That’s cool. I haven’t been arrowhead hunting since I was a kid when I lived in eastern NC. Every spring when tobacco fields were plowed up for seedlings we would walk the lines and sometimes find some decent points in the open fields.

"Devil's Snuff", the common puffball mushroom. Fun stuff!

Very cool pottery, I am willing to bet that somewhere upstream maybe not far is a village site where they carried water from the creek in the vessel. They probably dropped it or slipped on a mud bank and fell on it. I would start at each bend where the water is deep(easier to fill)and look for higher flat ground like somewhere you would camp. I believe you're going to find a alot more.

Yes unfortunately above is someone else’s property , there is a Cabin a few hundred yards away from 1850’s, lots of activity for sure! Thank you

Same here! Found one in a local lake and it was such beautiful clear quarts piece. Unfortunately, it was only the base, the other half is still somewhere in the lake I'm guessing. Such an elusive piece haha.

What a great hunt sir! My family always knew those "mushrooms" as "Wolf farts" lol. I remember the first time my gpa said watch this, stepped on one and blew my mind. Then, he said thats what we always called a wolf fart. Interesting the different stories told. Good luck on future hunts, your dogs are beautiful and great finds! Be safe!

Thank you for the add. I am a digger and finder of lost artifacts. On March the 4th I will be attending a metal detecting event which is located in Greenville NC. Is there anyone that would bring me and my digging buddy on a arrowhead hunt. I can return the favor if your ever in South Louisiana. Here are some of my finds from the past month. Thank you

I would grow tired of quartz points , flint is so much more beautiful.

Sometimes quartz is so much more prevalent in the natural environment and they used what they had.
