PATREON : www.patreon.com/maraganger TWITTER : twitter.com/maraganger God damn did I not expect this game to resonate with me so much but hey, what can you do. Ty again to Todd from Happy Shabby Games for sharing the love with me so I too could share it with the homies. B)
Thank you for this video! Love-De-Lic’s legacy (and the legacy of the various studios it’s alumni would go onto create) is too important to be as obscure as it is. “Lack of Love” and “Rule of Rose” are two of my favorite games of all time, and games like “Moon”, “Chulip” and “Chibi Robo” fill me with so much happiness with their shameless emphasis on the importance of love. It’s interesting that all of these games, even the dark surreal psychological horror “Rule of Rose”, are about exploring the importance of love and its necessity in our lives.
It honestly blows me away how you keep finding these hidden gems, also this game SCREAMS "long lost late era PS1 game" in the best kind of way. I love the look of the game, it has such a cozy vibe to it. Honestly I could sit for hours just watching you speak from the heart about why these games are cool.
Thank you for putting 24 Killers on my radar. I just completed Moon for the first time this year and I am digging into the LDL legacy games next and now 24 Killers as well!
All those games are so heartwarming. All about sharing love and passion with others, and doing it in their own way. Glad that someone is took on the torch in such a beautiful unique way. I can’t wait to play this: thank you for making this video
gotta finish this video later. there needs to be a whole lineage and spreadsheet chart of love-de-lic and where each of the devs went afterwards with which game they worked on. anyways you got yourself a sub
So, I'm thinking about what you had to say about time systems in these sorts of games and I can't help but think back to Pathologic 2, one of the first games I played with a time system. One of the fascinating things about Pathologic 2 is that, where you might expect it to ease you into the game so you can learn the mechanics before the timer gets really oppressive, the first day of Pathologic 2 is extraordinarily intense. For story reasons I won't spoil, almost everyone in town hates you and random NPCs will try beating you up, potentially wasting your limited time and resources. From a storytelling perspective, its extremely compelling, though I can't deny that it throws new players far into the deep end. Ultimately, I think its good that 24 Killers aimed for a cozier introduction to its timed schedule, though I can't help but be fascinated by other approaches to introducing players to scheduled content
If I had a nickel for every time Maraganger has introduced me to a game with a quirky, unique, esoteric art style with the word "killer" in the title Id have two nickels, which isnt a lot but its pretty cool it happened twice
gosh dang that intro was well worth the effort. and that patreon segment was smoooooth 😎 the game seems very different from what the title had me expecting! for sure on my radar now
I wrote my high school English final about Love De Lic, I have so much love for this game company and their philosophies. More games need to have the vibe of just meeting silly guys
Ive been watching your old vídeos and it's really cool how u get better with each one, this channel is vibes i like how unique the stuff u talk about is. Anyhow, loving it ❤️.
You totally dropped your new episode at a moment I needed the most (Poste Canada just raised my anxiety through the fucking roof...) Excellent video, I didn't knew about this one and it looks like a really cool game ! Will def check this out for sure, Thanks Mara ! :)
Thank you ! I have indeed, been using a lot of footage from both of them in previous videos but a proper vid on them is in the card in the near future. B)
Love this also Please cover the other games by love-de-lic members like the Skip inc trilogy Giftpia, Chibi robo and of course the most based of all Nintendo games the one the only Captain Rainbow.
Hey i discovered your channel i think by chance, i was looking into youtube to see if someone had posted a gameplay of planet laika and boom i fell in love with your channel. I hope in the future i get the time to enjoy 24 killers but for the moment i have 1 single question what is the ost you used at 3:50 to introduce 24 killers... i don't think i heard anything so peaceful. Thank you
Amazing video as always! I gotta ask though, were you inspired by Thorhighheels and/or Hazel? Noticing similarities here and there in terms of games covered as well as the chill/frank approach and even some music choices while still insufflating your personality, making each video such a treat to watch, regardless of the games (which are great too of course)
This looks awesome thanks for making a video about this, hopefully it gets ported to consules like switch and Xbox. Hopefully with a physical release too ❤
@Maraganger thanks! The video was really cool! I just realised i did watch some other vids ,you seems to cover just the type of video game i love! I will definitely watch more :-) I have another question, i saw during the vid you used the spirtes of some of the characters! Did you manage to exact them from the game or something else?

It's hard not to love the concept of a game where it's core is vibing and hanging out

Your narration is incredibly fun. I do not know a thing about this game but was invested for the whole video.
