My Dad used to be a science teacher in the early 90s and when we were kids ran 2 nails, 1 nail each through both ends of a pickle, connected to the wall outlet in the garage and shut off the garage lights. I will never forget that pickle lighting up like a Christmas light and making sizzling sounds. He also reminded us to never do this experiment without him. What a memory I cherish! This is also a reminder that audio is more about leaving a lasting impression than making music.
Spanish pickles have a relatively high impedance and gaps in the frequency spectrum ... so they are quite good for funk and rock ... whilst Icelandish pickles sound more warm, quite good for soft jazz stuff ... but the really hot stuff is Bulgarian pickles ... they have the typical djent spectrum ... check them out!
I would really like to hear a Piccolo recorded through a Pickle. Have you experimented with different kinds of Pickles? Does a Sweet Pickle sound more musical than a Sour Dill? Like EQs, do German Pickles sound different than British Pickles? Would you use a Kosher Dill on Jewish Holidays? Can you actually eat the Pickles afterward if it's a long session and maybe you get a little hungry or do you save them in case someone needs to re-record their part and you have to duplicate the exact sound?
I would eat them after the recording session. Ya know as a reward...well actually id eat one and save one and probably ask Sylvia to autograph said pickle.
Okay I really hope one day I’m able to purchase samples of something... anything... that’s been first ran through a glowing pickle filter 😂 PLEASE... dang that’s cool
Answer- "Like a broken amp". I appreciate your "let's try anything" mentality. I'll bet you still are thinking about how to deliver on Lennon's "Can't you just DI my voice?" request ;)

The mad scientist of music

One question. Dill pickle or bread and butter pickle?
The tone-pickle debate is getting heated.
You should have used a sweet pickle for the positive pickle and a dill pickle for the negative.
