A movie I highly recommend: The Gospel According to Matthew (starring a very animated and engaging acting performance by Bruce Marchiano, who plays Jesus). This is a word-for-word adaptation that has a unique take on the body language and charisma of Jesus, and also makes it easier to understand and quicker to read the story. I am hopeful that this movie gives you peace, love, hope, security, comfort, and answers, as it did me, and continues to do to this day. God bless you.

Since months I happen to become stuck in the thought of "I don't fit into society, I am not like other humans, I can't do what normal people do, everyone else is better than me" and completely ignore who I am and what I can do.
Forget how I've lived happily years ago when I was younger, but today always stress myself with the thought that I am not good enough, too different.

This comment is so Golden for me❤️
This proves that Eustace was gradually having a change of heart
I also like to point out that "Perfect" and "Remembrance of Courage Past" being sister episodes symbolically tie together as Courage's big finale.
"Remembrance of Courage Past" involves Courage finally conquering the source of his trauma and fear from the past. He's overcome his fears of the physical monsters that tormented him throughout the series. But "Perfect" is different in that the monster that's haunting courage is actually coming from his self-doubt. He's beaten all the monsters of the outside world, it feels so poetic that the final monster he has to conquer is from within.

The fish is a positive figment of his imagination to ease his fear and anxiety caused by his delusions since this episode reveals he has mental illness and he learns to accept and not be afraid of it .
one thing ive noticed about cartoons is that shows that are made in part for adults as well as kids tend to stick with us more when we grow up and can still enjoy them.
pupypup that was a thing of the past. Shows nowadays only focus on appealing to kids and kids only without anything for them to learn in their life. They are made cheap and fast with minimal efforts. The kids shows of today and reboots are the same as those weird “for kids” videos you find no UA-cam, they are made just for the views and profit.

This description really lines up with the original inspiration John R. Dillworth had for the show.
Courage the Cowardly Dog is based off of a true story of an Old Couple who lived in the middle of the desert of Arizona, very similar to Eustis and Muriel.
They had been reported to have gone missing by family, and and no one was able to find them or their bodies, not even the police, and the only traces of them left, were their empty house in the "middle of nowhere," with belongings, and of course, their frightened, cowardly dog, all alone, fending off the house for his owners.

A couple episodes scarred me as a kid, not cause the visuals or audio was sPoOkY but because the underlying context of the episode was real fucking dark. Like the Fred episode the underlying context was he was a pedophile or the mask episode cause the underlying context was the rabbit was getting beat up by her dog boyfriend. They weren’t scarring cause you feared for your own life, they were scarring cause of how fucked up it really was. Like that feeling you get after watching a Black Mirror episode almost
Exactly what I needed on my birthday... Thank you so much. This means the world to me...
I've been re-watching the show recently and I've realized It's not just the final episode that dwells on the concept of excepting your imperfections but throughout the entire series, or at least a good amount of episodes. Off the top of my head some good examples are the Robot Randy episode where an alien robot named Randy is called a failure and believes he is one because he doesn't want to destroy things like the other robots but has a secret talent of whittling wooden reindeer which Courage and Muriel... encourages... to share and not keep a secret, which he does with the other robots and is deemed not a failure. Or Eustace's "Im not useless Im Eustace" mentally which actually makes Eustace a tragic character when you really think about it. There's much more examples plus I believe the overall theme of the show is you're suppose to identify with Courage, that's it's okay to be scared and even though you're scared you got to push on and succeed for the people you care about and for yourself because usually it will be all up to you. My point is there was something special about this show, something beyond funny moments or likable characters or relatability. And it saddens me greatly that it will always be remembered just as, "This show was a SCARY and make a me scared as a kid and I still get a little scared even now thinking about it," when it was so much more than that. Well, to me anyway.
Isn’t it funny how as a kid we watched all these shows not knowing which episodes were which. I remember seeing this episode, I had no idea it was the last episode tho.

Exactly! I had no idea this was the last as well. I thought the last was when he killed the person that killed his parents
CoK QPyzo 👏
The thing is cartoon back then (such as courage, tom & jerry, etc) mostly telling about the daily life of the character, movie genre like this is called "slice of life" where the formula of the story usually went like this
Introduction>problem coming>main problem>problem solved in just one episode
It's different from any action cartoon where the story is continous, with this we knew where's the last episode because of in the last episode is when the problem solved
And the other thing is back then the internet isn't as good as today, so we got less information about the show
I never had the thought of continuity while watching these
I just realized that this is the last episode omg haahahah

I think this show is why I love horror today. I saw the freedom for expression within the genre with how creative each episode was, in terms of just how fucking wild the art could get. Even within one episode alone, there could easily be 3+ mediums used (2d animation, 3d animation, real life photography, etc). I also saw the amazing capacity for storytelling the horror genre holds. CTCD hit some deep topics, not all of which I understood the first time I watched it. But I always had that feeling, that something was being said, that there was a lesson in all of this. The way the horror genre approaches material allows you to get closer to themes central to the human condition, in a way that's very unique to this genre. It scratched an itch I didn't know was there, and I can never go back to not knowing.
Yeah, watching this show as a kid definitely influenced my tastes today.

