There were only two things that allowed Jace and his brothers to get away with being bastards, Viserys support of them, and the fact that they could claim dragons which was widely thought to be something only true Targaryen dragon heirs can do. If any bastards can claim one, it takes a lot of the legitimacy away from his claim. When Rhaenyra dies, what’s to stop one of the new silver-haired dragon riding bastards from saying that their claim is stronger than Jace’s. The new dragons riders dragons are bigger and fiercer than his, he would stand no chance. But that mongrel comment was too much, I gasped.

I assume Rhaenyra sent Ulf back to King’s Landing as a show of power. Since they stole her throne, Rhaenyra has tried to fight a war more political than battle filled. I think this was her last attempt to show her strength and perhaps get her brothers and the Greens to see reason. Rhaenyra’s hand is lovely right now, beyond the dragons, she has Corlys and the sea, when the Greens have lost Otto, who had their best interest in mind. She has the food blockade, but she also has the people, thanks to the food she sent under the cover of night. And now she has the Riverlands. The Greens are kinda against the ropes and they’re JUST starting to really know it.
