Sergei Polunin/Сергей Полунин
Born in Kherson, Ukraine in 1989, Sergei Polunin / Сергей Полунин is a Russian ballet dancer. Famous for his “once every hundred years” talent, he has incredulous elevation and impeccable technique. From an early age, he displayed glorious dramatic range. Home videos of him as a small boy improvising to Pavarotti are very foretelling. At age 19, he became the youngest ever male principal dancer with London's Royal Ballet company.
Ballet gained an unprecedented new awareness when he danced in Hozier’s viral video ”Take Me To Church.” People who would never have paid any attention to ballet began to watch the tattooed phenom. He is generally attributed with bringing ballet to the modern common man. Classical, yet cutting edge, Sergei starred in Diesel’s “Make Love Not Walls” campaign and has put his mark on many other promotions.
Sergei is a much sought after model and actor. Fashion designers love his breathtaking physique and brooding good looks. He has garnered only positive reviews for his acting. His appearances include Kenneth Branagh's adaptation of the Orient Express, the biographical documentary Dancer, The White Crow, and Red Sparrow.

Natalia Osipova/наталья осипова
Born in Moscow, Natalia Osipova/наталья осипова began formal ballet training at the age of nine. From 1996 to 2004, she studied at the Moscow State Academy of Choreography (The Bolshoi Ballet Academy). From 1995 to 2004 she trained at the Moscow State Academy of Choreography and on graduating entered the corps of the Bolshoi Ballet, where she was promoted to principal in 2010. In 2011 she left the Bolshoi to join the Mikhailovsky Ballet as a principal.
Osipova has appeared as a guest artist with companies around the world. In March 2012 she became a principal of American Ballet Theatre, where she created the title role in Alexei Ratmansky’s The Firebird. Her awards include Golden Masks for her performances in In the Upper Room (2008) and La Sylphide (2009), Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards (Best Female Dancer, 2007, 2010 and 2014), Positano Dance Awards (Best Female Dancer, 2008 and 2011) and a Benois de la Danse Award (Best Female Dancer, 2008).

Intoxicating couple, total symbiosis, everything seems so easy, exquisite moments of floating, of ecstatic floating, everything is weightless, graceful, flexible, velocity, precision, agility, sensuality. Two totally flirtatious deities. Heat, light, languor! A grave, melodious, deep idyllic musical choice which is a skilful contrast with the choreography, all of lightness, the figures follow one another timeless, evanescent, as if unreal. Many thanks, very dear Pam, for having made a welcome little montage or booster shot. Ethereal, animal, carnal, demanding, skillfully worked, studied, oh so many times repeated. Besides pointing out the obvious it was such a joy to see that they never lose what is so significant for Russian classic dance. No other school shows hands off that perfect, that flawless, the perfect artistry of transition from head to the tip of toes and fingertips.
i disagree. Lots of schools/systems do that. The reality here is that they were both chosen at an early age principally for their physique and facility, which was then built upon by their own talent and commitment and that of their parents/family. Quite rightly they attained the pinnacle of their profession, but so do other dancers from other national schools.
xue 717, he was born when Ukraine and Russia were one state, he speaks better Russian than Ukrainian, I saw his interview on Ukrainian TV, he was asked in Ukrainian, and he answered in Russian, in Ukrainian he could only say "goodbye".

@@lila2986 Yes, I know. He trained in the Ukraine when he was a child until he was 11. He then got a scholarship and went to the UK and there he got his highest training. He is the best nowadays thanks to the Royal Ballet School.
