- Experience the Elegance of Romantic Era Music: Explore the Versatility of SWAM String Sections. Witness Andrea seamlessly transition between articulations, all without the need for conventional samples. A musical journey like no other.
The string quintet WAB 112 was composed by Anton Bruckner between 1878 and 1879, originally as a quartet and later expanded to a quintet (2 violins, 2 violas, 1 cello). It is also performed with a string orchestra, including double basses to reinforce the cellos. Due to its highly lyrical nature, the Adagio was chosen to showcase the expressive possibilities of the SWAM String Sections.
In this virtual environment, all SWAM String Sections are brought to life using advanced Audio Modeling technologies such as Room Simulator and Spazializer. These cutting-edge tools meticulously replicate the acoustic reflections within the room, faithfully following its geometry and absorption characteristics.
Instrumentation and Arrangement:
Violins I: Two large SWAM Violin Sections + one SWAM Solo Violin
Violins II: Two large SWAM Violin Sections
Violas I: Two large SWAM Viola Sections
Violas II: Two large SWAM Viola Sections
Cellos: Two large SWAM Cello Sections
Double Basses: One large SWAM Double Bass Section
The arrangement follows the 'German' style, with the first violins on the far left and the second violins on the far right. In the central part of the stage, the violas are on the left, and the cellos are on the right. The double basses are positioned behind the cellos. The room is spacious with excellent sound absorption.
Instrumental Techniques:
Legato: The first note always played with low velocity, subsequent notes with medium velocity.
Portamento: Low velocity on the arrival note.
Vibrato: Always moderately pronounced, with a relatively low velocity.
Excerpt from "String Quintet, WAB 112 - Adagio" by Anton Bruckner, performed by Andrea Ravizza

Acceptable sound here. The other mockups sound like Garritan. I know AudioModeling will only get better though! Congrats on pulling off something that most likely WILL be the future of virtual instruments.
Finally! New age of the orchestral production!🤘
Thank you, Audio Modeling team. I've always wanted the amazing sounds of sampled ensembles but without the hundreds and hundreds of gigabytes of samples. I love orchestral music, extending from classical pieces from the modern more studio-ized use of strings and such.
You don't understand how much this benefits the composers, all these people with big visions in their minds, whose creations could change the world, things that can't be categorized or that could fit in a genre, that revolutionize music and surpass "commercial" orchestral music - and you guys just served them a VERY powerful tool on a silver platter!
I can't wait to try this. I have at least 40 projects where I've used just sample libraries alone, wasn't satisfied. I've tried to make ensembles out of your solo instruments, but I always had some phase issues. I've spent hours upon hours trying to get "that" string section sound, and the wait is over.
Thank you, for your ingenuity and effort to bring us such an impressive and true-sounding product. I can't wait to finally express all those cool ideas that I have in my bag through something that I can actually control, string players that will listen to the exact expression, dynamics and tightness of sound that I need.
This is a good day for virtual instruments.
Thank you very much for your kind words but also giving us a reason of doing that every day. We won't stop working on improving the instruments , sounds and performance : the physical modeling has room for improvement!
You speak my mind. I've also had some of those phasing issues as well. But thank Goodness this instrument collection has come along in such a timely fashion. I do hope @audiomodeling continue to build upon this breakthrough and explore more options and possibilities with modeling other things that often make the "commercial" string libraries sound good, like mic placements or positioning, maybe overhead mics, close and further mics as well for a sense of depth and space. I know this definitely is a big ask... But we trust you to keep building and improving @audiomodeling. Thank you for this amazing instrument collection once again. All the best ❤
Question, have you ever tried Divisimate?
@@TheUnderscore_ of course. They have been our guests at NAMM Show 2019: ua-cam.com/video/mp8JOaYnri4/v-deo.htmlsi=JV3ID0mvn5mDFAmR . They offer free templates for SWAM Solo instruments and they are already working on templates for SWAM String Sections
@@AudioModeling Awesome! Any news about the new Divismate templates for SWAM Strings Sections?
Will there also be a SWAM Brass Sections? That would be a game changer for big band arrangements.
Wooow fantastic. Thank you 🎉👏👏👏👏
Beautiful. Close to the real thing
The 4 section plugins talk to each other, so that you can place all in one room. Do the solo plugins talk to the section plugins as well, so EVERYTHING can be put together? That would be awesome!
Not yet, but it’s planned to be like that. We will release an update for Solo instruments that can be placed in the same room. Stay tuned! 😎
@@AudioModeling Ah, perfetto!
So in the end there will be all sections (Strings, Brass, Woodwinds) and all their solo instruments glued together into one room, sonically interacting with one another with a very small footprint on hardware storage and RAM... and one's bank account (I'm looking at you VSL, Spitfire...)
A dream come true. THANK YOU for your genius and perseverance for getting this done!
@@gabrielreinert8458 that's just the beginning ;-)
Will these be coming to iOS soon? If they do I’ll buy the VST and iOS version for cross campatibility ❤
Hey I love the logo! Any way I can order a t-shirt?
Easy: go to audiomodeling.com and click “MERCHANDISE”
Hello! Fantastic product! Is there an upgrade price for those of us who have the All Bundle?
There are no discounts on SWAM String Sections. We decided to offer it at a convenient price for everyone. kb.audiomodeling.com/en/swam-string-sections/are-there-discounts-or-upgrade-offers-for-owners-of-solo-strings-or-other-products
@@AudioModeling Okay. Unfortunately I will not be able to purchase it at that price. I hope they reconsider that policy in the future.
@@FalKonProducciones 500 dollars is a lot yeah but it is comparable to other libraries in terms of quality and you don't get the huge file sizes and the need for massive loads of ram. I also wish it was cheaper but I don't know the amount of hours, man power, money and R&D that went into making a compact, versatile and high quality ensemble instrument. Hopefully they put it on sale at some point in the future
@@avamomoh Yeah. I know. I have the All in Bundle. It is not cheap. I just expected a certain consideration from AM to those of us who have already spent a lot of money on their products. Loyalty to a brand. It could have been an immediate purchase. Well today, no.
In my opinion it is a disastrous business decision.
This really is such an exciting development. Capturing the behaviour of an instrument with systems of equations is phenomenal (if that's what they've done), and the result should give realistic behaviour where samples fail. I anticipate that within 1 or 2 iterations this will be enough to meet just about any composition challenge. For me though, the price is the killer - I'm from a 3rd world African country and when you do the currency conversion, 500 USD turns into an amount that I could use to buy food for roughly 5 months, so it's a substantial investment. Maybe they would consider a leased-licence or cloud-based access, similar to what East-West have? Either way, sadly it's off the table for me for now 😥
Great sound!Swam series is my favorite orchestra libraries of all.
Recently I'm planning to buy this new String Sections with education discount, but I didn't find how to apply for it. I'm wondering if you could show me how to apply for the education discount as a college student from China. THKS.

well, after listen deeply, i still prefer SYNFUL ORCHESTRA, which is more "present" : transitoires between notes in Synful, ( arpeges, trilles )
No any such transitoires in SWAM, so very soft, clean + all violins are a bit "cold" in SWAM vs SYNFUL, i feel Synful much more "warm" and less "synthetic".
Synful Orchestra has just become FREE, so much thanks to Eric Lindemann. ( i am using intensively Synful Orchestra in much compos since 2005 ! )
Really? Synful is pretty bad according to me.
