    I’ve been using this method for bass last few years with large balanced leeches ! Works good along weed lines . 🎣

      You can go straight 2x from the bobber to the fly for sure. It's how I started doing this. But you could snap a fish off at the bobber, and then the fish is gonna have 9ft of leader hanging from its mouth. Not cool for the fish. Hence my slight taper.
      Also, if you run a side by side of any ol normal bobber for the float n fly rig vs this leader system, this leader system will literally catch 10x more fish. Most people start out using a regular nymph rig for the float n fly, they realize others are catching way more, or their partner on board with the correct rig is catching way more, etc. Then they end up going this leader system next trip out. Seen it time and time again. Everyone is skeptical at first, until the first trip.
