Nice video on a very clean factory looking install of the upfitter switches. I heard of it being done, and was curious of the process. Thanks for sharing this!
Wow, and I thought that putting them in my 2011 was tough! Ha, those are a beast. However, the pass through wire harness is much better. Great work such helpful videos.
So glad that on the 2020-22 they put the pigtail for the fuse box on the passenger side, no more running the long wire harness across the front of the truck! Great video. I’m getting ready to do this to my 2020 Lariat with basically all options, but whoever ordered it didn’t spend $165 for upfitter switches! 😡
I bought my console for $225, waiting for it to be delivered. Hopefully it’s as good as what I was told! Cross your fingers. Now I have to order the wire harness and the fuse box.
The part number that you listed for the loom that goes from the console to the A pillar, will that also work for a console that also has the rear slider?
Another great video, ARod! I appreciate your attention to detail and thorough explanation of all the jobs you do. I just added OEM upfitter switches to my '23 XLT SuperCab 7.3L. It was such an easier job than this era of truck. The big part was not having to route that huge wiring harness around the engine bay. The 2020 plus trucks have them preinstalled. I think the most difficult part of my job was removing the battery and its box to plug in the auxiliary relay/fuse box. Other than that pretty smooth sailing.
@@mattheww7296 I have a ‘23 F250 XLT Supercab shortbed with rear sliding window, no sunroof, no proximity/motion sensor. My interior color is medium dark slate but I opted for a black upfitter equipped console. I do have an extra slate console equipped like above. I can swap it over to a non-slider and/or make it sunroof ready.
@2A3A66 thanks for the reply. Nice truck!! Are you saything that everything for your upfitter switches was pre-installed basically except for the overhead console with the aux switches ?
@@mattheww7296 I had to install a new wiring harness from the bottom of the A-pillar to the overhead console. It replaced a simple harness that only served the anti-collision camera. The new wiring harness has the camera wiring, added the upfitter wiring and integrated the rear slider wiring. The OEM slider wiring is a short stand-alone harness. The consoles come with the switches installed. So, they are a simple one-for-one swap. Just plug, and play. The only thing you’re adding rather than replacing is the auxiliary relay/fuse box. It’s a very simple job. However, I did have to remove the battery and its box to connect it to the engine bay wiring harness. You can see the dummy plug between the battery and fuse box, but you will not be able to access it until the battery box is out. This relay/fuse box is standard for all 2023+ trucks, part number: PC3Z15A404C The only item pre-installed (2020+ model years) is the engine bay wiring harness. I hope this helps.
Great video. Tell that owner he should be able to just program in factory ford remote start keys for that truck and the remote start will work from the FOB and then also ford pass app.
I have up switches in my F250 both my F350s and my F450. And you know, I have never connected them to anything. One time I had a LED bar connected to my F250 but my drink kept turning it on. 😂
You need some lights and accessories so you can use them! 😂You know, on the other hand if you had one truck that didn't have them installed, you would definitely need them there in that truck. Murphy's law 😆😂👌🏻👍🏻🔌🔋🚫🛠️🔧🔩 ✊🏻🇺🇸🦅
Excellent video! My 2018 Lariat doesn't have upfitter switches, and it's bugged me since I bought it (used.). Now I know how to add them, thanks to you, but need to figure out the P/N's for the harness and upper console for a truck without the sunroof, but with the electric slider rear window.
That was soo super cool and helpful, thank you!!! I have a 2017 F250 XL PSD, may I ask how can I lookup the part # for my particular headliner upfitter switch console?
Yeah it's pretty easy to hook up one of those. The small ones you can just plug into 12v(cigar lighter) 'plug', but for bigger ones you gotta run good size positive & negative wires(~8 AWG?) directly to the battery terminals(w\ a fuse of course) to get good 120v electric juice coming out of it. For simple temporary use they usually have alligator clips on the +\- wire it comes with to hook up to truck battery when using while parked\offroad -but still not the best connection for big, high draw 120v items, but it'll work. 🔌🔋🛠️🔧🔩👌🏻👍🏻 ✊🏻🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸✊🏻
I want these so bad! But my dealer is ZERO help finding the parts! How do we get help finding the correct switch module?!!??! And don’t forget the little harness that goes down in the kick panel under the glove box!!
You need to be more specific, there were 3 parts to male this possible. Might wanna pause the video because I showed ya the part numbers................
Wow, did they throw in some lube too!? 😮🤔😠😲 If you have the part #'s, look on Google & find a dealer to order from. There's quite a few that are not crazy expensive Leviton? Ford iirc is one of them. Just be careful on eBay stuff!
And I’m still loving them and everything else you did. Thanks again big guy

Hey Aaron where can i look up the correct parts for my Duty?
I wish I had AC power on my 2015 F-150. I suppose I could buy an inverter then wire it with a switch somewhere

Anyone purchase one? Two local dealerships quoted $1600!!!
Maybe those dealers haven't a clue what they're doing
