90% of the products on grocery store shelves is not real food.

Thats all real food, a food is not better or worse when it is heavily processed, it depends on the specific food and on the human that consum that food.

Real food is meat, seafood, fruit and vegetables, a bit of raw dairy (if tolerated) and eggs. I personally am a carnivore and feel my best eating only meat and eggs.

I can attest to that. I am 61, have been carnivore going on 3 years now, I tore my acl, meniscus, and mcl in 2017 in left knee. No surgery offered, just pt. Had lots of pain and stiffness but after being carnivore even though doctor says lots of arthritis there the pain is gone as well as the pain I used to have elsewhere. We kayak, I ride my horse almost daily, and I feel like I am 35 or 40 again. I also got off my 3 prescription meds. One for bp, one for acid reflux, and one for sleeping. I also have maintained a 70 pound weight loss! Thank you Dr. Baker for helping me get my life back!!!

2 years carnivore, just had blood work. Every marker was perfect except LDL, 240.Im 67 years old male.So doctor has ordered a CAC test and I guess than we'll see. I'm betting it's all good.

Mine is around 300 at age 45, CAC showed no deposits. Doctor is unhappy about it, because it doesn't click with his experience.
You'll be just fine, I'm sure.

LDL number is useless by itself. Triglycerides and HDL are the numbers these doctors need to look at. Triglycerides should be lower than HDL. Dr Paul Mason has some good videos on cholesterol. People with high LDL live the longest 😊

First thing I noticed going carnivore...at 51 I suddenly could touch my toes where previously I just couldn't without it hurting. No stretches or exercise just 3 weeks in and I could touch my toes...nuts!

Yeah, once my belly was no longer in the way, forward bends became very easy! I got there by fasting, but then discovered Carnivore, which is also helpful. I am slightly older than you, and I do stretch regularly - got the front splits for the first time in my life just a few months ago. Hopefully, middle splits will be next!

It's kinda funny. My dad had bad knees. My knees are fine, even though I broke a kneecap in my 20's. Sadly, my hands, feet, neck and shoulders have a lot of inflammation-mostly related to overuse, except the three bad discs in my neck. It could be worse though, I guess.
On topic, I used to get the worst headaches you've ever had, that woke me up in the middle of the night. I began supplementing magnesium when I had a serendipitous experience of eating sunflower seeds and magically finding a headache going away (I found out they're high in magnesium.) The expensive doctors never discussed things like blood pressure, blood sugar and electrolytes, but they took a lot of pictures of my spine and charged a fortune.
After I supplemented magnesium, I still had pain, but I never woke up with a 5-alarm headache again. Then I was diagnosed diabetic some years later, and went the keto and fasting route to save my liver. I didn't predict that _most_ of the neck pain would go away. A low-carb diet and fasting became like a religion to me because it changed my life!

    • @buckjones4901
      @buckjones4901 22 дні тому +1

That is great, and you are just keto and that helped your pain go away. Joint problems are a big deal in my family, shoulder, knees, and my hips will bother me on and off, maybe from work. I really need to try and do keto if possible, I am low carb but not at keto levels. I just can't do carnivore, I can't eat enough fat to make me go, I get plugged up and that ain't fun lol.

@@buckjones4901 I had more success keto (there is keto carnivore-it's a matter of the fat/protein ratio.) I've learned that the cruciferous vegetables help me, and even more than that, fasting.
      Best wishes.

So it's not necessarily age per se, it's out of balance diet.
I can say that after a decade of getting my diet right, at 61 my aches and pains are gone. Not less or improved, gone. I cover miles surf fishing hard and while I'll get soreness like when I was young it's generally gone the next day like when I was young.

All old foods aged my joints, everything fermented from yogurt to alcohol, pasteurized dairy, anything designed to have a long shelf life. Cut it out of diet and stopped having joint problems.

I have been ❤keto/carnivore for 4 years now. I never expected help with sciatic. I saw videos suggesting higher fat would help. It has helped alot. When i increased fat (butter) many joint issues went away. I started sleeping through the night, too.

I'm not sure if food affects the health of my joints. All l know is that, after I started to eat real food, my joint pain and stiffness resolved to nothing. Maybe it will come back with a vengeance at one point, who knows. Currently, it feels right.

Hurt my back almost 15 years ago and something didn't heal right leading to shoulder pain, not carrying it right. Got so bad over the years I was worried I wouldn't be able to work, sitting at a desk for more than two hours would lock it up. Was about to get pain meds as much as I didn't want to, just to maybe get a few more years.
Keto and then carnivore cleared it up about 90%. I can do 8 hours at a desk as long as I take the typical breaks and stretch a bit. I'm hoping it goes away completely, but it's just amazing how far it's come in two years so no complaints here!

Can you do a video about triglycerides? Or lab work expectations of someone on carnivore who is also a bodybuilder? Someone very physically active. Been carnivore for 7 months. My triglycerides just keep going up. Low 100s when I started, 235 now.

I’ve heard also that inflammation in the perichondrium shuts down blood flow and therefore nutrient supply to the cartilage. This is because the capillaries in the perichondrium are so small that red blood cells flow in single file. Is this correct Dr Baker? (I’m no doctor or expert in this field)

I cut out the candy and the sugar chocolate out with the oils and my knees were hurting before, so I went back to eating mostly meat with a few vegetables and I just noticed my knee isn't hurting today. I know animal protein rebuilds cartilage I just didn't know how much until now and usually in the past all I heard was to take animal cartilage supplements.

    • @Jchathe

Depends what's going on inside. I had horrendous pain for 4 months coming off a very high plant-based, oxalate-ridden diet. Didn't lose any weight but I persevered because I had heard so many great testimonials. Sure enough I am down 70 pounds from my highest weight after two years of carnivore and many conditions have resolved. I still have inflammation in the knees so am about to give fasting a go. It took a long time for me to get sick so I feel that's why it has taken me longer to resolve issues. All the best to you on your journey to optimum health!