@@GiddyBoy hmmm, less of a he can't give up kind of show and more of a you have to conquer your fears and fight it-show your courage.
This cartoon had a good point but we didn't see it cause we were too young
Courage was a pretty perfect show. I've come to the realization that he's named Courage for a reason.
Courage is not rushing into terrifying things with no fear. Courage is knowing just how afraid you are, but not letting fear hold you back. Every episode, there's something that terrifies him and scares him to no end, but then the people he love are taken by it. He doesn't rush into battle with adversary to prove he's better or stronger. He does it to save the ones he love, no matter the fear he feels.
Usually, it's not even that scary once he understands why they're doing it. Kitty abused by a dog and had her best friend taken by one. The Pharoah just wanted his slab back. The Shadow was just a lonely old man. The Deer was pressured into human hunting by his dad and older brother.
They aren't Truly Evil, just evil by accident.
Courage was about facing your fear and learning through it. Yes, it may still scare you, but knowing how or why it does something is the first to not being scared.
@@matthewwilliams8267 That's why 'the cowardly dog' part always annoyed me though tbh.
I always thought Courage was very brave, not cowardly, because despite his fear he always worked to stop the threat. Even though he was afraid. That was true courage.
As an adult I can say this is probably the best episode, it brings about such a good message about not taking crap from others expectations and just focusing on your happiness, I always go back to this episode as a fond reminder that we are all free to make pur own choices and of course that there's no such thing as perfect
Never thought I’d start crying from an animated fish in a bathtub, but here we are. Thank you, bathtub fish.
I cried so incredibly hard when that show ended.
It taught me that no matter how scary a situation is, with perseverance and dedication you can conquer.
It taught me to love myself even if others viewed my flaws as strange.

I don't think Eustace and Muriel died at the end of The Great Fusilli. I think they're still alive, but Courage has to just control them and stuff. Plus, Courage the Cowardly Dog is an episodic series with very little continuity. We've had plenty of episodes where Eustace practically dies, but he's alive in the next episode. The Latin origin of the word perfect means “to be done all the way through to the very end”. Like the perfect tense in grammar means this too. It’s dope the end of the series is a play on this a bit. Their project is done all the way through to the end. Is it “perfect”? No. Nothing is “perfect”. But is it done all the way through to the very end? Yes. And thus it is “perfect” because they did it. We should be inspired by the creators and Courage to do what we love all the way through to the end despite whatever fears are presented to us. Great vid. Just thought I’d share

If not for this show, I would be a hollow husk of who I am. I never knew how far I nearly went; until I started to be free.
It's so funny because schools seem like they want you to be unique but all they enforce is conformity and being the same.
This gave me my daily dosage of cringe thanks
This video has also taught me that I am perfect the way I am.
Wish I could be like you
A husk? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This was really touching, and I can only say THANK YOU
I actually expected an normal episode review but here I am motivated and encouraged.
this cartoon made me a kid who was scared of horror movies to a kid who laughs at when people dies in horror movies
That's fricked up and down and to every direction

investigation')[2] is the past as it is described in written documents, and the study thereof.[3][4] Events occurring before written records are considered prehistory. "History" is an umbrella term that relates to past events as well as the memory, discovery, collection, organization, presentation, and interpretation of information about these events. Scholars who write about history are called historians.
History also includes the academic discipline which uses a narrative to examine and analyse a sequence of past events, and objectively determine the patterns of cause and effect that determine them.[5][6] Historians sometimes debate the nature of history and its usefulness by discussing the study of the discipline as an end in itself and as a way of providing "perspective" on the problems of the present.[5][7][8][9]
Stories common to a particular culture, but not supported by external sources (such as the tales surrounding King Arthur), are usually classified as cultural heritage or legends, because they do not show the "disinterested investigation" required of the discipline of history.[10][11] Herodotus, a 5th-century BC Greek historian is often considered within the Western tradition to be the "father of history", or by some the "father of lies", and, along with his contemporary Thucydides, helped form the foundations for the modern study of human history. Their works continue to be read today, and the gap between the culture-focused Herodotus and the military-focused Thucydides remains a point of contention or approach in modern historical writing. In East Asia, a state chronicle, the Spring and Autumn Annals, was known to be compiled from as early as 722 BC although only 2nd-century BC texts have survived.
Ancient influences have helped spawn variant interpretations of the nature of history which have evolved over the centuries and continue to change today. The modern study of history is wide-ranging, and includes the study of specific regions and the study of certain topical or thematical elements of historical investigation. Often history is t

