  • Solo reaction to a catchy 80s song. Part of a new series of throwback Thursday reactions to songs I haven't heard in decades, but the kids may not appreciate... or they are busy with school stuff.

Chevy mistaking the drum stand for a table, trying to set both his drink, and then the tin whistle on will always be funny to me. :D

Can't help but think that this pair is the result of the 70's episode of SNL where Loren had Paul in a turkey costume "Still crazy"

Thanks for what you do! I really enjoy watching your channel. I have 2 kids around the same age as yours and we every now and then have an exchange of music where we all get to play 3 videos of each one's choosing...Due to this my daughter's favorite artist is Ozzy and my son's favorite artist is Dr. Hook....It tickles my soul to hear my son sing along to every word of a Dr. Hook song :)

Wow. This really is a great song. Paul Simon is a heck of a writer. What you were talking about with the film work is known as a running shot. Also, the instrument Simon plays is called a tin whistle I believe, but it isn't a pan flute I'm afraid. Those are the ones with several barrels in a descending angle, one being smaller than the next.
I don't know if you're familiar with the show, "Supernatural" that has been around for years now, but one of the leads is a guy named Jensen Ackles who just happens to be quite a musician. At any rate, he and his wife just release their own "cover" of this song, and I think you might enjoy it. They did a wonderful job with it and it certainly goes to show that great music like this will never die. I've left the link to said video below.
I hope you and yours have a wonderful day sir. The same goes for everyone reading as well.
