13:00 what a beautiful view of pool and sunset. 9:00 Also a great view. You said carpet in your movie theatre portion. I used to work at a movie theatre and I liked the carpet there. It wasn't plush, it was flat or smooth, but it looked good and was easy to sweep, vacuum, clean. Multi-colored dark colors. I guess because the lights are out to watch movies so the flooring was dark.
Hi FE Will definitely go with something dark - probably grey, maybe with a very slight pattern. If I can actually find a carpet supplier who responds !
Hello Again Yes, I've said it before and I'll say it again, clean luxury house, lovely view from the 2nd floor over the swimming pool. It will be fun to see when you start the garden. Do you expect to move in before Christmas Eve greetings from Norway Nils B-M
Nils The current suggestion from the builder is December 1. I am not entirely convinced, but very hopeful. (1 kids back from HK on the 28th November and 2 kids back from the UK in mid December, so want to be in before that)
Mike I've used those polycarbonate sheets and I lined the rafters spacing to fit sheets I did rafters @ 600mm centre's no purlins fit directly to rafters , Using aluminum with rubber seals .Your sheets look the same twin wall polycarbonate. Good progress 👏
Hi mike! Looking good your house its getting there , cant wait when its totally done🤩 I like your window would you mind if i ask where you get them? Im actually looking for windows . Thanks mike
Hi Manilyn The supplier is called UPVC Windows and Doors. Search for that name on FaceBook Pretty happy with their work, although not quite finished yet
All looking good Mike! Bill walks into his boss’s office one day and says, “Sir, I’ll be straight with you, I know the economy isn’t great, but I’ve got three companies after me, and I’d like to respectfully ask for a raise.” After a few minutes of haggling. The boss finally agrees to give him a 5% raise, and Bill happily gets up to leave. “By the way,' asks the boss as Bill is leaving his office, 'which three companies are after you?” Bill replies, “The electric company, water company, and phone company.”
Must be your day Mike now I'm going to have a go at the carpet. Along the carpet edges /perimeters we use smoth edge it's a ply wood strip 6 or so mm thick x 25mm strip with small pin nails that the carpet hooks to away from the wall so carpet is pressed into then carpet Underlying is upto the smoth edge. Some times called carpet Gripper
Brilliant, thank you Graeme Any idea where to buy carpet here ? I have sent a few messages today online, but not sure I will get any responses. Local building supplies companies have extremely limited offerings.
The dirty kitchen top hung windows could have gas struts to hold windows open ( like cars have in rear door) they need to think what I call outside the box. Because your wife is correct top hung windows is the best keep shower and sun out.
Unfortunately Graeme, I think the decision is made to change these windows out. Your suggestion is excellent, but while the regular crew seem more than able to think outside the box, some of the subcontractors are not so flexible. Real shame, as I really like the concept of those windows.
That down spout on tha gutter looks so dirty thats should have been hidden from view ..thats not a good design a gutter down spout can be seen all over the house..
Good afternoon, Mike. Well it looks like it won't be long until you move in. I was wondering why you don't talk about your solar any longer. Is it still in use? If so, has it reduced your electric bill? Inquiring minds want to know. Like me. So, are you ready for this yet? Because, and I say this on authority, it is THAT TIME! Go away we shall... What's the difference between a hippo and a zippo? One's pretty heavy and the other's a little lighter. 🦛🤣🦛🤣🦛🤣🦛🤣
Will We are a very long way from being off grid, but I am sure it is helping. I think the use of a lot of power tools by the crew is not helping, so we have to wait until we are properly in the house, and also a tweak or two have been made to the settings before we know for sure. I strongly suspect we need more batteries.
Really looking good.
Getting closer Joe !
The pool looks inviting 🏊🏼🤽♀️👍
Mike
You know where we are.
Consider yourself invited !
In my build experience Taiwan is a very good place for build items to be made in.

I used to do quite a lot of business there, and was always impressed with the work culture, including innovative approaches.

looking forward to see how well they hide that split on the stairs risers...
More work done on that today Phil. Not quite there yet, but getting closer.
Is there a Philippines hardy grass variety the likes of Bermuda or Bahama grass for your landscaping?
I need to check this. Some friends nearby have fabulous grass - and I have forgotten what type it is. It is on my list of things to look into.

Not sure what the measurements are here Graeme - I will try to check tomorrow.
