Well done Cam. This two- part segment is a seriously quality production. Your 20-plus years in the reefing game has obviously given you a huge toolbox of knowledge and solutions. Thank you for sharing it.
Great info on this segment. Appreciated I feel you should also have your own tv program. (if you don’t already). You could be the Steve Irwin of reef tanks👍
I noticed a guy was saying how easy it is to keep sw with minimal equipment etc and spending on lots of equipment is a waste well in my experience big tanks are a lot harder to keep them pristine compared to a 120 litre etc you have a lot more water volume sure, so it takes longer for things to go wrong but when they do go wrong your in for a hard battle correcting it compared to a small tank where you can just clean siphon scrub filter sock and bam 90% water change, this tank looks like it’s doing fairly well apart from the apparent Dino issue it had, good stuff ! In a big tank I think equipment has a place so much more so then a smaller set up because technical stuff blah blah blah aside who has the capacity to do such a large water change ongoing every week to achieve the same result, you use the tools you have to achieve your results & on a tank like this equipment plays a big part my friend. Well done on the Dino removal cam good stuff, that micro bubble tip was also one I’ll remember just in case !
Seriosly the best tutorial I ever seen on dinos! Did the coral suffer any ill effects? I commented on last video how i have brand new frags and am scared they wont be able to handle it. especially since I don't even know if it is dinos. No bubbles anywhere at all! Stringy stuff that resembled the dinos on your last video though but might just be from me algae or something and clings to my corals because of me scrubbing rock and blowing snad bed and corals with a turkey baster! I have had it for months and dosnt respond the chemiclean treatments. The confusing thing about chemiclean is all it says on the bottle is it removes stains but so many people swear that it killed their cyano!
Hi Karen, it’s a difficult task to help without knowing the type of algae or seeing pictures. Maybe send a pic to our Facebook page and I’ll see if I can identify it and the cause. Cam
Is this dino x harmful to shrimps as I've just bought some as have dinos but I have 3 cleaner shrimps 2 peppermint shrimps and a fire shrimp had them over 18 months and would hate to loose them thanks in advance
I had a green hair problem and added an agent that I believe contained bacteria and carbohydrates. It did wipe out green hair but it also stripped my tank down to 0 nitrate and 0 phosphate. Then Dino showed up. I am doing some extra feeding and doing the cleaning method you are showing. Can Dino also be caused by my low levels of nitrate and phosphate?
Hey Cam. Nice work. Do you know which Dino species you were dealing with in this tank? Just wondering if Dino-X is more effective on some Dino species than others.
Sorry Cam I forgot to ask, does Dinox cause harm to inverts? I couldn't find any information about this. Just little worried because I have few shrimp and snails etc
I haven’t noticed any crustacean losses from this product, however I can’t confirm there were crustaceans in any of the tanks I’ve used it on. Not much help sorry😩 Cam
The instructions say to turn off UV so I’ve always done that. This tank hasn’t had any problems that would make me worry about a week or 2 without UV. Cam
Your uniform should be a wetsuit! You’re always getting wet... I’d love to see a video of how you collect natural sea water on the Gold Coast... I know you’re chasing the tide so getting the camera out is probably the last thing you’re thinking of 🌊
I’ve considered doing a water collection video, I’m sure it’ll happen sooner or later. I can’t wait for you to see next week’s video, I think we’ll look back at your comment here and laugh... cam
I believe simplicity is the key to successful marine & reef aquariums. Until, we create some type of amazing technology that revolutionizes everything we should get rid of %65 of equipment. I can own a small simple reef aquarium and be more successful than than an aquarium such as in this video, by simply applying the fundamentals. The reason why i say this, is because of the immense algae problem that has been shown. I dont see how owning all that equipment equates to a higher chance of success at all. You can run that whole system on a simple sump a decent protein skimmer, the basics. And be more successful.
It’s definitely possible to run a successful reef aquarium with less equipment than this, however that doesn’t mean all of the equipment on this tank is a waste. Much of this equipment is used for remote monitoring of the tank as well as automation as the client travels for much of the year. Some of the gear minimises disease risk, some reduces the need for water changes, and some of it is just because it’s cool. Not everyone is as good at you at creating the “perfect” Reef aquarium without fancy equipment so I think it’s unfair to say that people should get rid of their equipment because you can have success without it. Cam
@@GalleryAquaticaTV Well if the individual needs monitoring equipment for reasons of traveling, then thats very justifiable! And yes some of it is definitely cool (coolest set up i have ever seen!) I just feel that a lot of is just "show of money" these people have cash to burn, but in concerns to fish keeping it gets rather impractical. Because your spending $50 -$60 thousand dollars on equipment to maintain some saltwater. I have a humble aqua one mini reef 120 litres, things are looking spectacular and the only form of filtration i have is an aqua one protein skimmer, some filter floss here and there live sand and live rock! To be honest the corals the fish are immaculate! I look at these people that burn cash and there aquariums are full of algae issues and problems, its ridiculous. How did this algae issue happen? You got all that equipment i would expect that aquarium to run so smoothly that it would be surprising. You didnt even use live rock if im not mistaken so it wasnt introduced, maybe through coral frags.
This channel and BRStv are the best videos to help learn the reefing hobby, even to a very advanced extent.
Wow, huge compliment😃 Cam

