Presenting, DOLLHOUSE, a multi-animator project about Whiteout and her family.

i cannot express how proud I am of the participants in this map. they helped me take just a script into this beautiful project and i am so happy and honored to have been able to work with such great people- its been an absolute joy working with every single one of them and they all helped pitch in towards the end when a bunch of stuff needed to be done :)
also a HUGE thank you and big shoutout to my friend TheLovelyLadyLil for literally editing the ENTIRE participants credits (the whole sequence with the dollhouses) it absolutely saved my life and this map would not have been done on time if it wasnt for her, also she literally sacrificed her sleep schedule and got 1 hr of sleep last night because of it PLEASE GIVE HER SUPPORT

I never thought about how hard whiteouts life was going to be after darkstalker was put to sleep. Her mom was missing, her father was dead, her brother also missing, disgraced. All the nightwings probably thought that she would turn out like him. There was no one to help her. I hope she still lived a good life tho.
Apparently she did, because I think she married that dragon with the glasses she met at that party and had some dragonets. Darkstalker said that Sunny was one of her descendants so I assume that's what happened.
@@bloop4848 any nightwing animus dragons would be descended from whiteout, so yes she was sunny's great great- etc. grandmother.

And “he won’t snow for a while” is saying that the ice wing part of the hour glass won’t grow for a while
I think that even though she was born late after the moons, she absorbed some of the powers and predicts stuff in her own way
I agree, some of her prophecy’s do make sense, and your very right about that one.
A detail I think most people miss is actually when she describes Clearsight with 'I like the way she knits', possibly referring to the theme of strings and webs in her powers.

It's very sad... I just realized that after the events of Darkstalker, Whiteout officially had no family left. Foeslayer was a captive of the Diamond Trial, Arctic was dead, Darkstalker imprisoned for the next two thousand years... Indigo and Fathom left to their island where they would raise their dragonets. Clearsight left for the lost continent. Hopefully, Whiteout was happy with Thoughtful.

She was, because there are her descendants, such as Sunny. Darkstalker didn’t have dragonets, therefore she was with some one for sure and had children.

After all the times I've watched this masterpiece I just realized something- Darkstalkers pupils are the hourglass that he made that determines the good and bad in a animus! You can see it shift more and more, filling up with white sand- I cant believe it took me this long to spot this dazzling detail!!
I noticed the hourglass shape, but never that the glass filled... that's sick.
I only saw it in Dragonsheep/Clearical's parts, i didn't see it gently spinning and filling outside of it. Only reason i saw it there was because there was a close up shot of his eyes.

One of my everlasting questions since reding darkstalkers book was “why didnt he use his powers to fix his family, instead of breaking it more by killing Arctic?” But this mapmade me realize it was because of all the hate for arctic

Darkstalker didn't think Arctic deserved to be a part of a happy family. Or at least not his. After every thing he did, he couldn't take it anymore.
I’m so late rn, in the prologue Darkstalker states that he hates sharing Foeslayers love with Arctic, as he was undeserving of it. It was shown in the beginning the hate Darkstalker had for Arctic when he entered his mind.
This- this is art. The hourglasses in Darkstalker’s eyes- the great character design- the way the song fits Whiteout with It’s wording- oh yes- it’s also my favorite character in the series 👍

I wanna say congrats to everyone in this MAP , because as someone who also worked on a part, I saw the everyone’s WIPs and final product, I’m just so impressed by the quality of everyone’s part. so i've watched this about a billion times already and honestly??? by far my favorite thing i want to talk about is the absolute BANGER character design. darkstalker's hourglass eyes?? oh my GOD?? whiteout's perfectly split coloring and uncanny eyes, arctic and that creepy doll, clearsight's stripes that look like tears,,,, absolutely immaculate design the whole aesthetic is SO beautifully coherent (i also love that darkstalker looks more like a hybrid in this one it just fits the theme so well. also the fact that all of their designs are segmented so they look like DOLLS i am SCREAMING the artistic vision is so good!!!!!! everybody who worked on this is unbelievably talented and deserves sm success)

