I hooked the biggest Jack Crevalle I had ever caught in 2 foot of water in Perdido Bay. I had no idea what I got into. I had only seen them out in the canal and pass. It felt like forever to get him in.
We were down, lost power for a couple of hours early Friday morning. Always hoping to run into you down there one day. Tried my hand at some surf fishing this time. Keep posting the great videos!
Just wanna say your videos are awesome & my wife and I enjoy you fishing with your mom & love your catch & cooks & happy mothers day to your mom & God bless.
We have that liter problem bad here in Louisiana. So bad that they've actually closed public fishing areas just to clean it. Aggravates the stew out of me that people can't take their own trash with them.
Always love the backyard fishing👍👍 It amazes me with those big drum how you can fight one and it never goes more than 10 or 15 yards and the next one takes line like you hooked a truck.
Wow … 10 pound test ….. absolutely amazing Catch …. And may I say you are a true Gentleman! ….. we don’t need to keep all the big ones … Let them Live ….. I only keep the ones I’m gonna eat …… as you do 👍👍🏆🇺🇸
I was at the beach this weekend and unfortunately didn’t catch anything but Whatching your videos make me feel like I’m catching them. Love the channel keep it up man
Boy! what a great video, and again good to see your mom fishing. I was imagining one of my grandson's who are 11(twins) holding on to that big drum! Why go off shore when you have that in your backyard. Making me want to find a way back down there this summer. Happy mothers day to your mom from NW La. Randy
I live in NH and we have floating docks you can pull onto shore during storms not sure if that would work for you made from used plastic drums I know its ( hillbilly ) but it works 🙂
I don't know if I've seen you fish your backyard yet. This was fun to see. That drum was something else! I love your content. Been watching for quite a while now. My and mine are in Atlanta, so we always vacation in the gulf. Watching your videos almost feels like getting away for a little bit.
What a joy it must be to simply cast out and catch fish in your backyard! Definitely a dream of mine, really enjoy watching you live yours. My parents live in Fairhope, but we haven’t had much luck fishing there yet. Hopefully the warmer weather will fire up the fishing!
Always enjoy seeing a new Bama Saltwater video in my feed! Amazing fight with that black drum and I applaud you for throwing that speck back! I know many that if it’s caught at their dock it ain’t measured so kudos to you for abiding by the rules and doing your part at keeping the fish population sustainable and healthy!
Nice video! We've a guy in the UK with a great fishing channel, "The Fish Locker" - he does boat and shore (well worth a look, catching a huge Thresher). He has a "Take 5" policy, meaning that he'll always take five bits of plastic rubbish whenever he finds some on the beach or rocks.
Man y’all’s property looks like a flounder haven certain times of the year. Another great video bro. I’ve kept a couple of those big black drum that were gill hooked and not gonna make it and they were not bad at all. One had a few worms in the very end of the tail but other than that all good. I did my best to release all those older bigger drum but they were not gonna make it. I tried for hours on the one and it just wasn’t happening. Figured I better let that be known before the crap started coming at me.
I've seen videos of storms down your way, think the 130mph winds might be part of the trash issue. Still y'all keep Bama looking so beautiful! The fish are looking healthy too.
I liked the "pet" joke you made about the drum, but it had me thinking, you should try tagging some fish you catch by your property and see how many of the same fish frequently visit.
I’m very stingy when it comes to subscribing to people (like my opinion matters) , but you sir have earned my subscription! Binge watched about 5 videos now and absolutely love your content!
My brother introduced me to your youtube channel last weekend in Venice La while we were fishing. Im become hooked on your channel. Love all your techniques.
Awesome catch man! I got my very first speckled trout off the Saint Simmons Island, GA pier last weekend. I don’t t live near the shore but I always go when I get the chance and it was so awesome to cross that off my list 17in keeper and it ate good
Mr. Franklin, you put the old Shaw Grigsby on that black drum. I didnt think you were gonna rip his lips quite that hard with that kahle hook. on there, but it worked huh ???
Haha, I grew up through high school (10-13 years ago) right down the street from here and it was a go-to spot. My brother caught his biggest pinfish in here 11 years ago.
Hey Steve I been going to ft Morgan for the last couple of years kayak fishing from long Island ny don't know the waters so if ya ever need a fishing partner hit me up. Love these local/shallow water vids for variety's sake. Can't all be deep water on the bay boat. To anyone new around here, Steve does it ALL!
Man i love your videos and the fact that you love fishing with your mother that is so awesome
You caught those reds right in front of my beach house! I learned to fish and crab with my brother and cousins in that ditch! Great little spot!
Always love the backyard fishing👍👍 It amazes me with those big drum how you can fight one and it never goes more than 10 or 15 yards and the next one takes line like you hooked a truck.
It is crazy for sure!!! Always amazing getting up close and personal with em.
@@BamaSaltwater they are a cool fish to catch. Don't find many of them here in central Pa😅😅
In my area of Florida the reds have to be 18"-27" I catch so many in that 16 17 range that would make a great meal I can't keep. Nice work my friend.