Thanks, next week’s video is going to be one of the best ever😉 Cam
Great info on this segment. Appreciated
I feel you should also have your own tv program. (if you don’t already). You could be the Steve Irwin of reef tanks👍
hhaaha id watch that...
Great to see this product worked, with no risk to the other living things in the system! 👍🏻

absolutely amazing results you are the man👌
Awesome work man! Just started a new tank now in 4th week and looks like I have Dino! Ughh
It can be a pain to get rid of, but the tricks in this video should definitely help. Cam
I’m 8 days into dosing Dino x,I’ve isolated my chaeto. Just wondering how long after ending treatment I can put it back in the Refugium?

Thanks for a great episode!!! Dino everyones nightmare at one point or another 😪
Totally. I’m so glad we now have a product to sell that I can say I’ve used and it worked. Cam
Love it mate! Nothing better than an aquarium selling something theyve actually used!
Will Dino X harm macroalgae in your experience? I have a sump full of it and would hate to lose it.
Is this dino x harmful to shrimps as I've just bought some as have dinos but I have 3 cleaner shrimps 2 peppermint shrimps and a fire shrimp had them over 18 months and would hate to loose them thanks in advance
Great video Cam!
I think you got some of the DinoX on your beard... it's gone :P :P
Haha! I finally bought a decent razor😂
Great video Cam! One question as I'm about to try this DinoX. Would it negatively affect my cheato in the refugium?
I have only used it in tanks with refugiums and have seen no negative affects on the Chaeto, but of course always be careful with any treatment. Cam
Great content 👍
Thanks mate😊

What is the length of the aquarium in cm?
Parfait et j'espère que ça marchera dans mon bac !!! 👍👍👍
Feels like watching Loki after retired from being a Mischief God
lol

awesome video mate. How long did it take to get results?
I think we filmed the results 2 or 3 weeks after the first episode. Cam
@@GalleryAquaticaTV ok cheers mate
Sorry Cam I forgot to ask, does Dinox cause harm to inverts? I couldn't find any information about this. Just little worried because I have few shrimp and snails etc
Did the Dino’s come back and what exact causes Dino ?
No it did not. Insufficient biological filtration is the main cause of Dino. Cam
how's the tank doing now it's been a few weeks, are the dinos still gone? I only ask as I have a big outbreak myslef and I'm thinking of trying dino x
Any info on what caused the dino outbreak?
I have a skunk cleaner shrimp i heard DINO-X can kill it how was your experience with your invertibrates?
I haven’t noticed any crustacean losses from this product, however I can’t confirm there were crustaceans in any of the tanks I’ve used it on. Not much help sorry😩 Cam
Esse está sem legenda 😔
How many wavemakers u have?
This tank has 2 MP40s and 2 Apex WAVs. Cam
How long did it take to remove it all
The Dino was gone in 4 days. Cam
Anyone ever try to treat Amyloodinium ocellatum with this product?
👌👌👌👌
ever though of using uv sterilizer with dyno X

reef flux will rid of gha
True, we’ll use it if we have to but I’m confident we will fix the GHA without need for another treatment. Cam
Been hearing mixed reviews, I wouldn’t risk it
