I am now lusting after that book, Steve. Also, haven't seen Mamoa's version of Conan, but I would've loved to have seen a film franchise built around his portrayal of Khal Drogo from the Game of Thrones TV series.
Already have the complete Conan in the DelRey paperbacks from the early 2000s, but may need to get this. Nice looking volume. Will be spending next weekend in Cross Plains, Texas celebrating Howard an his Annual festival. Mr. Roy Thomas will be there!
I don’t think Conan has been given the respect in popular culture that he deserves. John Milius’s film is awesome (one of my favorites) but it’s about a Conan who doesn’t yet know anything about the world. The Destroyer is laughably bad. Jason Momoa made an excellent Conan but I don’t think the movie did him justice. I like the idea of just having different actors play him at different points in his life.
Loved the original conan movie, the sequel was awful, but I would have loved seeing an older conan, I've downloaded these books onto my kindle, perhaps it's time I finally read them?.. & not a Stephen King fan?