Whiteout has this disorder called Associative Synesthesia and it makes her think in colors and see things. Simpler terms: She has something like Schizophrenia but it's not as serious. I think Whiteout is one of the most interesting characters in the entire series because of this. She totally should get a book because it is well deserved. I think things would've been different if she was born under the moons, because she wouldn't have AS if she was (theory). Anyways, stay aware, stay safe, love you
*Actually, associative synesthesia correlates one sense to another. For example, hearing a cat meow and seeing the color red. Or associating certain letters to colors, so when you're reading, even if the ink is black, you see, for example, A is red, and B is purple. I can understand the confusion, but associative synesthasia isn't hallucinations in any way.*
*The colors don't change from what they're associated with, by the way. A would always be red, and B would always be purple for that person.*
This is probably one of the best things the WoF community has ever made.
this is so perfect for Whiteout, "I see things that nobody else sees" can reference the chaos with her family but it can also talk about her associative synesthesia. its such an amazing MAP! very flowy and all the parts are fricken AMAZING! I've watched this MAP the full way through 8 times and counting. I also really like the way it shows Whiteout talking to Clearsight, telling her the stuff that's going on. although it doesn't actually happen in the book, I think that it could've actually happened, as Whiteout liked and trusted Clearsight. great job to everyone! :D

This is one of the most story driven, consistent, and theme driven maps Ive ever seen. I’m in awe.
It took me so long to realize that at 0:11 the dolls on she shelf is representing whiteouts family slowly becoming objects of their own guilt, aka dolls, I haven’t read the book completely but I’ve heard a lot about it

This map is going to be AMAZING, the parts Ive seen are so beautifully animated, amazing job to everyone
I don’t think it can be overstated literally HOW MUCH this map means to me. Over the course of the year, my experience with it has helped shape me as a person, learn about animation, and connect with some of my closest friends today. And now the final project is here and it’s just so surreal?? Like its DONE, there isn’t more work or hype to be had, which in a way is kind of bittersweet. That being said, this map is still absolutely phenomenal, it’s beautiful and it’s sad and it’s horrifying, and god it’s one of my favourite things ever. If I had never joined this map, I am genuinely unsure of where I would be right now. But I did, it’s here, I’ve made great friends and strides in my animation and I couldn’t be happier. Also thank you for putting me second place in the thumbnail contest, I was really giddy when I saw that, since I’m still really proud of that entry.
I realize I haven’t really been talking about the map itself, so I’m gonna try and do that now lmao. The overall theme of this map is so unsettling and spooky, which is like my favourite thing ever???? It’s like as if my favourite Jack Stauber content was meshed with a map. All of the designs are so so pleasing and gorgeous and symbolic and its great!! Ur such a good character designer blu. Literally every single part in this map is so fluid and gorgeous and the colour scheme absolutely KILLS love me some purple bisexual lighting. And then the EMOTIONS OH MY GOD. Even though were all different artists with different styles, Whiteout’s sense of fear, dread and devastation, is still crystal clear in all parts. The same goes for characters outside of Whiteout, with Foeslayers sadness, Arctic’s anger, Darkstalkers absolutely terrifying behaviour, and Clearsight’s own fear. Also, this map is fucking terrifying!/pos I don’t think many people realize how horrifying it is what Darkstalker did to his father, and this map perfectly perfectly shows that. Puppet Arctic is absolutely horrifying, and the execution made me realize just how dark this stuff actually is. I could go on for hours and hours discussing this map (which technically I will in the stream), but bottomline, I would not be the same person I am today without Dollhouse or it’s participants.

Something I only realized after reading the books a few times: At one point Whiteout says, in the context of Foeslayer being the IceWing hostage, something along the lines of “Only one of us will see her again, depending on who looses the future.”
Darkstalker was the one who saw Foeslayer again. He lost.

I loved Whiteout’s story throughout the Darkstalker legends, she went through so many losses but found a way to move on with her life and be happy. This MAP was so amazing, and after almost a year it is finally here :>
This is the most heartbreaking MAP I’ve ever seen. Kudos to all the animators who worked on this project!
3:23 when the darkstalker made the puppet rip whiteout was crying that melted my heart But I was waiting for so long I was so happy someone was making a map about whiteout she's way underrated everyone did awsome!
Oh. My. Gosh. This map is INCREDIBLE. Everyone did an astounding job. The designs and use of imagery is super cool- I loved the doll designs, especially whiteout's half white half black design. Darkstalker's eye design was especially great- the use of the hourglass to represent his moral transformation was so cool! I loved the part with arctic as a doll, showing him as a puppet under his son's control. Overall, this is probably one of the best multi animator projects I have EVER seen! Great job everyone!

