Thank you so much ! You e,,ncourage me to do mine, however I bought a terrible Brad nailer that I just donate it, was difficult to use ,I hope you can let me know what brand is your, so I don't buy another one is not going to work, please help me.
Thank you👏👏
You are awesome for getting this done. Great job! It all looks amazing! I looked through your blog and videos and I couldn't find where the name of the Sherwin Williams paint color you used. Would you supply it please? Thank you!
I love what you did to your closet. Is it possible to get the dimensions of your shelves. My closet wall dimensions is 86" (12" deep)x122" (22" deep)x30"(15.75" deep) x43.5" (15.75" deep). I am having issues coming up with widths of the hanging section and cu by section. The hanging section will be the 122" wall and the cubby section will be the 86". The other two walls will have dressers.
Hi Stefani, nice work. A suggestion for future projects -- after doing a lot of built-ins and other work in my own house, I realized it was a lot easier for me to do as much pre-finishing as possible before installing and assembling everything. Sanding all the shelves and sides, and priming and painting of the plywood parts before installing, should make things much easier. Then you only have to sand and paint the trim once it's installed, but all the shelves and cavities and all of that will already be finished. Good luck!
I checked the blog and both videos but can’t find the price breakdown comparison. Can you please share the link or list it here ?
You go girl! I’m a girl dad of three, I showed my girls your video! Great job....chalk one up for the girls!
I’d love to hear the total cost and then have a professional come in a price out how much it would have been $$$ !! Love it you did such a beautiful job and so inspirational !l
@Pat Media thank you, I was also curious!
Plywood and wood is overkill for a closet. It'd be cheeper, faster and better (for example: drawers with a brake) if she just used white chipboard which is cheaper and no painting needed. Making drawers all of chipboard is way lot easier than you think.
@@kklc but it looks rubbish and cheap
@@kklc i have that kind of thing in the closets of my new house and they are sagging! Looking to rip them out and get real wood or wire shelves.
@meat ball 3000 @A Leb remember that in the name of the video is "on a Budget".
Stephanie
I wanted to say thank you for the inspiration to build out my closet.
I wish I could send a pic, but I don’t know how.
You are so talented can't believe you you done all that yourself I wouldn't even know we're to start well done
Wow! Wow! Wow!!! You did one hellava job! This was no small undertaking! Very physical work. My late husband and I used to do all sorts of home repair with our old farmhouse so I know what goes into doing something like this. You certainly have some great carpentry skills!
WOW!!! you did an amazing job 👌🏾I just had California Closet to come out and after watching you I'm inspire to do it my self
Me: omg yes this is amazing I’m totally going to do this! I’m pumped!
Also me: what is sandpaper?
Funny!!!!!
It’s like an emery board. Go get it!
My goodness, it turned out beautiful! You were as good as any professional. 🔨🪚
Thank you for your service Stefani. Another very well thought out project.
Hi Stefani, love all of your videos! My sister and I used your video to create my walk in closet and it looks amazing! We still have trim, putty, sand and paint to do ... but I am so excited we pulled it off so far! I think we have watched this video at least ten times while building! So helpful!!!
You are so bad ass. I am definitely interested in the rest of your channel. I am in the middle of my first big project, a chicken run and you have me motivated to get it done.

Looks like you had some help 😆 turned out great 👍🏾
Such a nice job!
Thank you I have been thinking about doing this for a long time and you have made me go for it I love love your closet
Damn, that's amazing!
And you did it by yourself!
Thank you for watching!! 😊
Not true. Her husband is the one who did all the measurements and cuts. All clips are of her just screwing in stuff in besides the cubbies. Still a good job just not solely done by her. If she showed her cutting and doing everything now that would be impressive.
@@edgarperez6175 her husband would have to borrow her tools! Lol
Pretty Amazing Work!!! Thanks for sharing.
You’re hired!!!!!!! So proud of you 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🍾🥂 great job

Meus parabéns. Sou marceneiro no Brasil e poucas vezes vi um trabalho tão bem feito aqui mesmo por profissionais. Muito bom!!!
What?
You get a thumbs up because of your Notorious BIG T-shirt !
This video got recommended to me and I'm so glad it did. You are amazing!! And the closet looks incredible. 😍 I'm just as much of a perfectionist as you and people never understand because they lack the patience, so this is wonderful to watch haha!!
Bravo, great work.
Excelente video ... trabajo te quedo muy hermoso ... fabricare el mismo modelo .... Saludos desde Chile
Great work!
This looks so good! What a boss to do this yourself! Love it.
Very good job girl!!
How can you even do that?! You’re amazingggg!!
Damn girl you did that! The closet looks amazing!
Thank you so much!🤗
@@HomeWithStefani Like I was seriously over here saying to myself “She did that! A woman and her tools are a force to reckon with!”
I knew a guy, who's career, is exactly what you are doing. Custom closets. Yes, it takes days, to cut shelving for a closet.
I liked the extensive use of pocket screws. Noticed your technique of pre-cut spacers so every shelf was exactly the same height. Very good job.
Thank you for noticing! 👍
That was really good
well done
Awesome work! Well done! 👍
Thank you!!
Thank you!!
Thank you!!
Thank you!!
I haven't watched the 3rd part yet but let me just say, this is the most beautiful and amazing closet makeover video I have seen on this website! You made it look so easy and doable, but I know how much work and effort would have gone into the whole thing. And recording the entire process must have added on to the effort as well. Really amazed and inspired by this!
Amazing job. I can tell you, as someone who has had several "custom" jobs done by California Closets, it's no where near the quality of what you have done.
