps (40 to 50 degree slopes), but these are REALLY steep and really long.
Wow, great video. I was in Chamonix a long time ago and didn't get to do the Aiguille du Midi. Wish I did now. I did however have a kick ass time.
UA-cam just recommended me this video and I am amazed! Not only great action (one of my bucketlist descents) but also great editing! I subscribed, liked and am hoping for more!
PS: I just uploaded my own edit of spring skiing but the mountains in Madrid aren’t as awesome as Cham... still, the feeling behind it is the same :)
Thanks Philipp! More will come, be so sure! :)
The last few seconds of the vid made me flinch for the poor skis :)
The legends, the myths, the brothers.😍
Great productions - for us lesser mortals that also surf and ski you set the bar extremely high. Awesome images from drone and go-pro action to match. We enjoy warm(ish) water barrels in the Cape and not-so-steep and not-so-deep in the Italian alps, but you add a totally different dimension in Iceland and Chamonix!
Thanks for the kind words!
...now I have to watch all.your videos 😁👍
Epic video, we need more of this😍
A good deal more dangerous than anything I've been doing. Respect!
Great Video Jacob! Your videos are a true inspiration!
Thank you!
Fantastic Jacob! You know your way around some really nice lines! Great job! I really enjoyed the edit. The run out was fun too! Looked exactly like I remembered!
Thank you Brendan! It's a fun run all the way from summit to valley isnt it!
Loved it.❤
Keep up the good work🙌🏼
My Son (8) loves this. Hey want the same down...... from Mont Blanc
Great steep runs and deep powder :)

-:))) well done @migô ;)
fan va surf det ser ut med svängar i brant terräng alltså omg
beror på hur brant och hur mjukt :) inte alltid så surf haha
Where did you guys ride to in the last segment of the Video? Did like it a lot, nice work video you made ;)
that was the way down from the glacier back to the valley, it's known as the "James Bond track"! Pretty fun if you have any legs left after skiing 20 kilometers of off-piste!
Sick edits man, must upload more next season!
Fy fan vad fett 👍🏼

What is that rocket at the top of the midi
very cool stuff. is aiguille du midi easily accessible with a lift?
Thanks! It is very easily accessible (the cablecar puts your right at the top at 3700 meters), but the skiing itself is entirely on your own (no piste maps, no secured trails, no warning signs for crevasses or closed slopes because of avalanche danger etc). If you have a good guide, or have done your homework beforehand, it's an unforgettable experience!
First run in Cham....in those conditions? Might be hard to top.
He got pretty lucky, i must admit!
Süper
Hey Jacob! Awesome video as always! You should consider adding a small section of all the necessary precautions that you take before heading out to the mountain, would give us a nice complete experience of what goes on in your mind before dropping in :) Also, do you usually head out there with a guide? or do you ride solo?
by that i mean checking avy conditions and what not. I am amazed how stable the snow is on such steep terrain
I never wanted to ski anyplace where falling = death.
Then you definitely shouldnt. I quite enjoy that aspect of it, it requires an almost meditative state of focus 🧝♂️
Great job. What a drone you use?
Thanks! DJI Mavic Pro!
Where was the second steep route exactly? Or can you reccomend a Website where the route is visible?. i would love to ride your runs this season
when did they put guard rails on the Midi arete? they weren't there in the early 2000s
I guess there must have been to many people taking a tumble -
I have been there since 2015 and theyre always up from around january and on. Would be so sick if they didnt have them haha, would clear up a lot of ppl who have no business up there!
I sware if i ever ski the midi im taki g bolt cutters and im.going to cut that wire
This was fucking sick
Are Euro skiers just born skiing? Every Europe’s skier I know sees their skis or snowboard as an extra limb.
Go to a mountain filled with “skier beware” warnings, ..... and it’s tracked out.
this is 4 days after a snowfall, buddy
Not as good as my pizza wedges though 😏
Feeling cute might destroy god later
Not good to ski fast on narrow sparse snow covered trails with people standing around.
Not good standing around on narrow sparse snow covered trails with people skiing fast. ;)
Barst maar lullo ThomassD
boring
ok
So glad I don't live in Europe where one walks in the footsteps of many thousands and pretends to be a pioneer.
Like claiming to be badass for sitting on a ride at Disneyland.
Of all possible reasons, that's why you are glad you don't live in Europe? Different strokes, etc 🤷♂️
Pat Heron someone is jealous of our mountains and cheap ski resorts
