Emma Hignett, the voice of the Elizabethan Line: 'Emma’s voice is upmarket but utterly approachable. She has approximately 30 years experience behind the microphone, in radio and television as well as voiceovers, and is heard daily by over 7 million people as the voice of London’s buses, Overground Trains, Riverbus and the new Elizabeth Line. She’s as happy working from her own studio as she is from any other studio.
Emma’s experience is broad, ranging from TV and radio commercials to corporate videos, from TV programme narration to the voice of a talking doll. As well as being the voice of London’s iBus scheme since 2006, and now several other transport companies around the UK, she has worked recently for brands including Mastercard, United Nations, Mercedes Benz, Credit Agricole and Hampton Court Palace.
Her career behind the mic began in the early 90s as a radio traffic reporter. She has since been Breakfast Radio presenter for Capital Gold London, Red Dragon FM in Cardiff, and Heart West Midlands, as well as a TV weather presenter for various ITV regions. And almost as soon as she was on the radio, she was asked to record voiceovers.' [Biog from her VO agency]
Fantastic video X2K9!
I can't wait until Bond Street and the rest of the line opens! I will ride on it so many times!
Same, can't wait!! Btw Bond Street will open in Autumn this year, and the whole line will be connected by May next year, so very soon.
Looking at the overhead sign on this train we need those on all the Metro Rail and Buses here in Los Angeles.
I like it a lot 😍💟
😍
I love Elizabeth line
When it’s at Bond Street,it says change for Central and Jubilee
I loved it when it said Tottenham Court Road
1:15 - "next station: Liverpool Street...
change for:
central,
Circle,
hammersmith and City,
metropolitan,
northern,
london overground lines,
national rail services
and for elizabeth line services
towards Shenfield via
Stratford!"
?!
Elizabeth Line
Thanks for this vid! I much prefer Emma Clarke over Emma Hignett, bit too robotic for me these ones.
Why does it say ‘Central and Northern’ instead of ‘Central and northern lines’ but it says ‘London Overground lines’
That’s what I’m asking
Well I think because it's in the same sentence
Like this
Change for Central,Northern and London Overground *Lines* which mean all of it
@@SL221to_Supermarkets no, in one of the announcements she only says “central and northern”
this is the same voice as station announcements in scr (it's the same person)
Yes
yes, emma highnett i think
When the elizabeth line says ‘Change for…and Elizabeth line services…’ (1:31)
Also why doesn’t the SubSurface and Central lines say change for northern line at Liverpool Street
i guess because the northern line station at liverpool street is actually moorgate and technically not liverpool street.. but i don’t think it makes sense since they’re internally connected
@@lonekie i guess it isn’t actually liverpool street but you can argue that the northern line says district/circle at Bak, so does the central line
@@Farleigh1050 yea exactly, they’d have all the reason to show that one to so i don’t see why they don’t

Shame it doesn't say the lines like the rest of the lines. She should have said: "This is the Elizabeth line service to... ecc".
Why does it say via Canary Wharf instead of just abbey wood
I think it’s because it’s a popular destination and so they want to make it clear that Abbey Wood trains go there, since when the Shenfield services start running through they obviously won’t go via Canary Wharf
@@agent_605 oh yh
I guess in the future when Shenfield trains run to Paddington they want to say that Shenfield trains go to Stratford and not Canary Wharf. That may also be why the Liverpool Street announcements say "change for Elizabeth line to Shenfield via Stratford" instead of just Shenfield
I think we are all pretty aware that it’s going to Canary Wharf
because of the shenfield branch
Who’s the voice? Sarah Clarke?
Emma Hignett
The same voice of the london buses and London overground
Yes, because Sarah Clarke certainly exists (its sarah parnell or emma clarke)
+bb. Idk ls
Don’t like the announcements
