Does this specific type of Amazon always talk this way?
Typically yes, but all birds can be different. Our double yellow headed Amazon makes completely different sounds.
My yellow naped has the same lump, do you know what it is? All they said is she’s healthy, and it doesn’t bother her.
Our yellow naped Amazon was abused when she was younger. When we rescued her, the person keeping her at the time told us that she was hit with some thing and that’s what caused the lump. So we thought it was a hematoma.

How old was your burden when it started talking
We got her when she was 5. We have one bird that started talking when she was around eight months old. We have a bird that’s a little over a year old that hasn’t started talking yet. It varies.
Your Amazon is beautiful, as well as your Green Cheek Conure. I caution you to not leave large birds so close to small birds, as they can injure or kill them. Amazons can be especially hormonal and things happen before you know it.
Thank you! For some reason those two have bonded really well and spend lots of time with each other, but we keep a close eye on them :)
