I bought and still proudly own a 1984 CJ8 Scrambler way back in October 1983. The best $10,000.00 brand new investment I ever made. 281 cid straight six, 5 speed standard transmission, no bells, no whistles, no p/s, no assisted brakes, no heat or a/c, it does have an AM/FM radio, though. New Jeep owners love it almost as much as I do, especially the Gladiator owners. Yes, it is nice. No, it's not for sale. A truly iconic Jeep CJ.
Got a line on an '86 CJ8 Scrambler w/ 350 V8, factory hardtop and 33" tires for $8000 - perfect for my mountain - except plowing but already have a 1 ton plow. Really looking forward to driving and bringing home - likely this week! Thanks for the ride along
Agreed. Floor rot and frame rot is a huge issue for vehicles from this time period. This one however, it was spotless. I swear the thing had to be stored in a heated garage for years.
If its a true 1986, BUY, BUY,BUY!!!!!! You have no idea what you have there or you never would have made this clip. Steal of the century. Call Collins Brothers Jeep and ask them. Do not let an 1986 Scrambler no matter the condition get away. EVER!. Its like walking away from a 63 Corvette or 1964 1/2 Mustang.
The Scrambler is an icon Jeep. It's only going to go up in value, it's never a loss to own one.

Heater was standard equipment from the factory, Did you remove it, A/C is still optional on Jeep Wranglers. Whatja smokin?
You don’t have to remove those bolts to take the door off. Open the door pivot it back-and-forth while lifting up

Scrambler is the effective successor to the extended length CJ-6, and the '04 Wrangler Unlimited being the CJ-8 successor.
I have one that I'm going to rebuild. Twisted frame, bent tub. Gonna be a process, but it's an icon.
Yes, and I would come and get it this weekend!
Yes. In a heartbeat
If I had 15k I would absolutely buy that.
If it is really an 86 then it's the rarest of them all only a few hundred 86 models.
Yes this was an 86. Extremely rare and very cool.
If it is 1986 then there is only 200 registered as 1986 very rare
Hey Jason, are you still using your x1 sidewinder?
Yep, on a frequent basis. Out of all my printers, it seems to be my go to machine.
@@make_and_remake Cool! I’m thinking about picking one up soon. Thanks for replying (:
Hell yeah!
Yes. I’d buy for $15K
If I had the 💵 yes I would buy it in a heartbeat as I already have a 94 jeep wrangler s yj main thing to check for is floor rot and frame rot

You can tell these guys know nothing about Jeeps.
I realize your comment is two years old, but you are correct, this guy doesn't know anything about Jeeps.
