@@newbomb327 Thanks for the response. By the numbers... to me it seems like the m20 would be the better trans vs the 1st gear ratio of the m21, but your video shows it still launches great. Did you install the passenger side mirror or did it come that way? I bought a '66 Coupe 327/350 from the original owner back in '83. It doesn't have one although I have often thought about adding one.
Your ET times are impressive. Back in May of 1975 I bought a '66 Vette coupe (Ermine white exterior with saddle tan [like yours] interior. It was originally a 427-425 car, but a previous owner handgrenaded the engine, and installed a 327-365 HP engine, plus converted back to the small block radiator and shroud. The car had a 3:73 rear and M-21 four-speed trans. It was a decent performing car, although I never took it to the track. I eventually spun #5 rod bearing hot rodding it on the street. Rather than going through the expense of tearing down the engine, hot tanking it, etc., I bought a 350 short block and then installed all the 365 HP intake (factory aluminum) camel humped heads, distributor, etc., although I didn't reuse the ram's head exhaust, but installed a set of Black Jack headers. Also, I didn't reinstall the 30-30 Duntov solid lifer cam, but elected to go to an after market hydraulic cam that was just a little hotter than the factory 350 HP hydraulic cam. I actually felt a little torque increase with this cam and the extra cubes, but it surely didn't wind as high in RPMS as the solid lifer 327 did. I also removed the spare tire and housing, lift jack, etc., so as to reduce the weight of my Corvette, as I read that was good for about a 90# reduction -- and just carried a can of fix a flat in its place.

L79 is one of the best engines GM has ever made. Dragging that '66 is harder than it seems. I am used to 68-72 GM A bodies with over 7 liters and I used to play around a lot. Those cars were pretty easy to get under control when you break traction. Well I don't beat on it, but I took my '66 small block Corvette out the other day, turned the wheel to the left at a deserted 4 way stop and let the clutch out fast just to see what it would do at low speed if I was not careful.
