This is what Aaronson will do for Leeds all season. Run all day long, press like a lunatic, and then always look to create scoring chances for teammates, as directly as possible. He’s shy about taking chances himself in front of goal, unselfish almost to a fault. I’ll be interested to see if Leeds encourages more finishing by him, and if he listens. If this remains his major flaw going forward, just live with it.. he does so many other things well, you probably won’t mind.

The thing is Leeds United just got even more global! Generating huge interest from USA and South America (because of Beilsa). Lots of fans here down under, we are becoming a brand around the world, Never thought of that when I was a boy watching them on the old second division when Don Revie took over. Even further back than that when Jack Charlton started his career and Billy Bremner played his first game for us.

@@leedsboy64 Hi Alan I'm a long way away now but remember going down to watch Leeds when there were only 10 thousand fans in. Another time the place was so packed (when Leeds beat Bristol Rovers or city to get promoted) people climbed the floodlights to get a view and even on top of the old stand to sit on the roof. I think there was a photo in the paper showing them up there, there were 53000 fans mostly all standing. That was in the days when some of the footballers lived in Middleton. Enjoy the team mate MOT

@@leedsboy64 hope so Alan but it is tough to survive in the Premier League with the state-financed or billionaire clubs. Hope we aren't as easy to score against, great to see the attacking side of things but makes us a bit vulnerable at the back.

Can you imagine if we had a Kieran Tierney or a Lucas Digne in the team? Pascal did ok tonight but a top class LB would really push us along. Aaronson excellent tonight ditto Adams , he's a good player.

Not been this excited since i saw Alexi Lalas's haircut for the first time...
American here. You can see why Aaronson is typically in our national team's first 11 or a key guy off the bench. He is also a very good dead ball striker as well, though typically Pulisic will take corners for us. He did look tired at the end. Adams can get caught out as you saw, but he will win balls. However, you do need to consider the obverse of "our defense is not good." Given the weakness of the opposition in this game, it's tempting to be more aggressively on the front foot, which leaves you open to the longish searching balls. Don't be surprised given EPL opponents, things will be tighter. YOu're not going to score 6 against Wolves. Finally, now that the season starts next week in Holland, it will be interesting to see if you sign Max. It may have to happen this week. You need him. Orta may wind up overpaying.

@@lisasomers9337 Of cousre, Gio Reyna when very healthy is VERY good. The only lock starters in Berhalter Ball upfront/in the midfield are Musah and Pulisic. After that, assuming everyone is healthy, it becomes more problematic with Berhalter at the helm. I don't expect Aaronson to start every game in the WC, as he didn't start every game in qualifying. Anyway we Americans have officially hijacked this thread, so expect Aaronson to be in the starting 11 for Leeds. He will be a difference maker there.

Adding the right kind of players can sometimes have a synchronistic effect- not only bringing their own attributes but freeing up- pulling out quality that's laid dormant from other players. Would be immense if players like Rodrigo, Firpo can realize their best selves as players.

Think we still need another striker, or forward who can play in the middle. Games will come thick and fast and Jesse's system uses lots of energy. Doesn't have to be a world class forward, just a really good one that's a really good fit for the team as well

Really pleased for Rodrigo, hope he can take that confidence into the new season. But that was another game that exposed our desperate need for a quality left back. If it does not get sorted Leeds will be conceeding more goals than they score again. Overall good to see the new lads settle in well but defence just is not good enough at the moment.
I know its just a friendly against a team they should beat easily, but a lot of good things. I'm pretty sure Aaronson ran home and got on the treadmill. He doesn't stop!

I've been saying this for a while but Aaronson's work rate/movement as a RM and some of his passes remind me of a young Beckham
Brenden has lungs for days. The kid can run all day long and with pace. One of the hidden gems that came out of MLS. Medford Messi will be loved by Leeds if he's not loved already.

Great performance but that defending between 3-0 > 4-2 was utterly shambolic and can’t be taken lightly.
The second goal we conceded was when the fullbacks got forward and there wasn’t enough cover at the back, at that situation the center backs need to shift to the fullback position and the midfielders Adam and Roca need to slot in to the center back position. The first goal was because Llorente lost his man. Still work to be done on the training ground and in the transfer market, but I’m confident we’ll sort everything out. MOT
the 2nd goal looked more odd than anything, one guy got through Rasmus, Adams, Koch and Roca

@@randomyeeet1963 Rasmus got forward, Koch slotted to the fullback position, but Adams/Roca didn’t fully go to the center back position so their attacker got in the space between Koch and Adams/Roca and scored before any of them could fully close him down.
@@randomyeeet1963 look at how forward Koch and Rasmus are, Koch needs to stay back when Rasmus gets forward, he left the right flank defended only by Llorente (whose supposed to stay on the left) and the left flank only by Struijk. We were vulnerable on both sides, if the attacker decided to switch the play they probably also would have had the advantage.

Was just that, a few minutes of lost concentration & later on (not shown on highlights) Cagliari had 2 free kicks that were saved. Other than those few blips leeds were solid, good passing, good movement, finished well. Everyone should be happy

Struijk looked good at left back, and good to see Pat back scoring, but still think I'd be a whole lot happier if we can get another striker and a proper LB in before the window shuts.
If we get those then thats a near perfect window for me (considering we were always going to lose Raph and KP).
Jesse mentioned after the game that we’re still looking to bring in players before the window closes, we might atleast bring one in before the Wolves game hopefully.