I haven't read WOF before, but the community looks amazing and all the animations are so stunning! Its easy for me to understand and the designs look amazing!!! I came from the warroir cats fandom! My friend is a huge WOF geek so she forced me to watch this, wonderful Map!

I totally reccomend Wings of Fire to any Warrior Cats fan! The author of WoF, Tui, actually worked on Warrior Cats. It's a great series that just gets better and better.

THIS IS GENUINELY ONE OF THE BEST MAPS I HAVE EVER SEEN. Everyone did absolutely incredibly, I love the stop-motion addition in one of the first parts. Genuinely incredible and so beautiful. This idea as so creative and gorgeous, thank you all for bringing this to life!

I know this is already a big topic, but it’s surprising how many people think that this is a book series for kids. Like Whiteout and basically the entirety of her family’s backstory is incredibly messed up.
I love the design for Darkstalker, it fits perfectly. The hourglass in each eye really makes him stand out, and I knew exactly who he was immediately. Mad respect for everyone who participated in this project; it's become one of my favorite MAP's!

The stop motion part was SUPER IMPRESSIVE

Hi Blujae!!!!! I love ur stuff soooooooo much and this is no exception. I’ve been waiting for this map for like a year now and I absolutely love it. The designs are so cool and I was wondering if I could use them for one of my upcoming whiteout PMVs? I promise I would never steal their designs. Do I wish I’d thought of them? Maybe, but I didn’t and you deserve the credit for the beautiful designs. Love ur stuff!!! 🤩
This map is spectacular. The animation is amazing, as are the designs. The song fits Whiteout perfectly as well. Whiteout is one of my favourite characters because she's so interesting and innocent. She never deserved anything that happened to her and I'm glad she at least got to live happily with Thoughtful.

IM SO PUNPED FOR THIS!! It feels like forever since the map call first came out. I’ve seen so many really good and well animated parts for this, to! And to finally see it complete- and thumbnail looks amazing, too! This is most likely going to have more views then the Queen Coral map(More)! I cant wait!
I love Whiteout's design for this MAP! And the part where Arctic becomes a doll? *chefs kiss*
I never thought about how hard her life was, like, people also bullied her calling her “Weirdout.” And even her father tried to “fix” and sacrifice her to the icewings at least darkstalker cared about her. Her life was hard yet that made her stronger and now here sunny is, thousands of years later, living the best like she could, in honor of Whiteout and her hard journey❤
This MAP is an absolute masterpiece. The designs, story, and animation in general are just completely stunning! It was an amazing experience to watch this. You can really tell how much effort and thought was put into the product. Everyone participating did an incredible job on this!

this was both one of my favorite maps and also one of the most unsettling one's I've seen. I just captures Whiteouts perspective so well.

Whiteout being my favorite wof character I'm happy this map actually gives recognition to her-
Darkstalker thought it would make Whiteout happy if he killed Arctic. He thought Arctic was the source of her misery. But he wasn’t. Whiteout was sad because ever since she hatched, all she has wanted was a family who loved each other and didn’t fight. Unfortunately, Darkstalker didn’t understand that, which is why Whiteout was so upset when Arctic killed himself. Whiteout’s beautiful vision of a happy family never came true.
Yeah but do remember arctic and foeslayer still loved each other very much they just argued about being in different tribes and what was better for them

dang, this is well made! each part was carefully put together and i love that the dragons are portrayed as mannequins. one detail i loved was the hourglasses flipping from black to white in darkstalker's eyes, symbolizing his fall into darkness. and the fact that whiteout only wanted a happy family, and now she is standing behind her brother who just killed her father as if he was nothing but a puppet.
I swear this song was made just for whiteout. This is would probably be exactly how she saw her world. Just a bunch of puppets. Darkstalkers claws as as needle was genius, the hourglass eyes, Arctics death, “everyone things that where perfect don’t let them look through the curtains” horrifyingly perfect. I’m so sad whiteout had too go through this. (Although I’m more irritated that her design is again not as described in the book. One of the most unique ones and the rare few with detail and no one abides by it. Idk why that makes me so angry-)
It really was, It’s almost like most of the MAP songs we’re made for that purpose!
I think they (the animators) went with design because it was probably easier to do and/or show Whiteout in a different way. She loves both of her parents, I think equally, so they might’ve been trying to say something about that by having her designed the way she is. She was also treated strangely because of her uniqueness (aka obviously a hybrid).
@@SweetCandyDragon i defiantly agree the representation could totally have had a part to play, that being said i'm a writer and i design characters for friends (both WoF related and not) so when someone goes around changing the designs of things so carefully decided it a little bit of a pet peeve for me- i guess my annoyance is more personal then i initially thought haha