I love your videos keep up the good work
Good to see a new video! Noticed your crucifix necklace gone, or just couldn't see it. Hope it's not lost. Tell Mom it's good to see her also!
I bet the floundering would be good along those walls in front of your beach houses. As long as that wind is not ripping across the bay
great vlog brother

Great watching you fight those dinosaurs. Keep it up.

Love your Mother!! Met her about 4 years ago I think at the bait shop. Keep meaning to say something about it. Finally remembered
I liked the "pet" joke you made about the drum, but it had me thinking, you should try tagging some fish you catch by your property and see how many of the same fish frequently visit.
Loved this video so much. You need to buy four plastic 55 gallon jugs and build a little deck. Just saying.
Would be interesting to tag those bull Drum (if legal) and see if you catch them again.
I’m very stingy when it comes to subscribing to people (like my opinion matters) , but you sir have earned my subscription! Binge watched about 5 videos now and absolutely love your content!
That a hell of a heavy rod and reel setup for the ditches lol that’s so cool to just pull over off the road and catch a keeper red
Not really…3000 series
Absolutely love your videos
Been watching you for about a year! I like how you acknowledge God in your videos! And you’re a great angler!
My favorite fishing channel ❤keep it up Jake !
Haha thanks, and it's Stephen ;)
You a better man than me throwing that trout back if I was catching 14” trout in my front yard I’d be frying trout.

Great video. Really enjoy your channel.
Cool
I taught my little brother to pick up trash when he goes fishing. We've picked up bags full over the years.
Awesome catch man! I got my very first speckled trout off the Saint Simmons Island, GA pier last weekend. I don’t t live near the shore but I always go when I get the chance and it was so awesome to cross that off my list 17in keeper and it ate good
If you were in Sanrock marina, do you have any suggestions as to where to place a couple of pinfish traps? TY
That is a horrifying round. That is definitely the best round yove guys have shot. And it worked
My boi Steve
Love the your fishing video's!!
Hey, I live on perdido bay, have a bayou that is pretty decent if you want to head out sometime...
Mr. Franklin, you put the old Shaw Grigsby on that black drum. I didnt think you were gonna rip his lips quite that hard with that kahle hook. on there, but it worked huh ???
Oh yeah! Gotta get it set
You always do well right there in front of your beach house
It's really good during high tide and good water movement !
Last time I went to that spot I caught a redfish in our cast net
PLEASE MAKE MORE PIER FISHING VIDS!!!! THE KINGS ARE BACK
He’s got a boat he doesn’t need to fish a pier
@@gilmangriggs9989 12:53 he says he’s going to go fishing for kings at Navarre pier.
I love gulf pier fishing! Will make a few vids this year on em. Our local pier is down for rebuild, late this year is expected opening date!
7:08 way to set the hook with a circle hook, still worked though
Put steady pressure and force for the thicker, larger fish! Definitely
❤Please take me fishing. Love your video.😁
made apparently where you can buy live shrimp
This is my spot to cast net mullet. Never even considered fishing it lol
Haha, I grew up through high school (10-13 years ago) right down the street from here and it was a go-to spot. My brother caught his biggest pinfish in here 11 years ago.
The toilet bowl!!
Haha, it was a Gourd lol
Just subscribed!! 🤘🏾🔥 love the content
Can you use a floating dock
Definitely would be useful. Just have to drive in some pilings and have some extra $ lol . Storms, waves, and tides are rough
Great video! Congratulations on catching some nice Drum! Tell you're mother HAPPY Mother's day! From north Alabama ghenley35
Notice that you're using a different brand of bait container (?)
I use whatever is clean, dry, and has fresh batteries haha! I love m Engel Live bait coolers for most part but a simple bucket and aerator works great
can you tell me where is location?
Where are these ditches located?
All along the Alabama Gulf Coast !
👍
