Those long long coal trains, takes the breath away, I think one of them was almost half as long as my main line.

Nice video -- thanks for taking time on that combined layout ! (too often I see people skip over the T-TRAK stuff ) This was my 2nd year at the Altoona show, it is such a great show!
Thanks for watching! I try to video as much as I can. I try to be respectful of the other people viewing the layouts as I do not want to interfere so some I skip over if the crowd is too big. Some sections I wanted to film but there was a lot of people around them so I was not able to. I really enjoy them all. Every single one has something cool to see. They do a great show every year!

This Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm is another get together show in Altoona, PA at the Blair County Convention Center.
I hope to be there. I’ve just recently decided to get back into the hobby with N Scale Kato Unitrack after a 35 plus year hiatus.
Then there is an N Scale Weekend coming up September 14 & 15, 2024, at the Blair County Convention Center, Altoona, PA from information I have seen.
I only live about 2 miles away from the Convention Center, so it’s in my backyard so to speak. The Horseshoe Curve is 7 miles away from me and take advantage of going to the Altoona Railroaders Museum if you get a chance. You can Rail Fan near the Museum as the Mainline through Altoona is there and there are some overhead walkways over the Norfolk Southern Tracks.
Thanks for watching! I appreciate all of the information. I will be there in the fall but can not make it this weekend. Out of my family I am the only one who never worked on the railroad. My great grandfather worked in the Juniata yard and my grandfather and dad worked locally here. They all have plaques at the museum. I always enjoyed the horseshoe curve! It has been a while since I have gone there but would like to go again. I still will watch some trains in cresson or behind the train museum a few times a year.
@@BrianWingard My Grandfather worked in the Samuel Rea, Hollidaysburg Car Shop. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to know him well. He passed away when I was 4 years old in 1959.
The Railroad was a big employer in the Altoona area. It was sad to see the Hollidaysburg Car Shop close.

I was surprised at this also! I was there early in the day and a few groups were still adding cars so maybe they added Conrail after I left . Thanks for watching!
