Im getting the Aircross 2 and a traditional slider....until I just stumbled on this Slypod concept just now. Matching the 2 together opens up new doors or creativity but as you said the 11" slide range is a sacrifice over say a standard 24" slider. If I pull the trigger on the Slypod E I will be using this video to set up the combo shots. Great job explaining the process and your studio looks dope/professional. Keep pushing through the youtube grind and your channel will keep blowin up!
you are a life saver !!! The app has changed a lot since then though but the same principles still applies !! I still wish that it was easier to set up
Yeah I tried it again not too long ago and the app has evolved, but hasn't really changed the fundamentals to make this function. lol. Happy to help. Thanks for watching.
Great video, man. This is the most information I've seen regarding the Slypod /Aircross 2 combo. Been debating if I should pick up both (I currently have the aircross 1). Thanks again.
I'd love for an updated video on this. I think the app changed as a lot of these things aren't showing up for me? Like, I want to do a product pan/tilt and keep the gimbal in place while the slider moves across the product. But I have to have at least 2 points or else it won't let me start.
Doubt Me Tech so I get the pan and tilt head and with the gimbal attached to the slypod I can point the camera straight down to my table? Great! Thank you!
Hello there, Hyphenate! Thanks for the video. Like so many others I've had a lot of hiccups getting Slypod and Aircross 2 to work together, but your process has made it work for me. My question is whether you're using an autofocus lens during those shots where you're tracking an object? It's not yet possible to keyframe Moza's followfocus motor, right? One last question. Is there a way to revisit and revise keyframes? Using your example, once you set up keyframe #2, is it possible to go back to the camera at position #1 and do a revision? Thanks a million for all the work you've done making it clearer how to use this amazing gear combo!
Unfortunately I don't think ou can use keyframes integrated with the follow focus motor. You will have to adjust manually with the remote or use autofocus. You can go back in the app and change a keyframe if you need to. Just select the key frame and move it.
Doubt Me Tech Thanks for the reply. Roger in being able to click and drag on the gimbal’s keyframe to change it. What I meant to say was that the slider doesn’t also snap back to that position. I can clarify. Let’s say that I do things exactly as in your video. I’m at keyframe 2 with the slider fully extended. Then I want to revise keyframe 1. Tapping on the “1” does not return the slider to where is should be at “1”. That’s what I was trying to express. The two devices aren’t truly linked in an intelligent adaptive way. You set up your two keyframes, and if you make a mistake you have to start from the beginning. There’s a lot of promise here. I only hope that MOZA gets to creating a more robust app that’s not so arcane. I’m not confident using this on productions where I’m on the clock. And let me say again, you did an amazing job decoding a very obscure piece of software so that all of us out here can at least get some use out of this gear. Hats off to you!
@@retrothing yes unfortunately you're right. The slider will not move back, the gimbal will, but not the slider when you click on a key frame. The system is very flawed and limited when using the 2 together, but for the price range, it let's you do more than most other products. The rhino arc 2 is definitely superior in automated movements, but it's about $3,000.
Wish I read this earlier. Bought the slypod today under the impression it would work with my aircross 2. Most of the time it doesn't work, when it works together they Sr out of sync. Seems like the slypod loses connection, because when it doesn't work I can't controle it. Slypod stays green, app says it is connected but it will not operate. Aircross seems to work everytime. I really hope they fix this, but I doubt it. Key framing the focus motor would be a warm welcome as well.
Yes you can but the app won't control the focus. You will still need to control the focus, so I would recommend using the focus wireless remote control
I spent my entire afternoon trying to have the two work together! I’m trying your workaround, tomorrow. Why don’t they update the app? They made the killer slider application, but the app is terrible! Ciao!
can any1 report if they fix the bugs or improved the performance. I have the slypod and have been thinking about getting the $450 air 2 vs edelkron's $18001HeadPLUS v2 😓. But I'd rather spend $$$ on something that works rather than cheap garbage.
Hey brother I bought this setup back in December and these issues are a little more severe thwm what youre saying. Literally the slypod and aircross NEVER go in sync. 75% of the time the slypod just stays still, the other 25% of thw time there's a delay when the aircorss goes and then when the slypod goes. Ive reached out several times to them to fox these issues with nothing but ignored messages and their Facebook page replies sometimes and then they just stop. Since they used this setup as a selling point and knowing the issues everyone faces they've had to known before they released it. Also after months of failing to acknowledge and fix these issues I see they are releasing a Kickstarter for slypod pro in April so instead of fixing the issues they have, they've spent their energy on releasing another item with possibly the same failed features so I've given them 30 days to fix these issues or my lawyer is filing a lawsuit against them for not obky the cost of the product, but the time spent wasted on trying to get the product to work correctly. The time spent emailing and trying to communicate with the company, etc. So right now I'm trying to gather all the people I can that have these issues to join in and either put pressure on them to fix these issues or to generate a class action suite against them where everyone gets paid. I don't know about you, but I'm generally tired of seeing these larger companies put out products that aren't ready, that use functions that don't work to market their product in such a way to sell their product. These are illegitimate business practices that too many businesses get away with so I say let's take a stand against them and let them know we're not going to let them get away any longer. You down?

I know it’s been three years since you made this, but could you do another one with the latest version of the app. thanks. subbed.
I just needed to say thank you! Do you know if the aircross 2 can point straight down for creative tabletop movies?
Yes it can. With the pan and tilt head on the slypod, you can position it for the Gimbal to be horizontal

I have a Moza Air 2 (not Air Cross). Would that do the same functions?
I'm honestly not sure. Sorry I dont have the answer to that.
Did you ever find out if it works with the Air 2? Thanks

They have updated it, but I personally haven't tried it with the update. I will soon and will do a new video.
Which tripod do you use? I'm going to buy it soon, but I'm having trouble with the tripod problem.
I use this tripod: ua-cam.com/video/0rSW66fUnbw/v-deo.html
