Theres a ton of talented guitarists out there. But Mark does the most with the least notes of anyone else in the world right now. He's so effortlessly good he has ascended into a master.
Have you checked out other stations' recordings of this band? I'm disappointed in how KCRW captured this band, they made LL's bass sound too "dark" (it's supposed to cut through the drums a bit more, she specifically plays through a Bassman so that her sound isn't so heavy). DJ's drums sound too "bright". I expected KCRW to do a much better job. Listen to the Pitchfork recording, now THAT is worthy of a pressing!
Lui Franco i tend to agree. At first listen I initially enjoyed the contrast in how they are usually mixed/EQ'd but the bass is certainly woofy sounding for sure.
I love this group . The guitar is a beautiful song maker. Its the i dont know how to explain it. My mind wanders on groovey time travel.Sit back imagine being around during a different time
Excellent sound. I love the savory recipe they've created based on some really cool influences. Bandcamp has an interview: daily.bandcamp.com/2018/01/22/khruangbin-con-todo-el-mundo-interview/

depends on what one considers "out of tune". as far as i know they try and resemble the sound of south-east asian music a lot, where microtonal tuning is a completely normal thing and not considered "out of tune".
@@beetleything1864 lol. Sorry for that phrase. I meant that as a compliment, it's just different for my dull ears, which makes me appreciate it even more. What prompted me to make that comment was the slight pitch difference between this performance and the Pitchfork one. I had tried to jam along with the latter video a lot and might had gotten too familiar with the sound, which then only made the pitch shift in this video ever more obvious.
I listen to their performances the way I drank apple juice when I was eight.

English language probably is gonna vanish away whitin a couple of years.
The amount of people who think they can speak it.
@@duraosunda it vanished from you, basing it on your badly structured and gramatically incorrect sentence.
Como me quieres and Como te quiero are my favorites off their new album. I hope to see them live again. They’re extremely talented!!
Great songs. And I hope to see you alive +Ara G. You're extremely beautiful.
perv alert
I just discovered the band. Hope they tour nearby
Is it just me or do these versions sound better than the album?
I've thought that about quite a number of their live performances. They sound so pure, they don't need any studio embellishments.
💯
@@trevekneebone369 I like your word choice there. Pure indeed.
To me the Pitchfork concert is their best sounding to date.
definitely!

I love how Mark's guitar is just ever so slightly out of tune in every one of these live performances.
I noticed that- after a while, I got used to it and became a signature-- it's a real person and not machine manufactured.

@@AHideousPlatypus agreed - sounds kind of pretentious - arsey to say it's just a little bit out of tune - WTF ?
He has a digital tuner literally on his guitar at all times. The tuning you hear is 100% intentional.
