You know those honey sticks?.. It might be worth making "Traditional maple syrup" sticks..
Yum!..😋 Then we can at least just try them.. You could get a yield of 200 sticks a jar give or take.. 😉
BTW.. I'm a montanian, and I'm gonna try your method this spring.. Thank you!.. 🤗

Build that raft house - full speed ahead! Kevin's little girl is smart AND cute, warms the cockles of an old mans heart! And Holden is learning the value of work! Love Canadian maple syrup, willing to pay the price for that epicurean delight so that I can baptize my pancakes and waffles with it, but sparingly! Used some to make a sweet and sour sauce for stirfry last week - my wife raved about how good it was! Secret ingredient! Stay safe, as always.

Best proverb for collecting sap ... freezing in the night, above freezing in the day ... best sap flow. 10 major species of trees in which sugar can be tapped. Highest sugar sap % is (of course ~12%) the sugar maple. Others are down to 4%. Maples, walnuts, birch (birch sugar is xylitol - in chewing gum and chemical sugar additives in brewing), osage orange, ironwood, ....

Thank you for making this video. Our home is on 43 acres and after being here for 9 years, we JUST found about 30 maple trees at the back of the property. For our first time ever, We used your bucket idea, made a barrel stove and processed 11 litres of the tastiest maple syrup I have ever had. So thank you for the inspiration :) Just a couple corrections on your video write up...it takes approx 40 litres of sap (not 4) for 1 litre of syrup, and syrup forms at ~219F (at sealevel) not 212F. Again, thank you and keep up the great videos! All the best to you and your family!!

Precious lil snot monster , Kevin & the Mrs. have. .
Dude, chop up banana and put in your pancakes, or at least fry some up in butter and a little syrup.
I bet even your pancakes taste great with that syrup on
I`ve seen that fancy $8.00 a pt Canadian syrup in the store, but it was FAR from being as thick as yours.
It wouldn`t even be worth buying, because I know it wouldn`t taste Anything like your.
    Let alone the outrageous price.
Hell Yea build that boat/house !
make your own floats with Styrofoam, cover them with ``poor man`s fiberglass``.
cover the boat with a layer of titebond II then cover with cotton drop cloth. cover that with glue, then paint with latex paint. Mexicans cover the foam with paper machet, then paint. You could build the house from foam as well, to make it lighter , cover the same way . Kevin must know somewhere he can get a stack of foam lol.

You should get a pole scraper like what is used to get laminated flooring off, for getting the ice off the porch.
Build the raft cabin. That would be cool to build and fish from.
