A lot of designers can lack confidence when it comes to selecting colours or colour schemes to finish their work. But in todays video, I will talk about 4 warning signs that you can use to see if you don't know how to use colour just yet, or what colour palettes to use on your graphic design work.
I've already made concise videos on graphic design colour theory and colour psychology, but today we will look at this topic in terms of colour balance, temperatures, tones, moods, emotions, and even look at things to do with colour on logo designs. And at the very end, I show you a step by step method for choosing colours that you can implement into your very own graphic design workflow.

I did NOT know how to use color properly, and hence I am here
Everything that's been said in the video are pretty much everything I've struggled with when designing things in the past. Altho there's another issue I had before watching this: determining the colors most suitable for a specific target audience. Thanks to this I've pretty much determined that younger audiences fit with brighter more "in-your-face" colors while older audiences would take in the more mellow colors, but I'm still not completely sure. In my brain I'm like "are these colors really what EVERY adult or child would enjoy?"
Also I learned (and remembered) a lot from this video, the world needs to know about your videos 👍

Great tip how to start gathering colour inspiration a project. I disagree with the quilt museum logo, the many colours in the symbol gives me the right vibe as quilts like patchwork have many different squares or shapes attached. I also love strong colours. Unfortunately your version made me feel more like a software company. 😅

Use of color also varies in different color so you need to know your audience. I always check a client's website to see what colors they use before designing any presentation for them.
I’m RED/GREEN colorblind. Miserable. So, I defer to coworkers very frequently. PANTONE numbers are my friend.

I don't know if you already have a video on this but...........
How do you deal with client that are insisting colors for their brand that aren't aligned with his/her company's purpose? For example: The client want a logo for his mental health business but insist to use orange or red or any hot and bright colors just because it is his favorite color.
You can still run with their idea, colour psychology isn't a set in stone situation. You just have to work colour into the visual communication, and align other choices such as font, layout, shape etc with it.

Using colorful logo in children's brand with vibrant colors might not be a bad idea. What do you think.
sounds like it would work, but it really does depend on the brand and specific target audience
How to know you can't use colors yet, answer: If it doesn't look right or if it isn't pretty.

A lot of young people like pastel colors.
if the target audience falls in line with pastels, then cool. If not, then it doesn't matter :P
