- Singapore’s ex-world champion Sheik Ferdous Bin Sheik Alau'ddin qualified for the Men’s Class G (75-80kg) Tanding Final, but it came at a cost as he was left unconscious by an illegal punch by Thailand’s Suthat Bunchit and exited the gymnasium on a stretcher.

If the rules say no punches to the face, well, he punched the guy in the face so that's worth a warning. Seems legit. But...how was that guy flat on the floor THAT long after that hit? Bare-knuckle fighters--hell, fighters in almost any combat sport--take hits to the head much worse than that on a routine basis. This sport reminds me of a combination of the martial art of taekwondo, a little judo thrown in, and a whole lot of soccer flopping.

Could be concussion or something. Everyone takes hit differently. And this is streamlined version of silat, olahraga, that has many rules imposed to make it as friendly as possible for such 'community' based competition.

regardless ... (1) this is an illegal move (2) they are not wearing gloves (3) the hit area is the chin (jaws) ... little flesh or muscles to cushion the hit
