Had a Huawei watch 1. Good, in fact too good for me. I didn't use half of the things it was capable of. This has just enough to be useful but not enough to be wasted on me. The GT fits perfectly between a fully powered smart watch and a fitness only bracelet. Love it :) I'm 64 and this keeps my happy!
Its simple its a watch with extras. I don't need a smart watch. Best looking watch in my collection. Its like comparing a budget car to a luxury car. Both can get you a to b but one does loads stuff you don't need and costs a fortune
Well the 'others' section on the workout part is freaking accurate esp for gym workout. The heart rate monitor is accurate af. Better then samsung weirdly

I was hesitant at first to change to huawei watch gt coming from samsung gear sport but after trying it out for five days with more than 60% of battery left where it is always connected to phone via bluetooth and having the true sleep and 24 heart rate monitor always on... I realized how good the watch is with the basic functions

Mine is free, courtesy of p30 pro... I like it, cause it tracks vital and sports, while still looking like a typical watch, and I don't have to charge it every day although I exercise every day
In case anyone wants to recommend the Garmin Fenix 5s Plus. I don't want to spend that much on a watch since I won't be using 80% of its functions. For me, the main things are decent battery life(main reason why I returned the Apple watch), good screen, good for swimming(nature of my work and hobby), weather forecast and I occasionally use timer & stopwatch on it. Hi David, and thank you for your questions. Looks like it could be a good fit to what you need, however I cannot say for sure about the continuous swimming and underwater performance. The only watch I've swimmed really a lot is the Amazfit Stratos.

Actually that's my first smart watch ever. I was looking for a smart watch that looks like a common watch, which I definitely found. I'm not using 90% of what the watch could do or couldn't. For me and for the 150€ I've payed, it definitely was worth it. I'm happy untill the watch dies in my arms.

Hi, do you swim with this watch much? I'm a swimming instructor and I also train lifeguard sometimes. Plus my regular swimming exercise, I spend 2 hours in water everyday on average. I've read many reviews that said Stratos doesn't track swimming very well. Especially if you need to take a break in between sets. You can't pause the timer. Lastly the screen seems to be better on GT Active than the Stratos and I would like the battery to last as long as possible. Would you still recommend Stratos over this one? I don't run at all.
I just bought this watch for 80 euros new. Important things to me were battery life and heart rate monitor, all else is extra. Changing song and storing music in the device would have been nice but can't have it all at this price. I'll upgrade when there is something with all of this I mentioned for 100 euros.
@@TechMishka Here in Finland Huawei gives these watches for free when you buy a new P30 Pro. Lots of them get sold unopened because people only want the phone. Thats how I got mine, loads of them on the second hand sales sites. Warranty still applies even tho its technically second hand. I saw brand new ones on Amazon DE for 130 euros.

Wear OS Achilles heel is the battery life, well I'm fine with the limitations of this smartwatch, the battery life is freakin' stellar compared to anything out there.
Between Amazfit Verge and this watch (Huawei GT 1st gen) which is better and why? Are there alot of watchfaces available in Huawei app? Doesn't seem to be many for amazfit.
The most important feature for me is to just see what the message I just received was about. I'm wearing gloves at work and it's super inconvenient to try to manhandle my too large of a smart phone from my pocket, somehow with gloves on open the screen, pull down notifications etc. No way. Just gimme a watch that shows the message. I don't need to reply to it. In addition to that, I use it as a fitness tracker and the Huawei Health app seems to be really good in conjunction with the watch. Lot's of data and training programs.
I have it and find it quit good watch for the price excellent battery life and built materials good training tracker at least for my cycling activity.. yes nothing fancy to offer but I get what I need
Yes that is the set up I have, it runs great with iOS , previously I had a Fitbit 3 which was not good at all ie sleep tracking it had me walking whilst asleep so was not accurate whereas the gt does not so is more accurate and it is more interesting, 😎🏝🏖👍🏽
If you ask me, if you are looking for watch, choose this watch because of battery life. I have Gear S3 and in 90% situations I'm using fit functions and to see notifications(not answering on them). Gear S3 is more complete watch but trust you will not use answering on phone calls, answering on messages on the watch- trust me. If you are looking for a watch choose battery life not gimmick functions like store (many watch faces (90%of it) are garbage), you will not answer on messages on the watch, you will not talk on the watch. 3 day battery in not good enough.

I have given it to a close friend of mine, and he is maximizing the usage - all sort of apps, alarms, and so on. No sign of slowing down; ANd battery life is still very decent. He likes it so much that now asks about the GT2.