This is one of the most amazing maps I have ever seen. Everyone has done an amazing job. This is the kind of map that everyone looks forward to! The use of stop motion- tweening and frame by frame is used beautifully. Every emotion is perfectly displayed too! Baffling how hard everyone worked on this,
The animations are well thought out and a lot of people havnt realized how much detail the artists and blujae them self put into this map, thank you for making this, no whiteout map could ever be better then this, blujae, thank you, I appreciate your work strongly!

Whiteout deserved better. I can't imagine her life was very easy or she was accepted at all after everything in her family was revealed.
Every animator here did AMAZING!
I love how this map shows how Whiteout felt, her father always barely cared for her, only caring about the fact she looked more like an IceWing than her brother, and her mother loved her but couldn't provide the stable household Whiteout deserved due to arguments with Arctic, and her brother, Darkstalker, who was always supportive and there for her, but was slowly losing his soul, then all of it started to topple when her mother was gone, then Darkstalker forced Arctic to disembowel himself in front of her, then Clearsight has to take Darkstalker to god knows where, then Clearsight vanishes, leaving Whiteout on her own (With Thoughtful, of course, and they seemed to end up working out, but that isn't gonna fix the horror of her family hating each other then falling apart, leading in the death/disappearance of everyone but her). Not just this, but the fact she saw it happen in the future but nobody could understand her when she said anything because she said it "Weirdly". And the animators here did AMAZING expressing this, I really hope BluJae and all of the animators get the credit they deserve! This was an amazing idea and had amazing symbolism! The expressions, concepts, and animation quality, all the different art styles, they all worked perfectly!
I might edit this as I rewatch the map, I love how the audio cuts out like "Mom, please wake up, dad's with a 'ss~~~' and your son is '~~~~'. They really portrayed this well! Whiteout saw the glimpse that their father was going to be controlled and wouldn't make it, and that Darkstalker was an animus, but nobody, even Foeslayer, understood how she spoke, so the warning messages were cancelled out, then it transfers to Foeslayer looking like she wants to help but can't and regrets that she can't, and Whiteout being shocked/hurt, that this is inevitable since she can't warn anybody in a way they'd understand, but when Foeslayer is gone, it shows what Whiteout *wanted* to say but couldn't make out in "Normal" terms (I put normal in quotations because it was absolutely valid and normal to Whiteout, but isn't to Foeslayer)
When the line is repeated again but to Clearsight, Clearsight seems to be able to understand it a bit more, making it more clear "One day they'll see what goes down in the kitchen" during an argument between Arctic and Darkstalker, which Clearsight with her future seeing, probably knows what this means so she reacts with more understanding.

I actually really love this song (along with just Melanie and general) and even though my immediate thought isn’t that it’s interpreted as creepy, it totally can be, and oh my god did you guys all rock this twisted spooky theme so well! I actually got so excited for this MAP, and I can already tell this is gonna go down as another history maker for the WOF MAPS! Stupendously spooky time 🎃😎🎃
Is nobody gonna talk about how they went the extra mile to put toy versions of EVERY SINGLE ONE of the animators avatars in the credits???!!! And in the part most people don’t even watch! They were so devoted to the vibe and the fact that the work was done to do that just makes this already incredible map all the better
I liked that the good/bad sand timer played a part in some of the animations and you could see in his eyes that he was getting worse and worse as time went on. it was a good touch :)

Honestly, wow. The new spin on how Whiteout looks is amazing. How the “dollhouse” works into it is perfect. When White’s mouth gets tied up when Arctic makes her “perfect” works so well.
i lost count how many times i watch this, this song fit Whiteout so perfectly. everyone animations is beautifully well done
and you did well to both out some of the words in the song, It actually felt Foe Slay was blocking out the bad and negative from what Whiteout saw/witness
with Whiteout condition or new way to see things, it shows it very well in this video
