Basically... they hired GhostCrawler, plunged a lot of money into it, and in the end, didn't like it, sacked him and deleted all of their work... Because they probably wasted 80% of their budget on it... They've had to find money somewhere else... So they got rid of Forge, LOR and all did all those massive cuts, and made those 200 buck skins just to re-fund their failed project... It's a big yikes
2:45 Runeterra didn't try something new, the game is basically magic gameplay with Hearthstone card design, they tried to mix both games like they did with Valorant (it is a mix between CSGO and Overwatch) but it didn't work, Runeterra it's too simple for those who play Magic and too complex for those who play hearthstone.
Okay Snnuy, love ya man, but that's just like lying in thumbnail. I'm okay with clickbait, but you can clickbait without lying. Edit: The thumbnail has been changed, it was originally a photoshopped tweet saying the MMO had been cancelled.
I don’t get it, what is the clickbait? Homie talks about the tweet on the thumbnail and reads it aloud and talks about the mmo, where is the clickbait????
@@dragomaster2422 The thumbnail has been changed. The previous one showed a modified tweet stating that the MMO was cancelled Edit: Wait, are you the dragon master from the twitch chat? If so you are a legend for gifting so many subs to the channel
If you "start" a multiple year mmo development now, I fully expect some crazy AI involvement. I can imagine anything from a completely interactive world that is ever changing to maybe even player unique quests and so on. If they do that, just to publish something that isnt shocking they suck harder than lol balancing.
It would be somewhat poetic if they announced the MMOs death the same way they announced its birth. Through a tweet and nothing more. But that thumbnail is sus, sun man
Maybe. But it feels like a reevaluation of the project after studying the current market and what people wants today. Expectations are high, and they can't mess this up. Overwatch was bullshit all the way. The pvp still good, bur very disappointing.
i mean how much it can be? Riot likely start in dev the mmo within 10 year anniversary if not before, and that was 4 years ago i think, its really worth it take almost 10years to do it?
2:14 nah the problem with mmo's is gamers themselves lol back when wow first came out it took people months to hit max level cuz they were interested in doing things other than leveling so new players could pretty consistently find players that were also new and willing to play together or a older player who could teach them, now tho if you dont hit max level on week one the game is left pretty much unplayable for you cuz ur stuck trying to find a group out of the 30 people left who are trying to enjoy the game.
warframe survives as much as they can, before they change their direction to go mainstream and invite more investors for more money. that immediately kills the game. Man i'm a warframe lovers until 2018, before they decided to seek tencent for money
I'm concerned about the 'going dark' part tho. They could just wait for heat to die down and cancel it too. I somehow don't feel suuuuper trusting of Riot and the direction they want to move forward. Riot Forge failed financially, but it was the breath of fresh air that could have kept Riot feeling more fresh. LoL is always LoL and now LoR is gonna be a different game altogether. A few more years with nothing in the horizon other than season x of LoL? I'm not feeling it.
I am glad to see the MMO take its time. These guys are paid professionals that have been thinking about the MMO for awhile now, I trust what they will develop and I prefer the anti-Greg approach where they don’t try to satisfy every little bit of player feedback. They are literally the paid devs after all. They will make a game we all enjoy as they have before whether it was Riot, Bioware or even EA because EA is still around because they make money for the company.
As others have said, dat thumbnail 🤥 You may not have meant it to be like this because you assume everyone else is reading all the same stuff you read, but... Sunny: I kind of use your secondary coverage as my only source of Riot news outside of the LoR client, so please don't give me a heart attack like that again

Makes sense since they slowing down with runeterra and it’s art
Guys, the thumbnail has been changed, hence the click bait comments. The previous one implied that the development of the MMO has reached its end.

Literally give me WoW in runeterra.
I wonder if I'll get to play Elder Scrolls 6 or the Riot MMO first?
I guess maybe 10 years. I wonder how LoL will be like then
Really clickbait?
How is it clickbait?
Homie literally talked about what’s happening with the Riot MMO? Where’s the clickbait? This is just a degenerate comment frfr.

Who knows, if this game can be highly profitable, it may help fund smaller games that are at a loss like LoR, esports, and Riot Forge.