Huawei GT is sleek n lightweight but i always end up using the samsung galaxy watch. Simply because galaxy watch has a lot more features. Make n take calls. Plenty of watch faces to choose from. AOD. 😊

Hhmm, right now most cheaper watches are not that great at blood pressure. I think the Honor Magic is among the best cheaper solutions but it is not that cheap. Mi Band 4 does most of that good, without blood pressure though.
I still like the Stratos better due to the fact it has transflective display - to me that is essential. But the Watch GT has better build quality, looks nicer and has quite an awesome display.
For me its great. I just bought it. If you ask me i dont need some watch with possibilities of the phone. Its little helper to alert you when you have new messeges and other stuff on your phone. Only stuff i will add its WhatsApp, Messenger and phone calls and messages. Just if someone is calling me iz will ne nice to ne able Pick up or send message without taking phone out of pocket. Other stuff like UA-cam and other apps are not necesery on this. Maybe some music too but thats it. This is not suppose to be our other phone, its our little gadget to help us and to wear it like a little extra with our wardrobe style. Or like fitness acestory like this watch. It can ne fitness and casual its nice watch to wear when you are at some plave Nice too.

For many people this is a decisive factor - the ability to have a different feeling every time. Or to match a specific style - could be very effective. For me personally - it doesn't matter - I usually use just one face for a very long period of time.
Hi, Just received the Huawei P30 phone and GT C7C watch, although impressed with some of the functions on the watch, I am very disappointed that there is no apps on it that I can use for golf GPS. Does anyone know if you can download Google Play Store or any other application onto the Huawei phone that allows for a golf app to be downloaded from the phone to the watch and if so how to do it.
There is no way to add apps - the OS of the watch is very lightweight and optimized for battery life. This is the way some vendors go nowadays - no apps and greater battery; Otherwise you get a Wear-OS based watch with 1-2 day battery life.

Yes, Screen turns on and display the beginning of the message with app name (And icons for popular apps like WhatsApp) 3. You mean taking a screenshot of incoming message screen? No, it's not possible. Its more a glorified fitness tracker rather than a fully functional smartwatch like Galaxy gear or Android wear. But for me, it has all the functions which "I" use.

I wear the Stratos mostly because of the ability to unlock MIUI devices. The Watch GT is great for measuring vitals and the design is much more appealing. And it now supports always-on display.

Yeah, Huawei have quite fabulously looking devices. In fact - if we don't take performance and software in consideration - I beleive they have always been the best in terms of style.
2:14 man there's a huge difference between megabytes and gigabytes.. This device doesn't have those numbers in "gigs " - it's "megs" ... No 16 gigs of RAM in this cool device , neither 128gigs of storage.. 😉✌️
that is true and it'sa mistake on my end. The information given to me was showing the GB-part. The ram with this watch is way less and storage is anyways not accessible.
I had an Asus smartwatch I ended up deleting all the apps that I installed, For a watch notifications and tracking is more than enough, the only app I would care to install is the timer and it is pre-installed.
Well, literately five years later and the only good looking and functional Huawei watch is still only the first one..... Hope they switch back to a premium design and a better OS!
@@TechMishka I think one of the problems with WearOS was that it had lots of battery usage, and for Huawei to make the battery life long, I guess they had to make their OS smaller and lighter. Maybe one day someone would find a way to compress a phone into a smartwatch and have it run like a phone with a smaller screen...
So i want to buy this steroided smartwatch so i have a few questions. The most importants ones for me is that, can i control my music apps with it? If the watch supports maps and apps - it will have battery life no more than 2-3 days; This one is great for fitness tracking and getting notifications. Battery lasts around a week.

True that! But in my opinion they did it not because they want to be unique, but mostly because the hardware can't handle a power-hungry os - there is a single-core 32-bit CPU, and only 16MB RAM - so it is quite similar to the performance of the Honor Band 3.

Verge is smarter, GT has a lot better battery life. The Amazfit device supports a lot of aftermarket watchfaces that you can find online for free.

I returned mine. Lovely watch & loved everything about it EXCEPT the massive size of the watch, just too big for me.

For me its great. I just bought it. If you ask me i dont need some watch with possibilities of the phone. Its little helper to alert you when you have new messeges and other stuff on your phone. Only stuff i will add its WhatsApp, Messenger and phone calls and messages. Just if someone is calling me iz will ne nice to ne able Pick up or send message without taking phone out of pocket. Other stuff like UA-cam and other apps are not necesery on this. Maybe some music too but thats it. This is not suppose to be our other phone, its our little gadget to help us and to wear it like a little extra with our wardrobe style. Or like fitness acestory like this watch. It can ne fitness and casual its nice watch to wear when you are at some plave Nice too.

Hi ikkool, that is correct - you have music control, and you can pair it with any Android smartphone that has bluetooth and supports the Huawei Health App (meaning android above 5.0.)

Great video, A really good info packed BIO for the GT, I'd like a realtime test result on the watch uptime since I know a lot of companies say 14 days but thats idle.
It actually is doing these 14 days. I manage to squeeze around 3 weeks, but I don't get notifications for everything - just for calls and SMS.

I can highlight three which are well worth the money - Amazfit Stratos, Huawei Watch GT (or honor Magic), and Ticwatch S2. I like the Stratos best, but that is personal preference and you may like another one better.

