ALE transformer move North Wales Dec 11th 2011 013.AVI

After coming from Mostyn dock, through Flint and onto the A55 at Northop in the early morning of Sun Dec 11th 2011 The impressive heavy haulage ALE units reverse the 3rd and last 250 tons electrical transformer into the Siemens compound off the B5381 near St Asaph in North Wales. To spread the huge weight, (all up about 350 tons) the trailers have160 wheels! This and one other transformer will be used to increase the voltage of the output of the 160 turbine Gwynt Y Mor windfarm to be built in the Irish sea 10km off Towyn starting next year.
