Very interesting and informative. The S95-pattern desert DPM shirts and smocks are fairly commonplace over here (I have a few myself), but I wasn't aware of the different variations of the pre-95 items.
There are some other pre-95 but post-Gulf War desert DPM items too, quite a lot of interim clothing was produced in the early 1990s before Soldier 95 clothing entered production.
Thank you Rifleman! I've been just finishing my research to produce a similar article, and I found yours. No doubt added to my work! Cheers mate (Vini - Brazil)
Once again, a detailed and outstanding video. May I ask a question? Desert DPM is my favourite pattern. Can you recommend any locations where I could buy desert dpm trousers in cotton. (larger to xl sizes as they are very comfortable in hot conditions if baggy) My internet searches haven't been all that productive so far. Any advice would be welcomed. Cheers ! Simon Inglis
I know an old video .... but im from the states & have both dpm & ddpm uniforms..... i typically wear a large Blouse/ shirt..... regular large British dpm fits fine every time, how ever the British Desert Dpm shirts 1 is a combat shirt other is FR field shirt, they are huge..... exact same size as woodland dpm shirts size large ( in CM) why is that? The sleeves are much bigger & fit so much looser on Ddpm.....
Found and bought a couple windproof smocks, & a pair of the windproof trousers in my size. The lightweight are thin but breathable shirt & trousers thnx for review 3/22
Interesting, actually one of the few bad reviews of them I've heard/read from a veteran! Most I've spoken to really liked the Gulf War-era lightweight desert combats, in contrast to the later DDPM clothing.
@@RiflemanMoore I agree, I went through the 1st Gulf War and we were all really pleased with the Desert DPM gear - plus it was very effective camouflage, especially at night.

I dyed a desert DPM shirt/jacket green. It turned out really well with the sand colours sage green and teh tan a darker shade brown
I remember this kit, we were in the desert in normal DPM but shortly after we got this, all it really is is the tropical L/W just a different colour .
INDUYCO stands for "INdustria y COnfección". It was bought by another company now, but still makes military uniforms for the spanish armed forces.
Thanks for the information! Interesting to hear they're still in the same line of business.

I just got a Windproof & Water Repellent Desert DPM Jacket & it’s nice to know there’s other clothing in Desert DPM before 1995
Please talk about the PLCE DDPM assault vest varies also.
Didn't see the SAS smock variations. Would be good to see mate
Ooooooh just bought one the other day couldn't have made this vid at a better time
Glad it proved useful!

Thanks for sharing, these are very comfortable, do you have any four color examples? 👍
Glad you found this interesting! I don't have an 4 colour desert DPM, no.
Awesome job mate. Great overview of one of my favourite camouflages. Can you please post the forum link?
Yes, my apologies, I have now done so!
Epic
Thanks!
I want the shirt and pants .cant get in USA
They turn up all the time on eBay, just need to find someone willing to post to the US.
Had this uniform in the first Gulf war, found them uncomfortable like most uniforms, the British government issued was poor quality as usual.