Huawei have implemented fitness tracking in all of their current wearable devices and they work remarkably well!

Hi but do this watch looses charge in heat? A friend of mine got the zeblase Thor and it died in one day, never came on again, he works in construction in the sun a lot, he said the watch got really hot on his wrist. The GT is a lot cheaper now and it seem to fit my needs. Who can assist me?
I usually get 5-6 days of battery life, even during the summer. I don't think the battery degrades.

For many people this is a decisive factor - the ability to have a different feeling every time. Or to match a specific style - could be very effective. For me personally - it doesn't matter - I usually use just one face for a very long period of time.
Hi, Just received the Huawei P30 phone and GT C7C watch, although impressed with some of the functions on the watch, I am very disappointed that there is no apps on it that I can use for golf GPS. Does anyone know if you can download Google Play Store or any other application onto the Huawei phone that allows for a golf app to be downloaded from the phone to the watch and if so how to do it.
There is no way to add apps - the OS of the watch is very lightweight and optimized for battery life. This is the way some vendors go nowadays - no apps and greater battery; Otherwise you get a Wear-OS based watch with 1-2 day battery life.

For all the persons that like Sportsapp like STRAVA , RUNTASTIC or simply GOOGLE FIT:
HUAWEI GIVE NOT THE POSSIBILITY TO SEND THE ACTIVITIES TO THESE APPS, AND ONLY DOES NOT ALLOW TO GENERATE A GPX OR TCP FILE THAT YOU CAN USE TO IMPORT YOUR WORKOUTS IN THE SPORTS APP.
This is very disappointing and seems that Huawei does not care about Clients complaining and asking to add this feature to the product.
Looks like Huawei are listening to their customers more than what it used to be in the past. I also hope they will work on improving in these areas.

It is not there; There are a few similar ones, though. There also is a way to install that one, but it will need some efforts.

Both are very similar. The Watch GT GPS and sleep tracking are a bit more precise. The rest is down to personal choice and preference.

I bought one too, I had an asus smartwatch and never used any of teh apps I download on it. I just need a watch/tracker, for apps get a phone.
After all the firmware updates, the Stopwatch still won´t measure a full hour… it freezes at 59:59.59...

@@TechMishka Excellent Device, terrible customer service by Huawei Latinamerica, specifically by Ismael Flores. The GT cannot run the stopwatch for 1 full hour, that to July 20 2019 ... Firmware 1.0.8..34, according to whom is not possible to do it because it was not designed accordingly !!!
It is better to ignore your clients than to treat them as ignorant, way to go Huawei.

1. No, you can keep the Always on Display for 5 min only.
2. Yes, Screen turns on and display the beginning of the message with app name (And icons for popular apps like WhatsApp)
3. You mean taking a screenshot of incoming message screen? No, it's not possible.
Its more a glorified fitness tracker rather than a fully functional smartwatch like Galaxy gear or Android wear. But for me, it has all the functions which "I" use.

I wear the Stratos mostly because of the ability to unlock MIUI devices. The Watch GT is great for measuring vitals and the design is much more appealing. And it now supports always-on display.

This device doesn't have those numbers in "gigs " - it's "megs" ... No 16 gigs of RAM in this cool device , neither 128gigs of storage.. 😉✌️
that is true and it'sa mistake on my end. The information given to me was showing the GB-part. The ram with this watch is way less and storage is anyways not accessible.

How to increase it's show time from 5 min to 10 to 15 min or more than that.
With the latest firmware version you can have the always-on display. Other than that - there is no control for such settings.

I had an Asus smartwatch I ended up deleting all the apps that I installed, For a watch notifications and tracking is more than enough, the only app I would care to install is the timer and it is pre-installed.

@@TechMishka I think one of the problems with WearOS was that it had lots of battery usage, and for Huawei to make the battery life long, I guess they had to make their OS smaller and lighter. Maybe one day someone would find a way to compress a phone into a smartwatch and have it run like a phone with a smaller screen...

So i want to buy this steroided smartwatch so i have a few questions. The most importants ones for me is that, can i control my music apps with it? The waterproof design is truly waterproof? /my last watch, okay it was a noname one, it died after a few dives./ If i enable 24h heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking, does it affect battery life? If yes, can it survive for at least 5-7 days? Can i enable navigation? I mean if i switch it on the phone, can it show me like "50 meter and turn left" for example. If the watch supports maps and apps - it will have battery life no more than 2-3 days;
This one is great for fitness tracking and getting notifications. Battery lasts around a week.

nice video i dislike the fact it runs on their own os they are getting the same manners as APPLE and SAMSUNG to glue one to them no huawei ,APPLE,SAMSUNG, these ideas belong to the past
True that! But in my opinion they did it not because they want to be unique, but mostly because the hardware can't handle a power-hungry os - there is a single-core 32-bit CPU, and only 16MB RAM - so it is quite similar to the performance of the Honor Band 3.