I remember seeing this as a kid, but the lesson never really clicked with me at the time. Wish it did, it would’ve helped like 3 years ago. I wonder how many older cartoons had lessons that completely went over my head?
It's actually common with a lot of them. Many cartoons like Avatar The Last Airbender, Teen Titans, Hey Arnold, Recess, etc are meant to satisfy both children and adults alike. They have an intermingled philosophy mixed with cartoon drama and comedy, which unexpectedly works out really well. The children get to see action and corny jokes, while the adults can appreciate the meaning behind a certain dialogue interaction or a piece of setting used in a particular way that the kids just will never pick up on. I've personally re-watched Avatar the whole way through about 10 times since my youth, and even now I'm still picking up on subtle things and gaining a new appreciation for the philosophy and characters that I never noticed before.
Avatar often dealt with the concept of honor and acceptance - how one's own actions determine who they are, and what they choose to become does not necessarily revolve around bending to someone else's will. Teen Titans's whole story revolved around each person's individuality and personal growth - how everyone has their "transformation arc" in life, and how you can rise to the occasion to meet your foes eye-to-eye no matter how they try to put you down. Hey Arnold taught people that no-one is a cookie-cut of each other and there's no reason to be ashamed of that - people are very different from one another, and some will hide their true selves so as to not be hurt by what others think of them when in reality this is just an irrational thought process. Recess was honestly just a huge jumble of life lessons - from the world being unfair, to the importance of work ethic, to standing up for oneself in the face of adversity, to depression and confusion, to imperfections, and the list goes on and on.
The thing that many kids cartoons lack today is the concept of an underlying message for everyone to interpret. Taking a look at the new Thundercats Roar episodes can you even say it has a theme? Much less an actual plot to it? It's purely made to entertain 2 year old's with no concept of anything other than "I see shapes and colors, I will watch." My 5 year old nephew even said he didn't like the first half-episode because it was boring, and asked me to put in the dvd disc on my laptop so he could watch the first few episodes of Avatar with me again. I know he didn't ask for the philosophical side of it, but even he who grew up with newer cartoons prefers many of the old animated shows and movies compared to the newer ones.

"This episode, is perfect"
Well yes, but actually yes
The way the scenes match up with your words is perfect!
0:57 That episode makes me tear up every time I see it. Especially that one flashback where Courage was sitting in an alley as a baby. Muriel finds him and picks him up, telling him his new name and why he is called that, then having him smiling. That hurts in the feels.
That episode was the first ever that made me cry. If you showed me this, I would just stop and shed tears. It’s too powerful and makes me temporarily weak. 😢
Never exactly realized “Perfect” was the last episode 😭
Same
I always thought that the courage parents episode it the last
Love knowing every video clip as ones ive already watched, really makes a great insight reflection from when i was a kid now understanding years later
Excellent run through. ! I loved this show for a long time now
Are we not gonna talk about the creepy guy monster in one of Courage's dreams that might've traumatised most kids to this day?
Nah i mostly laughed about it many times and enjoyed it
The white floating head? That freaked me out

"There's no such thing as perfect, you're beautiful as you are" - a fish from a cartoon.
This is a lesson so many people need to learn, some people go their entire lives without learning this and it's upsetting; especially for girls bullied at school because people are jellous. Most of the time the those bullied for looks are the most beautiful of all!
Don't let others determine who you are and don't judge yourself so hard. Be happy in who you are and what you do and if not; find something that does. Be the best you, you can be!
Why Girls specifically?
Do Boys bullied at school not have any issues?
@@anexplosion5436 I never said "girls specifically" but "especially for girls", implying that its the same for both.
Although moreso for girls as (at least when I was in school), most girls bullied each other on appearance.
Context matters ^^
@@WakoDoodle When I was in school, the female students were the only ones nice to anyone else. Everyone else, including the teachers, were pricks.
@@anexplosion5436 eh depends on what school then; my schools everyone but around 3-4 people are mean.
I won't list what they did, only that the local council saw fit to close it due to "problems".
Still, I'm glad cartoons like courage the cowardly dog exist; they teach you far better than most schools do.
I used to worry it was me who was imperfect, a problem, not as good as others; but the moment I embrassed who I am, the better I felt. I wasn't perfect but that was good, because I was who I wanted to be: Me. ^^
I’ve been really down lately and this just brought a tear to my eye thanks for this vid I needed this
Thank you for making this video. Really made my day. It's beautiful to have people like you on youtube who trasmit such good honest messages. We are not alone. Thank you
I personally love this show! Even though I'm not a fan of horror movies. Mainly for they're just not my type of movies. But I love Courage because it taught me funny enough more about Courage and confidence.

@ACCOUNT INACTIVE really? Wth I've never known that??
Bro, I love courage and I love YOU for making this! Thank you!
At the end he says “we’re perfect”, and the reason why we’re all perfect is because we’re not perfect, that makes us a part of society, because it’s not possible for someone to be perfect
I always hoped to see Courage finding his parents again.
That would be a perfect movie.
