And then when she finally married the man that she truly loved he turned out to be a sexual predator who was trying to groom her step daughter Elizabeth. Thomas Seymour was a real piece of work. I’m sad that she never had the opportunity to raise her daughter Mary who might’ve been a great comfort to her, especially considering what happened to her husband. Perhaps she was actually better off dead than witnessing his ignominy, disgrace and execution. On the other hand, considering her step son Edward’s strong Protestant beliefs the two of them could’ve been a dynamic force for the reformed religion in England. And then after all of this her grave and body were desecrated! Katherine Parr deserved so much better than she received.