Could you imagine having guys over for a week to do four to five sanding and 4-5 paint coats? Nope
One of my top tips for this kind of project when your going to paint wood. Use primer! Seriously if you try it you will never go back. I prime the wood outside after I cut it. I do the rough sanding outdoors also if I can. After it is all together do a light sanding then paint. You get a very nice smooth finish and less time sanding. If you want an awesome professional finish then use a natural brush and oil based paint. The problem with this method is it off gasses fumes for days.
I did use primer! Thank you for watching!
I thought the finish looked good and I wondered how you did that without primmer. It is hard to get a good finish without primmer. The water in the paint makes the wood grain pop up an gives you a rough finish. Also primer is easier to sand smooth. @@HomeWithStefani
Nice work i think it needs more light and it will be better 💗
Agreed, thank you for watching!
That looks amazing!!! You did such a good job. I just have to get over my fear of cutting wood before I attempt projects like this but I will definitely be using your video and blog whenever I decide to try :)
Thank you so much!! You can totally do it! 🤗💪
A lot of places that sell wood, such as Home Depot and some Lowe’s, also cut the wood to size for no extra charge. If you get it done at those locations, I would add an additional 1/4 to 1/2 inch, and you can just power sand down to size.
Jean Held Thank you!!!
Nossa gostei muito você é muito inteligente. Meus parabéns
Awesome
First of all Outstanding job and thank you for sharing the video! i wondered why you used wood at the top against the ceiling and you lost the corners when you created the "cubbies" not trying to criticize just a question on your thinking process.
Hello Stefani, your work is really awesome. I have a question, how did you put the trims to hide the gaps? did you use glue?
First, amazing job! You did so great with this! Did you hand paint the entire thing?
I would have left the floor trim the white made it pop way more
Great...nice
May I ask why you didn’t sand and paint the wood before installing it? Then you would just have to do touch-ups after installation instead of having to paint inside every cubby and shelf.
maybe blank joint? And then she dont use silicon?
You are a true Handywoman
Thank you!
MY GOODNESS MS. DIVA WITH THE TOOL BELT, YOU DID A FANTASTIC JOB..... I WOULD HAVE NEVER KNOWN IT WAS NOT PROFESSIONALLY DONE... ACTUALLY, YOUR SKILLS ARE JUST AS PROFESSIONAL. AWESOME, BEAUTLFULY ACHIEVED RESULTS. I HAVE TOOL, BUT I HAVE YET TO TAKE ON A JOB THIS BIG.... YOU GIVE ME HOPE AND YOU SURE WERE INSPIRING...... KUDOS DOLL! GREAT VIDEO AND BLOG!
I LOVE to her that!! Thank you so much for watching!! You can doooo it!!🤗💪
Looks amazing and better than some "professional" jobs I have seen 🤙🏼 attention to detail is very much appreciated. I do have a question though. What did you do with the pocket holes? Did you use wood filler on them as well?
Wow! First of all, your carpentry skills are incredible! 🤩 I’ve been doing a lot of research on custom closets which brought me to your UA-cam channel and three part video series; and gotta say, your custom closet build is beautifully done! May I ask what kind of lumber you used for the 2x4s and plywood? (cedar, oak, pine, etc.?) I went to your blog post to see if you mention type of wood, but I didn’t see anything on lumber aside from the cost breakdown. Anyhow- I really enjoyed this custom closet build, I’m going to watch your home office makeover series next! ☺️
Thanks so much, Mira! I have a list of building materials on my Part 1 & Part 2 blog post. Here's the link to part 1: homewithstefani.com/closet-makeover-part-1/ I used regular pine 2x4's, Sande plywood and select pine for the trim from Home Depot 😊
Aren't Stefani's projects incredible!?!? Would you help share her posts on your facebook or instagram?
Home With Stefani Thank you so much! Looking forward to seeing what you post next & watching your channel grow!
Obsessed with your channel n I’m only on video 2
Love it! Thank you for watching
Home With Stefani no worries appreciate if u can sub back I know my channel is hectic but I’m trying to restart lol
Amazing job. We were inspired by your design and just got done installing the base for all of the cabinets. My question is.. what size trim did you use for the 3/4 inch plywood. (1”?)Did you have an overlap on either side of 3/4 board. Less gaps I have to fill the better.
Wow. I am really impressed.
1) Why didn't fix the walls and paint before installing the whole closet?
2) Same question as above but for the floor?
3) Why didn't you sand the wood before installing it?
I am starting to plan my closet makeover as well, so just trying to check how to do it correctly and efficiently.
Overall, really pleased with the hard work and the outcome of it. Great job.
1. She probably didn't fix/paint the walls before installing the closet, because there was a chance she might want to change things along the way. And if you cover blemishes in the wall with your closet pieces, there's no point in fixing it before installing. It's also VERY hard to match caulk color to paint color unless it's white. She was smart to wait until after installing everything to paint everything so it could all match.
2. Same thing with the floor; I wouldn't want to paint concrete floors then paint my closet; there's a chance paint could go everywhere and patio paint is more expensive. And if half the closet floor is getting covered, there's no need to paint a part that won't get seen. You also want to get the majority of your work done inside since you wouldn't be able to do any work while the floor dried.
3. Not sure why she didn't sand before hand, but maybe it was so everything got an even sand. It sucks when you do prep for a project only to realize that you over-sanded a piece of material and now it doesn't fit.
Claire said it best!! I told myself I was going to sand ahead of time but I just got too excited and also sanding in a hot garage during summertime in Florida isn't very enjoyable 😅
ive been trying to talk my wife into this project, and she was against it until this video! thank you!!! ill try to video like you did and show the progress
Awesome! Thanks for watching and good luck with your project!
This is PERFECTION!!! How long did this take you to complete? (Minus the floors) I think I'd keep my carpet.
How did you assemble the upper cubbies? Anything special to attach the vertical to horizontal pieces? I see you using the brad nailer.
