It is assumed she became the maid of the mansion after losing to Remilia and receiving a new name from her as a result of her fate changing. I think the Stopwatch is more a symbolic item she uses as a trigger, opening it to visualize stopping time and closing it to resume it. I suspect that time magic is highly complicated and the stopwatch helps her to focus.
Such good times of watching my cousin play this Touhou fangame back at my age of 10. Though I couldn't get past the first half of the game at first, I still had enjoyment. (Also the same age where I've enjoyed playing the original Epic Battle Fantasy game TBH)

Honestly as much as I love the artwork of these games the artist really struggles with... The legs of all things. I thought Sakuya from KD1 was pretty lanky, but then I looked up her full artwork from KD2 (which has even better artwork imo) AND SOMEHOW HER LEGS ARE WORSE.

You're used to the Western definition, which pretty much means derivative work. The Japanese meaning is "independent work."
