Let's be real here, in just about any other generation Chesnaught would've gone down as a fan favorite but instead it just has to live in Greninja's shadow
Even as a chesnaught fan I feel like people just don't really like this line in general even disregarding comparisons to the other starters. Also I'm like 90% convinced that a huge chunk of people that love greninja at least partially like it because the anime essentially held them at gunpoint to like greninja, so I'm not sure being in the same gen really did a whole lot against it
@InsertFunnyThingHere I'd argue the greninja popularity came before the anime, I think when Nintendo realized how much of a hit Greninja was they cranked its role in the anime up to a 10
@@paulcampbell8324 i agree to an extent. I feel like they realized early that greninja was going to be the most liked, and that it fit Ash and the type of anime they were going for in gen 6, so they gave it a major role, and then a big chunk of people started liking or liked greninja way more than they would have otherwise because of it. But like yeah greninja was almost definitely going to be the most well liked gen 6 starter regardless.

Honestly my only complaint about this video is one of my many complaints about this game in general and that it needs to be sped up as there s just SO MUCH down time between moves. Like it is so ridiculous how slow they made this game IDK how anyone plays it for any length of time. Sure Sword and Shield had its issues but atleast with how long turns took there was some flash and pizzazz with the animations. Hopefully the next game either has better animations, sped up game play, or a skip animations option.
I think that’s fine in some cases, but what kills it here is the lack of commentary in many of the games. Wolfey for example can make a 2 hour run interesting by talking through his thoughts and lines during the down time, which both teaches new players the ins and outs of the game, while also filling up dead space, instead of just dead silence as he switches in Palafin and puts on screen that he’s reading a switch.
@@Endershock1678 Thats fair the pacing would be better if either he removed the down time OR pulled a wolfey and broke down his thought process between move selections. I understand why he wasnt doing it during the match though.

That wouldn’t really make sense though. If they banned every legendary, and then Blood Moon, people would be mad because they banned every legendary, and then this one random pokemon that is good, while Incineroar and Rillaboom are legal.
@@Endershock1678 Sure, but Blood Moon is only obtained in an ingame-event akin to a legendary encounter. You cannot breed it, you get the three guaranteed max IVs, the only reason it isn't banned is that it shares a National Pokédex number with regular Ursaluna and counts as a variant.
So can I ask why Tera Fire Chesnaught over Steel? Steel flips all your weaknesses besides Fire, still resists Steel/Fairy, but also removes your water weakness & are immune to Clear Smog. Tera Steel makes you weak to Fire but you have Rain to undo the weakness, compared to Tera Fire which makes u due to water… I know u didn’t bring Chesnaught vs Dozo but was just curious
The other comments made me realize this is a 2 HR VIDEO AND I AM SO EXCITED TO WATCH THIS. As someone else said, the WolfeyVGC arc is here and I’m so for it
My Chesnaught has pulled through in many of its battles I brought it for. Super underrated Pokémon in my opinion, it can tank quite a few hits with the right Special Defense investment and naturally good Defense. Decent Attack as well.
You should try running Altaria! Definitely not the best pokemon of all time, but it has pretty good supporting moves, workable bulk, and Cloud Nine is just a blank check for weather teams. I’ve been having a lot of fun with it on Showdown
i like the idea of this team but i don't think grass/fighting is a good coverage combo for your main sweeper in this format, and having a big flying weakness in the team is an issue when pelliper is so common, it looked like in a lot of matches you were struggling to eat hits and having to brute force wins with make it rain. also i think the bulletproof tech is cool but if you don't easily threaten gholdengo it's not super useful, it might be worth running shadow claw on your chesnaught or switching to kommo-o with flamethrower, i'm not 100% sure what the solution is but there's definitely some potential here
They were thinking of going for the spiky shield, because if they do and the Rillaboom goes for the grassy glide, then rilla takes chip, tatsu puts it lower and also slower with icy wind and then next turn you still have both threats and it's easier for tatsu to clean up with grassy terrain and tailwind gone, but if they go for the sludge bomb and rilla slides then he just loses as he didn't get the chip and it's just tatsu, the opponent was probably thinking about this decision when they timed out and that's why the auto selected move ended up being meteorbeam
@Julian-rc3iz Despite being such a coin toss the opponent should have expected a spiky shield read and should have went for sludge bomb without overthinking too much

Is there a chance that terra steel chestnaught would have been better than terra fire?
