Nice save , cant believe someone would treat a 221 so poorly . I restore sewing machine and pull as much off as i can to clean my machine's and get inside everywhere oil and clean , they run so nice these vintage machines i cant stop buying them , just got my featherweight and im like a kid im so excited lol . I got a 1951 necchi BU for free that made your 221 look mint , its all clean and running now and its got wear spots throughout the clear coat from years of use , i absolutely love the look of the age and years of use and imagine all the years this beautiful machine must have done . Its hard being a guy and loving sewing machines , but i dont care , its my therapy ! i bring them back to life and then run a bunch of stitches and feel all that work pay off with a nice balanced stitch . Keep up the good work . Im starting to post some of my machines on youtube just so people can see all the classic styles and colors of some of the clones that came out as well as the classics . Im not brand spacific love them all ....well pre 70 no plastics please lol
This is very timely for me as I have a featherweight that I have been afraid to tackle. I feel much more confident following along with you. I love watching your rescues especially the dolls and I have learned a lot!
Wow I live in Oklahoma it is very dry. why don’t you send rain my way. I finally got a featherweight that is a 1938 and it took me a long time to get that. And then in less than 24 hours another featherweight fell in my lap which was a 1954. I have been looking for five years and I finally got 2 it 24 hours. How cool is that! One of them I’m going to give to my sister-in-law.
I have a look alike featherweight that has the Alpha sew motor on it, but it has the bobbin case and the bobbin, great deal on it if somebody's looking for a new motor or parts hit me up
Nice! I’d love to find one of these,,, on offer up i saw a person who sold one for 150 in perfect condition. Couldn’t buy it cuz i was stuck at work. So want one of these! I’d put a hand crank on mine. Nothing will replace my 15 though :]

Machine must've just been sitting out. Reminds me of smokers apartments where their blinds turn yellow because they smoke inside.

Make sure you use caution it really depends on the condition of the machine the exposure that it's had

Auto supply stores, Walmart, Amazon all have it. Gojo also works. It will remove the clear coat if it’s weak. Ask me how I know.
