  • Here is the list of tools I used to create everything you see: my laptop, Stable Diffusion Deforum Extension for Automatic 1111 UI to generate the starting animation, Adobe After Effects Rotobrush 3.0 to isolate the girl, Resolume to place her in a composition with a pulsing red background, and an analog mixer feedback loop involving the ‪@bpmcglitch‬ Premium Cable to generate the analog video effects.
    Audio by ‪@analogmemory313‬ - I worked on this at his artist residency in Belgium while he was jamming.

    When the idea of AI and art started being put together, I always knew good artists would use it as another tool in their arsenal to build on rather than using it as a standalone thing. This is a perfect example of what I mean. Keep at it.

    2 things I would like to accomplish this year:
    1) figure out how to generate AI video for VJing in real time (if that's even possible for my current hardware)
    2) train a model to emulate analog video aesthetics (using ethically sourced training data 🤭)

    You put AI and art in the same sentence and people just start convulsing lol. I've always thought that the hardest part of coming up with great results for video production like glitch art is not the glitching itself, it's getting the right video material to start with. Sure, there are collections of stock video you can buy. But with AI, sky is the limit. You can generate insane abstract visuals that you would never find in stock video banks. You can truly make your production unique to you and your imagination. This is only the beginning. It's a really fascinating new world and I'm excited to explore it as well

    I think that AI art ultimately comes down to how much a person interacts with it. If you are letting it do everything then it's probably going to look like most generic AI art but it gets really interesting when there is a back and forth. Looking forward to what you create.

    I wonder if you could somehow morph "raw" glitch patterns into a human form. Like instead of morphing image of human -> image of human, starting with a field of glitch and then morphing the human form out of that. Could be cool, like spirits popping out of the ether

    • @aaronhicks215
      @aaronhicks215 5 місяців тому

      not sure if/how it would be doable with a video source as opposed to a raw image. I might just be describing data moshing :/

    AI models like SD and MJ have been proven to be trained on work stolen from artists with permission, as well as illegal explicit images. Until there is actual regulation in this field I refuse to engage with it. I like analog glitch art and circuit bending because its remix culture at its core. AI image generation in its current state is just blatant theft

    • @YOVOZOL
      @YOVOZOL  5 місяців тому +2

      I personally see an inconsistency between appreciating remix culture and calling generative AI "blatant theft" in the same breath. I suppose if one is blatantly trying to imitate a certain artist with generative tools then yes, it could be theft. But in this case it is being used an experimental video tool to integrate with my process. Have only just begun haha

      probably because there's a lot of thoughtless AI art out there, doesn't mean the medium or method is inherently something to be disliked imo
