  • Stefano Lucato, the CEO of Audio Modeling and the brilliant mind behind SWAM technology introduces our latest creation: SWAM String Sections.
    SWAM String Sections is a suite of four distinct plugins, each dedicated to a specific section of the string orchestra: violins, violas, cellos, and double basses. These aren't just strings; they're designed to mimic a real orchestra section by section, divisi by divisi. You have the freedom to select the size and number of divisi for individual voices, just as you would with a live ensemble.
    What makes SWAM String Sections so astonishingly realistic? It's all thanks to our advanced physical and behavioral modeling technology. This innovation enables us to replicate an orchestral section's behavior as it performs various articulations in a completely natural way. Furthermore, you can virtually place each section within a room, adhering to the principles of room acoustics through intricate geometric reflections.
    The strength of SWAM instruments, as with SWAM Solo Strings, lies in their real-time control capabilities. From staccato/legato to expressive bowing, vibrato, portamento, harmonics, and tremolo - plus countless combinations - you can seamlessly switch between musical styles and articulations without interrupting your creative flow.
    SWAM String Sections caters to both professional producers and enthusiasts looking for an enjoyable musical experience. These instruments are the result of years of dedicated research and development. Stefano invites you to explore the realm of expressiveness and realism that our products offer, ushering in a new way of making music with SWAM and Audio Modeling.

    I feel like this is an instrument collection we all have been waiting for! I can't help but be thankful for the direction that you guys are taking the swam instrument collection in. I can already imagine a full-blown suite of orchestral sections, but not with the rigidity of regular sample libraries, but with all of the intricate details and deep customizability, control and precision that characterizes SWAM instruments. This truly, is a step in the right direction @AudioModeling. Thank you for your commitment to this vision. You'd be off the charts in no time! It can only get better from here, right?
    (By the way... I can bet that Brass and Woodwind Sections are already on their way. So much more to look forward to😉)

    I truly look forward to seeing:
    0.) Are there templates?
    1.) How many instruments are selectable?
    2.) How the multiple instrument play is managed within Cubase
    3.) How they sit in other rooms such as "MIR Pro 3D"... (do they need to be housed in their own reverb space, and then have that space sit in the MIR 3D space?)
    4.) Might we ever get a method to translate instruments or sounds or human pitches from humming or singing into MIDI with camelot, so we can trigger SWAM instruments?

    • @AudioModeling
      @AudioModeling  8 місяців тому +3

      Wow a lot of questions 😅: templates are available for customers for the main DAW as projects. When you buy the product you are going to install 4 different plugins respectively violins , violas, cellos and double basses. So you can add the track you need to build your orchestra, that works in Cubase as in any other DAW. You can select up to 6 players on a section (the number depends on the instruments types) Each plugin has a room simulator that is position simulator and reverb also. The plugins communication allows to control the room type and position from any plugin without the need to apply the same settings on each plugin instances. You can use an external spatializer also turning off the internal room simulator.

    Hello. Congratulations on release of string sections. It is exciting product I was waiting for, but it is not clear to me, how can I build section? For example I load two instances of violas section strings and how they communicate each other with room & instrument position to avoid phase effects and etc? Is Room & Instrument Position different plugin which have to be applied to each swam string section, or it is only one plugin where I can load all those strings? I can't find any info about it. Maybe short video with example will help.

      Hi, you have access to 4 plugins instruments: violins , violas, cellos and double bass. • @Obloha
      @Obloha 8 місяців тому

      @@AudioModeling Thanks for answer and providing a trial version. I can start testing it in evening today. But I have still some questions that I want to know. I found a manual on your site, and from manual it is it not clear to me, that there is "limited" number of players? That means there is antiphasing option for each intrument, but this option is limited to 1 - 3 (for cello) that means I can load 3 instruments playing unisono without antiphasing effect but if I want load 4th instrument (another cello for example), it will start phasing? From videos I understand it as I can load many instruments as I want and it will be done automatically.
      Another question is, is there possible to detune section? I mean if I load one Violin section and detune them in this order - first violin will have -5 cents 2. -2 cents 3. 3cents and 4. 5cents (for one plugin), or saing it otherwise, like detuning supersaw in synth.

    • @AudioModeling
      @AudioModeling  8 місяців тому

      Hi, the Divisi Anti Phasing option is for each section , not a single instrument. i.e the plugin instance. violas, Cellos and DB have up to 4 options. Violins 6. Regarding detuning you can apply it on master tuning menù (under Pitch parameter categories) but you can experiment more with "Player Accuracy" parameter in the home screen if you want apply a bit of randomness on several parameters.

      @@AudioModeling I’m just a hobbyist, so I don’t really know what I’m talking about, but i have all 4 solo string instruments (though not the latest versions), but I don’t really use them for the same reason that I hear here. I don’t know what it is, but it’s as if i couldn’t hear the instruments’ bodies. I don’t hear the wood, i think that describes it best. The attack is too mild even if everything that could influence it is at maximum. A weak attack is not a bad thing by itself, but often I would need that bow to really bite into the string and get a bit scratchy and I couldn’t achieve that and in these samples I hear the same thing. The baroque one seems to be the best for me.
      I’m really not trying to be negative, and i know i sound like that, but as many others I’m also waiting for something that would replace sample based libraries and allow for more control and variation in the sound, so I really do appreciate what you guys are doing, but for me it’s not there yet.
      Do you want me to delete this comment? I’m not trying to make others think less of your products, rather just voice an opinion and you have already heard it (and thank you for the reply). And I do want to emphasize for anyone reading this, I’m not a pro, just a hobbyist, so don’t put much weight on what I wrote.
      (And despite all of this I’m still thinking of getting these on a sale maybe later just to support development. I had a lot of fun making string sections out of a lot of instances of solo instruments, the variation in sound that was achievable is quite amazing compared to what samples can do. It was just too much work to program each violin in a section made up of 16 1st violins individually, but as an experiment it was a lot of fun :) )

      @@AudioModeling I have a question. Because I’m blind. When is this coming to iOS? Because I don’t have a computer. And I would love to get every library.
